I actually just got the white SGS yesterday. Already flashed with Batista ROM. Now I just find nothing interesting about the Batista. Should I return to stock ROM and flash kernel?

QUOTE(cheekeez @ Nov 24 2011, 05:09 PM) I was interested with Batista at first but then I'm more to stock look. I came from SGS1 era where there were RFS->ext4 conversion. Does Siyah kernel has something like that? So, I went to flash CheckROM RevolutionHD and never look back. This ROM is good with Siyah kernel (great battery life) and KI3 modem which is great for Celcom user like me, strong signal, clarity in calls. |

Just tried both Batista and Checkrom. Significant difference is the font size. Hahaha.. The checkrom's font size follow default Samsung size, kinda too big

Do I need to care about the binary counter? At the rate I'm flashing, I don't think it's near 0 anymore

QUOTE(Azurika @ Nov 25 2011, 10:46 PM) guys, possible to run "ape" audio files on stock player ? Or i have to dl new player ? Cuz i hav a few "ape" audio tracks which i cant detect nor play. My fren ask me to get the neutron music player, but it cost 5 usd hence wanna ask is there any althenative to this or the Neutron Music Player is worth the bucks. Thanks Convert the APE to FLAC. Do it correctly and there will not be any fidelity loss. APE is more dominant in China. FLAC is used elsewhere. |

QUOTE(Azurika @ Nov 25 2011, 11:22 PM) any particular software or sum sort which can convert it ? Cuz i know converting of formats tends to hav slight losses of some sort to the file hence i always keep my audio files original. Thx Do it yourself via foobar2000 for example. Manually convert from APE to WAV then FLAC.Converting lossless format to another lossless format does not have losses. It must be identical in theory. Unless you want to challenge the algorithm. |

Flashing from stock rom requires Odin, no root access required.
Flashing from a custom rom with CWM, does not need anything either. Custom roms has root access by practice, I haven't seen one without. Root access is only required if you're changing the contents of /system. Hence rooting is irrelevant to flash. |

In attempt to reduce heat and prolong battery uptime, I followed the UV settings in Batista's thread. Then I try to perform stability test using StabilityTest app. Before I can even wait for any potential errors to show, the phone is already very hot in about 10 minutes. How do you guys do stability test for OC/UV?

QUOTE Yellowish areas on the screen produced by the deterioration of AMOLED cells through heat, particularly prominent for gamers and overclockers Secrets of the S-AMOLED: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124669 Anyone having this issue? Aka deterioration at top left corner of screen, where the processor is located. Edit: Found a huge thread about this. I didn't notice until I was browsing the net using SGS2 in total darkness. Once brightness is reduced, the yellowish tint appears. Then I thought I screwed my phone in a matter of days.
Good to know it isn't just mine |

QUOTE(williams2011 @ Nov 28 2011, 08:45 PM) guys, mmc = memory card, not the type of memory card...(sorry for poor eng) No, in fact moving apps to memory card slows things down. Bandwidth to internal memory is higher. So do you think if i put MicroSD into my phone, it can increase the performance after i move those unnecessary files into card. Thank You |

I've only seen up to 51C on my device. And that is already very hot to touch.
