For the camera, after I touch the screen to choose a focus area, I still need to press the camera button.

Is there a way for it to just focus and then automatically capture (no need to press the camera button) ?

I have a strange issue that started today (G version, not rooted, original latest Android 2.3.6)

Start up the phone this morning and all app icons on the home were gone.. just all empty pages. Reboot again and it's okay.

Then I uninstalled two apps that I installed yesterday. The problem still happen sometimes.

Any ideas?

Do you mean the home pages all blank, the apps icons not there? Happened to me this morning (see 2 posts above.. same as your problem?)

I tried to update Google Maps thru Market but it says NOT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE.

Do you have external microsd? Take it out and see if the problems persist.

Yes, after swipe to accep a call, there seems to be a delay (~ 1 sec) before I can hear the other side.


Another thing, the touch sensor seems to wake up quite slow. When I press the home button to turn on the screen (from idle, screen off), if i swipe to unlock IMMEDIATELY after the display is turned on, the screen seems not so responsive and most of the times won't unlock.

It means, there is about 0.5sec delay AFTER the display is turned on before the touch sensor is fully working.

To test this, let your display turn off by itself, press home button and wait for the display to turn on, then IMMEDIATELY swipe to unlock.

Anyone else?

That's a relief, I'm not the only one

Also, if it is plugged into the charger and try, the touch sensor seems to be functional the same time the screen is turned on (from idle/sleep). If not plugged to charger, the touch sensor works only after ~0.5 sec after the screen has been turned on

I also compared to my Xperia Arc, the touch sensor is fully functional the SAME TIME the screen is displayed. Other than this issue, the SGS 2 is much better

Yes, i think so too. But the issue is when the charger is not plugged in. The touch sensor "sleeps deeper than the display" ... it wakes up abt 0.5 sec slower than the display

My Xperia Arc is spot on.. both the sensor and screen wakes at the same time. Anyway, still love the SGS 2 despite this small gripe
