So after enlarge the second 4' door to 12', is it still necessary to open another side entrance of 4' to enter the 30x12 room from the roving room?

I see alot of ppl asking questions abt how do we determine how success is your bird house. To be honest, so far there isn't really a correct answer as most would simply tell you that there is no exact answer due to the vast variables. So rather than asking what is "success", y don't we all chip in our own results as a method of comparison. I assume we are all enthusiast and we keep regular records of our BH. Below are my results. With the results, atleast we can see what ppl around us are performing and then maybe compare the differences in more details....

Year Started: Dec 2010
Location: Sabah
Size: 70 x 30 x 3 storey
Type: Open roof
Results:
Month 3: 1 Nest
Month 6: 1 Nest
Month 9: 10 Nests
Year 1: 21 Nests + 4 Incomplete Nests

Another statistic should be in.

This is agricultural industry, when supply exceed demand, it means u going get price squeeze till u see ur mama in front also cannot recognise her.

They are a lot of farmers suffering silently.......holding on their anger toward officers n govt.....which is not really good for our pm......

They don't really realise how many actually affected by it........

200kg sold for 1.3 ....sure cry liked baby...

My friend sold it at 1......don't even know how to cry.....just numb....n felt the pain till today.....

Many pioneers are helping to hold their stocks n this help to prevent total collapse of bn....cross fingers Chinese will start to buy bn as gifts during fullmoon festival....
*
Same same here,

" My friends (above 200 of them) each sold about 1 ton @ average RM550 per kg. While holding the $ in hands, cried along the way home. "

" Forced harvests are very rampant nowadays. 1 day forced harvests 3 times as recommended by his well-known consultant. (collect meranti wood skin?)"

" More drastic friends burnt down their BHs to make land for palms and rubber trees. "

The Truth is in the Eye of the Beholder.

Stay on in this stride, true brothers !

Could this good news be true?
Read from James blog that there will be a substantial price increase in raw nests within this first quarter... meaning by the end of April.
If so, this will really means GONG XI FA CHAI to all swiftlet farmers who have successful farms.

If this prediction comes true... then I venture we give a chorus of loud cheers:
"Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!"
The breaking of the dawn is at hand!

Honest people like me paid the remainder sum to contractor so to not owe any money over chinese new year.
Now the remainder 15% work delay over 20 days no progress at all because I am at his last priority.
You guys should learn from my experience ...

In the first place you should let one of the 2 super hardworking consultants
manage your construction.

No harm asking around but beware of the super sharp knives by now.

Is either you employ one of them OR don't touch this trade AT ALL.

Sunset already...

Thanks Tuckfook.. Very clear explanation but why the entrance hole is on the right? And not on the left? As I know majority of swifts fly follow clockwise  smile.gif

Hexagon Tweeter just on top of entrance would be perfect !

Hi Jo Yeo, thanks for your feedback. Pls review again my revised picture according to your idea and I worry the area that I circled will be very bright. Currently that area occupied by quite number of nest. My JV partner said maybe we can make a 2"X3" hole at that wall and install speaker.

No more holes after the roving area.

Sifu Tuckfook.

Big problem, I have this owl that keeps coming back now I'm lost on how to deal with it.

First I nailed 2-3 vertical beams over my entrance hole, this prevented it from coming in for 1-2 months.
Now it is coming in again. Omg it probably stayed inside the BH like 2 weeks and ate at least 100 birds... heart so pain.  cry.gif

Any sifus have suggestion what to do with returning owl.
My entrance hole already has high voltage cables to zap them but seems like this owl has learned  the trick around it too.
*
No way out but to erect metal railings. 12" x 7" per square. Long side is HORIZONTAL.

Birds will surely adapt. No worries.

Hi sifus,
Can anyone please recommend me a reputable construction company or consultant to help me renovate my bird house?  Million thanks.  Newbie just starting out here.

DIY. Is easy but needs patience.

take note of

1) flight path
2) not too dark
3) temp (day n night)

I have never gotten horny with so many lady perfumes on the shelves of so many shopping centres or women wearing it walking pass me.

strong clean planks make a good home.

for stagnant growth, erect light blocking planks or vvip corners.
