Last month a senior player said it will take at least three years to recover....after cny, we will know if it really take 3 or more years to recover....cross fingers n toes...

We are facing bleak future with more competitors joining in from Vietnam n Cambodia n we face both opposition n leading govt still thinking that by letting us continue to keep birds in shops is no no...n we have opportunists still want to monopoly the whole market....guess we are really deep throut in deep shits as always..never seen such bad scenario ever...it's been what? 10 months??

The trend now most only dare to buy nests that still have some feather on it instead of buying pure white featherless nests as it means to them the nests are original n they don't mind picking the feathers before cooking...that's tell u exactly how consumers are thinking abt bn.

This is agricultural industry, when supply exceed demand, it means u going get price squeeze till u see ur mama in front also cannot recognise her.

They are a lot of farmers suffering silently.......holding on their anger toward officers n govt.....which is not really good for our pm......

They don't really realise how many actually affected by it........

200kg sold for 1.3 ....sure cry liked baby...

My friend sold it at 1......don't even know how to cry.....just numb....n felt the pain till today.....

Many pioneers are helping to hold their stocks n this help to prevent total collapse of bn....cross fingers Chinese will start to buy bn as gifts during fullmoon festival....

Three weeks ago, it is rm2.1k rm1.8k, rm1.5k, rm1.2k.

One week later, the same buyer offer the same minus rm300 each.

Last week, ask again...keep it...not buying yet.

Guess have to wait one more month...

True, they will quote u different prices depends on their stock now desperate u are.

I myself never sell any of my ab nest below 2k, I just wait...

We cannot just show/tell the best prices here...this will cause wrong signal send out to officers n govt n think that we are ok what...

Look at those knowledgeable RFID suggestions n recommendAtion...u know how much they knew abt this trade.

We knew the best price is rm1.8k at the moment, but that is for the cup nest...how abt the rest which easily contribute 40% of total nests u harvest n this figures is for established farms..others will have higher %...

Dt make the same mistake again n only show the best scenario to them else they think we are super rich cow that they can milk...the reality...not many....

QUOTE(tiger chong @ Jun 21 2012, 08:53 AM)
hi all, ya i am new in posting reply but i already keep reading this thread for a long time already. im not very good in english ,that y i dont like to post. rclxub.gif  not all bh farmer study so high or so clever to write so long discussions like our member did in this thread vmad.gif . i feel shame for my self sad.gif . i and my father own several bh at kedah state. we can harvest +- 40kg a month. i already keep my bn for a few month already and decide to sell part of it , bcoz i think the hope to the price to going up is so small already. actually the buyer just give me rm1250 for all gred bcoz he say i have so many broken bn.
*
1250 lump sum very good price already.

My friend Kena lagi trek...corner nest buyer also said it is not corner nest...knn...got two types of corner arr..pui...
He got no choice as bank account Sudah habis Kena topup else Tungus lelong meh...

He only sell abt 6kilos of it but luckily keep full cup n wait fr rm1.8k goes back up to rm2.1....so not so chum loh....

Kohloh,

There is nothing much we can do except wait. If cannot tahan sell some to cover ur living expenses. For sure it will takes time for the market to recover, just liked bubble tea n Taiwan foods, it takes one year to recover n now..u go n see the lines of waiting in chatime...

Of course, it will not recover back to normal soon as it is not necessity n bn not consume by youngsters n mainly elders......gd luk n go into save more mode or get out n search for new income sources....

Hehe....kohloh talk talk still leak something out too... At least all of us can sleep a little bit well with his news...but though the road to half recovery is still long way to go...at least still got chances of recovery...

Cn not stupid one...this industry can support a lot of their own citizens....not like here, all just want a share....u die u die lah...

If cn allow raw to send to cn...thousands of jobs are created there..

The whole episode is due to some ppls voiced out red nests publicly...n worst still in Chinese newspapers...betul betul gila...Chinese easily find the news fr google...till now if u want to read about red nests info....the first to come out will be fr local Chinese newspaper here....crazy..what the Chinese will think of??? Malaysian pun tak Makan baru hangar ke cn....die or not...u can google n see who is the one that voiced the most...

Only thing we can do, wait le...

Summary to all bullshits that crippled the whole bn market in mal.

Cn only ask less than 30 to accept bn. That's it.

But our part add in additional things - RFID ( one unit cost rm6888 onwards, one chip rm1, one box rm200,appointment for officers to follow to harvest n all cost bear by farmers such as transport expenses depending on location, ot if applicable such as weekend., n the list goes on....)

Oli allow cleaned nests export...

And this is use by buyers to push our prices low....u dt want to know the price they offer now....

In sum, deep shit.

Added on June 30, 2012, 12:27 pmCongratulation to our

Selangor birds nest association president, MAH, on his own new opening RFID system bird nests processing plant today.

Wish him wealth, prosperity, plenty of it with his pioneer plant tht will grow to become one of the only few leading processors in Malaysia.

I believed with this state of the art Processing plant, it is no doubt that this plant will be the 9th or 10th Special Aproved Plant in Malaysia.

It means u are on ur own.

Join the up coming protests to protect ur own future.

Spread the news out, many still blur..

Help out to get signatures if there is a memorandum tht will be submitted to the PM....such as family members of farmers,as long as they are affected by it...ur wife, ur parents, ur childrens.

I think the organiser will needs lots of signatures to show to the PM how many actually affected by it. I heard they are drafting it n will be ready in a week or so. What

We can do is, start spreading out this info n make sure all farmers are aware of it n willing to join in the protest and helped to get signatures fr all affected.

THIS IS OUR ONLY HOPE.....

Comments about RFID usage in bird's nest by Guangzhou officers, they too said tht this method is inefficient, not suitable, too expensive. Besides, info tht is most needed in identification for the bn is not where the nests are harvested and from which farms but they want they only the processing factory name, address, manufacturing standard, processing standard, any preservative added.

Added on July 2, 2012, 10:10 amFrom Guangzhou news, they have rejected the use of RFID and are using QR code.

Question is why we still want to push for RFID??????

Question is why we don't use QR code tht u can even use open source code n u no need to pay a dime for it.

Question is why when the Chinese govt already said tht they only want the processing plant name n address included in,why we push to track from farms and ask all farmers to pay for thousands for the equipment.....

Prices do drop but buyers are starting to replenish stocks after full moon festivals..fr buyers we heard the sales do drop but ppls still buying but they asked a lot before buying n only buy from known suppliers. But we are not liked last time where supply is cannot catch up with demand...it used to 50% supply ...

And demand for lower grade bn is more than full cup..if short of money to pay loan, maybe can sell corner or half cup first n keep full cup.

That's fr my limited info.

But things will start to get worst just like kohloh said if we let all bullshits to materialise....do ur part, don't wait for someone else to do ...we are all alone. If u wait for someone n someone wait for somebody....n tht somebody have other thinking n goals....

The Guangzhou news fr food industry association of Guangzhou. Guangzhou govt asked them to come out with suggestion on bird nests.

Control the nests to better quality will fetch u a better price...maybe extra 50 ringgits...tht s a lot of money to ordinary farmers liked me....enough to pay a week of petrol....as nowadays....don't even dare to go far or even go out as when look at pocket....can't even find a 50 notes..

Those tht have special permit to export to china gain the most as they can buy bird nests from us at low prices now n sell at the same price in china.

Imagine they buy rm1.500 a kilo n sell at rm12,000 a kilo....they makes millions from just selling few hundreds kilo....that's the figure fr one of the leader of this industry...envy him......

Added on July 3, 2012, 8:42 pmTrust me we will suffer from now on if we don't do anything ...

Need to spread out news of memorandum to pm....so tht we can gather all farmers signatures in few weeks time...any cares to do some volunteer works to approach farmers n explain the memorandum to them n gather signatures from all those tht affected by bn industry. This activity have advisers fr leading trade associations....

I will sign it n will encourage all my farmer friends to do the same..

Remember that's our only hope now....before we go to the extreme peacefully to protests......make sure call us when the organiser do decide to protest.

I hope lowyatt forumers will support it too....

QUOTE(West Wing @ Jul 5 2012, 03:11 PM)
No wonder that once, my friend who has an outlet in China telling that just by selling 2 Kilo per month is already OK and anything more will be bonus....and during the good time, I believe that they don't have problem selling 2 Kilo per days........just you imagine the profit these merchant make and now, we the farmer suffer because these greedy merchant aren't satisfied with 29 days of profit and wanted much more. If you know the Chinese well, you will know that Chinese buy in bulk unlike us. we buy in gms. Just by following a Chinese for shopping and you shall see why as I did follow one China man @ Pearl Point KL and observe the following. He asked the salesgirl to show the color of the shirt he liked and when the salesgirl bought him all the color, he told the lady to pack all the colors. Go to any part of the world, now it's Chinese buyers and if you are a chinese and speak mandarin, you shall be treated like VVIP. Even in ITALY and if you been to LV outlet in HK, you will see those waiting in line to go into the store and buy are all Chinese but China type only with exception of the 2, me and my friend on window shopping only.

If we can make them feel safe taking our nest, then we shall have no problem in making our fortune......but never the way our govt. wanted; just to make a few billionaires.

Now, the authorities in China should bring all these crooks in China and put them behind bar instate of making us suffer for their crime.
*
From recent demand of raw...I think they did well during full moon festival....n now accumulating for cny...

Liked kohloh said they need to sell high to cover rental, workers, bayar kopitiam, bayar taxes, n etc etc...of course we inderstand...china rental extremely high...but pushing the prices of raw n now control or monopoly the raw market to keep it low is just way too much loh...buying raw 1500 sell 12,000.....

Please help spread this appeal to all concerned to step forward to support to save the Malaysia Bird's Nest Industry before it is totally destroyed by people in power and cronies with evil agenda to monopolize the trade affecting livelihood of no less than 5 million people in Malaysia today.
