with the strict guidelines to get the licence....all the ah ma n ah sun n ah pak processing plants in kampung will closed shop. all small time players will closed shop. so, left with the 8 or 9 or maybe some powerful individuals or groups will managed to fight for their own licences will be able to sell bird's nest in china.

This will cause a major major problem to ordinary farmers, it means,
the prices will not be back to the same old level.......

but one thing the Top Leader MCA son did successfully, he just chase away many high core MCA followers to vote for the opposition for the rest of their remaining life.....

the way buyers nowadays buy nests are so selective that we will get only reasonable price for white, no feathers nests ( tht is not even half the price we use to get for super). the rest will be either u eat it urself or sell to them at low low cutting throat price. why is that happening...as buyers know what we will face just liked indonesian farmers when their nests are not allow to sell to china due to bird flu n have to sent the nests to malaysia and all the extra costs are been transfer to the farmers there n now their costs are even higher as they need to sent it to vietnam before heading to china.... we are facing the same dillema, with only few buyers are allow to export, with less buyers...just really hope that an association will come out n get a licence and will provide services to small timers to export bn to china...but then again....it will cost them money to do that n where to cover that extra expenses?...farmers.....sai hei....dui lah...

finally tan sri cheng voiced out for us...lets see how it turn out...

one of my friend cried when he sold his nests to collectors few days ago at average rm1.3k a kilo for corner nests. he asked when all this will goes back to normal.

one of my friend trying to sell his nests last week..n the collector come and said that ...wah....i never see such nests before leh....my friend ask...so, is it good or what?...the collector said....u know ahh....if yellow or pink still better but ur nests color are orange lah...so arr....i can only give u 1.6 for this...

the demand of nests are picking up as buyers knew that next round of nests will be heavy with feathers..they are offering rm300 extra for cup nests.....but the price is what we sell broken nests last year....

In Malaysia, more licences might issue as our big taikohs are going big in birdnest ....hai o, park soon, every green.

My friend Kena kick on duduk n ask to go back china....he said he also want to go back but no money as china is developed country n housing so expensive...he can only afford to stay here....third world country...

But he is saving money to make sure his children's will get a better future elsewhere....the world is big, see farther...that's my opinion lah.

Well,it is still good news to Malaysia farmers as we have other option to sell the raw nests. Till now,Indonesia still the biggest buyer of bn here...realistically, though Indo still biggest producer of bn....but they still need Malaysia nests to cope with the demand. Of course,if u sell this month,u will not get a good price as Indo are having good harvest n selling like pasar malam. Expect prices to drop few hundreds n more stringent selection....that's very much to supply n demand cycle.

Whether they going to sell directly or not really not very important n I personally think is good. Just like hai o n maybe parkson, if parkson going to see bn in all their dept stores in china which parkson is consider high end stores selling good quality products n I m sure they will attract a lot of wealthy Chinese to buy our Malaysian nests. Same goes hai o with their link in china,I'm sure they going to do well too.

It is still better than only 1 right?

But for sure kohloh will untung Kua Kua this time ...

Always remember, birds eat insects to survive n to feed their kids.....what is the supply of insects in Indo n Malaysia?.....it is getting less n less with development, clearing of forest for logs, clearing of forest for oil palm plantations....all this equal to lower insects supply....Indo nests are dropping n Malaysia will too.....

Unless all birds eat dust to survive then different lah...hehehe...

He said rm80,000 a month only.....my friend liked stunned...hehhee...

The panmee guy said very little Liao compare to his father shop that sell 4 times what he sell!!! N he said his income even less than his friend that sell wanton mee in kopitiam...the wanton mee guy can buy one new mercediz every month with his income...

For two days I Makan pagi in my kopitiam, first day I heard a group of ah sum n ah pek...wah u know ahh..all those red nests we buy n eat arr..all come from where u know? They use bird shits to ferment one lah...nai sing..some more buy so expensive!!! I tell u better don't eat whether it is red or white.

Today,another group talk abt bird's nest also, an auntie said to another group, u see the govt said check all those farms,I heard all the nests got ammonia one...u know ammonia?...poison lah...those who buy it are crazy..

These two days newspaper are reporting the RFID thing n this is what the consumers are talking abt....bloody h, got future or not?

Even now I don't dare to tell my new friend that I do farming...they will look at me liked I m kan shiong...black businessman..

Go n call any bn buyers now, they will,pui u n ask u to fly kite lah..

I heard farmers are now damn angry, frustrated n willing to do just anything to let out their steam...hope nothing bad will happen. But when u push all the crazy ppls into one. Orner,what will they do, god knows...

Prices drop rm200...imagine that!!!....now less than 2k..

While everyone shouting complaining to stop RFID, officer is rushing to china to sign agreement to push it before too late...it is final. The end.

Maybe we can ask our farm shifting specialist to move our farm to Thailand?. Then we might have some little hopes.

It is getting worst n the leaders don't care much except worry their stay in power will be very short n trying to walup anything they can grab....sad...very sad indeed.

Good price. I will let go mine if offer this price but maybe the buyer saw my few hundreds grams so not interested...soap....its not easy to accumulate few hundred grams of bn...it takes 5 harvest just to collect 50 nests n that is a lot already....soap...n that is three months of waiting...soap....n 50 times climbing up n down ladder to collect it n risking our life as anything can happen during the climbing up n down..soap..one step mistake,we will fall down n hit our head....soap...

Soap....no more mood to talk abt bn anymore....soap.

Exco Kerajaan Tempatan, Bekalan Air, Sumber Air dan Tenaga, YB Dato’ Ir. Phahrolrazi Zawawi berkata, selepas program pemutihan dilaksanakan maka pihaknya dapat mengawal aktiviti perusahaan burung walit dan juga dapat memantau operasi industri ini daripada semua aspek termasuk perancangan, pemeliharaan alam sekitar, nilai estetika dan kepentingan awam.

Beliau berkata demikian semasa bercakap di sidang media mengenai melaksanakan Program Pemutihan Premis Burung Walit Negeri Kedah Darul Aman di Wisma Darul Aman.

“Program pemutihan yang dijalankan adalah untuk memastikan pengusaha mematuhi garis panduan dan bagi menjamin kualiti sarang burung walit yang dihasilkan.

“Melalui program ini pengusaha perlu mendaftar dan memohon lesen sementara dengan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT) dengan bayaran RM180 berbanding kadar biasa yang lebih tinggi,” katanya.

Menurutnya, selepas mendapat lesen sementara ini, mereka perlu memohon lesen tetap untuk premis tersebut yang melibatkan dua kaedah.

Premis yang mematuhi garis panduan akan diberikan terus lesen tetap manakala yang gagal patuhi garis panduan pula akan diberikan tempoh lima tahun untuk berpindah.

“Garis panduan yang dibenarkan adalah rumah burung dibina di kawasan zon industri atau pertanian, manakala bagi zon kediaman dan premis perniagaan tidak dibenarkan.

“Kita tidak akan bertindak kejam dengan merobohkan bangunan itu tetapi akan meminta mereka memohon lesen sementara untuk tempoh lima tahun,” katanya.

Tambahnya lagi, kerajaan negeri tidak akan lagi berkompromi dengan pengusaha burung walit sekiranya mereka tidak mematuhi Kod Amalan Baik Penternakan Burung Walit Jabatan Veterinar, selepas program pemutihan berakhir 30 jun ini.

Pengusaha yang masih berdegil dan enggan mendaftar dengan PBT dan Jabatan Veterinar serta tidak memiliki lesen, maka mereka akan berdepan dengan tindakan tegas termasuk denda dan bangunan dirobohkan.

“Selain itu, disebabkan masih ramai pengusaha belum mendaftarkan premis mereka selepas pelancaran program pemutihan bermula 1 Julai hingga 31 Disember  2011 lalu, maka kita akan lajutkan lagi tempoh sehingga 30 Jun ini.

“Selepas Jun ini kita tidak akan teragak-agak untuk mengambil tindakan berdasarkan Undang-Undang Kecil PBT kerana sudah banyak kali kita bertolak ansur dalam garis panduan ini,” jelasnya.

Katanya lagi, dianggarkan jumlah keseluruhan premis pengusahaan burung walit di Kedah adalah sebanyak 1910 tetapi yang mendaftar hanyalah sebanyak 872 buah.
