Selangor state government is not fair to implement the same law for all including those at the outskirt of the cities, small towns and padi fields where livelihood of town folks badly affected.

But reading the comments in Mkini, farmers got ourselves to blame for selfishness blasting sounds creating nuisance. If all work together to minimize nuisance to public, of course we will have louder voice with the support of general public. But after reading the comments, got to slap own self first before speak.

68 comments in Mkini vs 7 in Low Yatt yesterday. 10vs 1. How to fight? flex.gif cry.gif

TNB first to celebrate on 1st Jan 2014 at 12am with 15% hike in electricity, follow by the rest of the industries.

Just hope birdnest price will increase as swiftlets too will boycott for rampant harvesting of the virgin nests due to low price. smile.gif

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

The basis and main core of Selangor Government's Exco YB Teng to ban swiftlet in shop house is that
"SWIFTLET will CAUSED DISEASES (H1N1) !"

http://news.sinchew.com.my/topic/node/415305?tid=751

“若燕屋帶來難以估計的疾病、噪音、空氣污染等問題,最後被攻擊的仍是州政府。”
他披露,州政府嘗試與他們洽談或許能給予延長期限,不過,燕窩商的不滿主要在於拒絕搬遷,但此事是州政府無法妥協的。

Hiya this Teng fellow is a politician. This not the first time he made hoohaa for the sake of politics. Y u think he even attack BH at paddy fields? Whatever it is, last thing we want to see this industry hijack by the politicians for political agendas.

To be fair to MB Selangor, guess his hands are tide with so many issues in Selangor, top most probably water issue. He got to sing with the loudest in Exco like Teng suppose. Kudos to him for turning hundred of millions yearly deficits to $2 billions reserve now in Selangor state. It is ashamed to know salary of MB Selangor is same as a Manager salary in private section, far from even a GM. The team deserve pay rise for $2 billion saving. Even with town council assessment cut in PJ of nearly 30% since 2008, they can still save so much $$. We should let professionals be the administrator of states and government instead of politicians like Teng alike.

GST is great, similarly with TNB hike as we are having the among cheapest electricity bill in SEA. Just like birdnest should price above 4k instead of below 2k. Action only taken after crude oil depleting fast and nobody care what the old man did in the '80 using oil money to subsidize and gain political mileage and put us in the current state now. With oil money, anyone can do wonders like in Dubai. Young generations are the ones going to suffer and clean up the $hit left over by the old man and his supporters. Question is not about price hike but how are they going to cut cost instead of continue allow leakages and corruption lost of $170+ billions yearly according to world bank data with 1.4 million civil servants on par with Greece to feed.

Omar and Chuah Junior Burger have failed us. Now Teng and supporters try to be funny. Last thing we want is the industry hijack by politicians. Bring them on to court like what Philoswiflet said to buy time.

Najib and Khalid got bigger headache than all. So learn from swiftlets how to survive one day at a time. The storm will pass, hopefully soon.

Happy 2014! laugh.gif

2. The birds produce nests multiple nests in a row of more than a foot long that HM once said that it was made by the king of swiftlets but we old timers know too well to be fooled. Maybe polygamy, possible with 10 wife living together in a row. hahahaha.

Hope those famous local Pak Bloggers wouldn't claim glory with their aromatherapy snake oil that create hamsap swiftlet..

Ya, tried all kind of snake oil local made even direct import from Indo pioneer with decades of experience those days but no as effective as they claimed.

Best still nature bird shit than listen to their BS and get c*n off hard earned money.

2 reasonably well-doing BHs, 1 big 1 small near my area also automatic closed down in the recent weeks due to low price. Friend with many successful BHs also closed down his less successful newer ones.

Guess owners need space for business and cannot endure long deep depressive low price.

On positive note, dip in ringgit value will help to increase price and sustain survival of remaining existing Bhs. God Allah Tuhan has mercy on Msia ...

Thanks WW for update. Price up many still don't know.

Too bad, I just check with a friend who has many BHs assuming he knows the latest pricer. Only back to town once a month and let my old folks do the selling while I do the farming, harvesting and meeting arrangement. Anyway, learn the lesson. sad.gif

Found 15 dead birds scattered all over 1st floor.
Torso and head not found.
Only wings, tails, feathers and down left on the floor.
Need sifus opinion, based on the evidence on the "crime scene", what kind of predator could have caused such pattern?
My first thought was owl but owl swallow it's prey whole right?

Try to find entry point of the rats to your BH and close it up. Get rats poison that people use for palm oil plantation. Within weeks can kautim if you managed to find and close the entry point.

From own experience, rats breeding in my BH, managed to close the entry point, by hand killed near 6-7 offsprings trapped near the toilet with spade bruce.gif (grose ). Rat poison did the rest of work finished of the parents in the next visit. Any vertical pipes or wood that allow the rats to climb cover them with aluminum sheets.

Left behind like your case feathers all over the floor. rip to both birds cry.gif n rats

Hi Just caught a musang in our BH. There were dead birds with only their wings found in certain places inside . Those farmers growing fruit trees around their BH be aware that the musang is also into birds.

Also for those who have or are scare of bird mites going into their ears try spraying fendona onto earplugs for 7 or 8 ( their breeding cycle) consecutive nites or longer  before you sleep or every time you enter your BH. You can buy these plastic plugs  along with swimming goggles in department stores. Tried buying these plugs separately but they wouldn't sell. Or wear a shower cap before you enter your BH !!
*
True, few yrs back saw a musang climbed up the BH through sewerage pipe to the roof top watching birds returned near the entry hole then returned through tree branch. Using catapult trying to shoo the bugger away. Solution replace the old solid sewerage pipe with PVC pipe which is much harder to climb for both musang and man.

Come on, Chinese medicine shop how many selling white nest? Most yellow nest claim to be from the man made 'cave' wor bangwall.gif

The way the industry going:-

1. more BHs close shop
2. more young birds dying before even hatching
3. more nest kena whitening
4. more kissing goodbye to hard earning $$ bye.gif

Dear all,

recently I started my BH project, after years of planning $. I have piling area 100ft x 30ft and starting to make foundation. I have been told to make BH split into 2, each side have its individual inlet.

will that be better/ higher yield/ faster nesting or will that be a bad idea to split house into 2 and having 2 entrance? innocent.gif
Regards
Alex

For big BH like urs, 2-3 entry hole is fine so long able to control brightness.

Do note that this is high risk investment esp BH in agri land. So many millions gone down to drain with small harvest, just look around. Even town BHs which are lower risk closing down 1 after another. Buying over existing BHs will be lower risk as many are selling at huge discount now.

Dont get con by many so call sifus that promise sky and moon. Watch out.
