agreed. but to me the 1st deterrent is light. I never had issues until my light not working and my worker didnt inform me. last harvest I found out that my bh just got owl invasion again.. 2nd time this year. so eerie when walking in and the house is quiet. Caught one.. but could not locate its mate... the hunt continues. [/quote Owls invasion will cause a decline in the birds as owl eats birds as owl cannot digest bones so they vomit the bones out thru their mouth if there are too many bones in its stomach. Occasionally, you will find tiny birds feet with bone instead the usual owl's shit in your birdhouse. Once I did try to release an owl after catching it but because I want to ensure that the owl would not return. I drive 40 km to a oil palm estate just for the owl but alas, the owl was dead on arrival; most probably due to heart attack. One friend told me that he has solved Owl problem by having 5ins. bar gap across the entrance hole. I may try it as mine is 6.5 ins, doesn't work. Maybe, 4.5 ins to be safe but whether birds can fly in or not...hahaha another problem. Anyone here tried it already?
As from a friends. 4 inch interval of wire at the entrance. Not steel bar. (Because the owl can crawl on the steel bar). This only apply for new comers. For those had experience in your bird house. Have to kau tim first |

Since you had that serious of owl problem, why dont you try and share us the result.
just a 4 inch interval wire gauge 14 at the outer face of your entrance hole. Horizontally. Remember. Is wire. Not steel bar |

QUOTE(ta5851 @ Dec 8 2015, 12:56 PM) Give u one suggestion, besides the wire at outside, maybe u can install one transformer fence system at the bottom (inside) .In case the owl manage to craw inside, it will get electrical shock. Bro... can you share the photo of your transformer? Thanks |
