hi guys - i've been seriously thinking about swiftlet farming at palm oil estates in Perak, i was thinking since there's land and why not build a swiftlet house. My first project is going to start small due to budget.

The first point to ponder would be, are the estates have got swiftlets and worth investing? Can the sifus here give some pointers? would be great if PM me to discuss further.. Thanks.

Why put your head into "tum pui" which is full of shit and urine?

You did better visit dirty toilets more often to learn if you really insist to build one.

Bro, not bad. you even have the still of them standing and staring at your camera lens !!! How did u catch and get rid and prevent revisit ?

Mine was twice as tall and 2x white & handsome. Went into BH and it took flight without letting me to get an autograph...

Now, Entrance hole is 1/5 the size of the previous one, many spikes, rat glue and fish nets inside to prevent re-visit. So far so good...

Take out the nests to sell for $ and no brain/heart/moral whether there are eggs or young birds or not.

Hello all swiftlet farmers,

My dad got a birdhouse wanted to sell come with land, anybody interested?

Location: Pahang, kuala lipis (famous for swiflet, in the middle of palm oil estate)

Land: 1 acre plus

Building: 3 stories

Utilities: Water and Electricity

Revamp: Just done 3 weeks ago by very well know consultant "Pak Harry", previously 100+ existing nests. The revamp is quite major, now set to go with all new with 6 cctv, all new wiring, etc.

Reason: Old age and im not interested to take over very dirty job.

Price: Around RM800k (Nego, if you ok with the bird shits all those)

Please call my dad at 019-3338307, he is a rough man but is the decision maker. If you want contact me also ok 012-3308403 but in details and technical wise err hmm.

Very serious seller, looking for serious buyer also.

Thank you.

Lowyat forumer,

I just sold my 2kg birdnest around rm4k per kg lump sum..
My birdhouse is in Sarawak..
Haha..that why i need to know the current price before i sell nest out...
If we wan to protect the price..you should create 1 social media group for us farmer so we can know the latest price before we sell it out..

4K Lump sum? Your nests must be whiter than white. How you maintain this kind of standard, Sifu?

Hi all, Singaporean here and planning to build a swiftlet house with a relative in Sabah.  Just met the contractor who tested with his sound at the site.  Attracted some 150 birds.  His quote was RM55/sq ft for just the building.  This being in agricultural land in Sabah.  He is simply replicating a consultant's design for a 2-sty 20x80 BH that he had built before.  Apparently there are no government permits required or engineer's "chop" here.  Is this how BH are built in these parts of Malaysia?

My experience told & is still haunting me BETTER DON'T THINK OF doing such thing with remote relative. UNLESS
you plan to MIGRATE there after commissioning of the Birdhouse.

Donate $$$ to charities in SG or worldwide BETTER. You GONG DE WU LIANG, at least.

PLS DON'T. I say again.

What's the current status / stage / progress?
*
Status : Stagnant @ 500 to 700 nests
Stage : 6 yrs plus
Progress : Young birds fledged and left. < 10% remain. Some adult residents also left. Old residents grow old and gone.
Didn't do any major revamp.

May or may not be your own BH problem since there were satisfactory growth throughout the previous years. New competitors rise up in recent years? Nearby vegetation area got developed? Have you checked and changed deteriorated tweeters? 6 years is time to change.
*
At least 6 mega BHs around. Average and not super good.
Vegetation nearby is around sungei pahang. Not sure got bug change or not.
Speakers were replaced every now and then. Old cable almost all out and replaced with tin-copper pink insulation type.

Internal sound changed twice.
