Remember, my friends....all must stand Tall!!!!!
Also, remember that we are still Gentlemen even if we are dealing with thugs!!
All we are asking are what righfully our's and we are not beggers......what's crime or bad things have we done to deserve such dirty action from the Gmen. We are a bunch of decent and honest men trying hard to make a clean living and we didn't even get a tiny loan or little aid from the Gmen in this industry.

We don't mind that our nests to be exported by international law and regulations but not Guidelines purposely created to rip us of our hard work.

If like this, you build BHs and wait for years while I monopolized the export when you have nests to sell.....we saw how the farmers suffer in the hand of the middle men and I forget that technically, we are also farmers and now, we share the same fate.

We act now cos NOW is already late.....any later, we won't have enough men standing as many are already gone.

QUOTE(ChanK @ Jul 18 2012, 01:43 PM)
This morning news gives us some facts tht actually happening now :

1) our fed association mentioned tht their main concern is to speed up bird'nest export to china. The govt should SLOW down on RFID implementation. Installing RFID in farms will take a long time to do. THis is the stand of our federal association.

2) the farmer association urge all their members and farmers not to go as the 21.7 does not protect farmers as all farmers reject RFID as china never insist on RFID,as long as bn is below 30ppm then we export.

3) the action committee also rejected RFID totally and they want free trade for this industry. We should not allow only few big processors to do the processing n we don't even have tht many workers to do it. We should allow small processors in kampong to do the processing n as long as they meet the requirement, govt shd allow it to export.
They will go to the 21.7, but if fed asso insisted on RFID slowly, they will walk out.

Hope this help those who can't read Chinese.
*
We all go but do bring along Banners to show that we are against RFID or any form to manipulate us. We are no small children and we know what we are doing. Take action against those who created Red nests, fake nest or cheater!!!! Put dishonest exporters in Jail for we care and our only concerns are that no one should be allow to monopolise the industry for self interest nor we want any interference from the authorities in our operation. Let market force decide our price and buyers determine the qualities they want and we the producers can decide if we want to sell or not but never our own Gmen to create unjust condition in favour of a few men and sadly, some are in our Fed Association, too.

We are there not because we are Pro Fed but we have enough of the nonsense and any protest for the betterment of the industry, we will help and support. We can be there to support them but we can also add our goodies and do spread our desires and wishes with the biggest banners and loudest voice. SO, any objection or advice from any Association like a present BH Association calling us not to attend the protest; I will tell them to fly kite and where were they all these while we suffer and cried wetting the pillows. Tell all to attend and let the whole world know that we are really very angry and mad over what our Gmen are doing the whole year...prevent us from exporting our EBN.

NO RFID unless this is what require by the buyers but if only China wanted it, then there shouldn't be a law that state that I must follow cos I need not follow if I am not selling to that specified country. Now, News has been reported that Biggest buyer, CHINA never insist the nonsense RFID and only our country wanted them to accept it in the agreement....surely, the Chinese isn't signing some Stupid requirement which they also think that it's useless but our Minister has other thinking......the more the requirements mean more chances to make more monies from us..............all are our own Gmen doings and why.... no wonder our minister said that we have signed and China hasn't sign yet and if I am the Chinese Representative, I would sign such silly doc unless I also has a share in the profit.

Really, if another country (just quote Taiwan) buy our nests and only requests pure and not specified any PPM nonsense then we should be allow to export EBN at any PPM level provided always our nests are harvested and original from the swiftlets without any additives or chemical added.

Above are my opinion only and "without prejudice" to anyone .

Like I said, No RFID and if China want it then it shall be be for those who want to export to China and no place else..... If the Fed. Asso. want just to postpone the RFID for their conveniences to clear present cheap EBN lots that they are holding, but we will say "NO to RFID, not now or later" loud and clear with our banners if anyone here bringing any.

The minister argue that RFID is for our sake and I said that Rubbish!!!!
Nothing can prevent us from swapping the nests if we are dishonest...so there isn't a way to trace the source of any nest if we want to cheat.. also, what if the RFID is stolen and who going to pay for it.

It will just create more opportunities for enforcers to make money thru bribe and for those given the rights to slaughter us.....we making penny and they make the most....

I don't what about other countries exporting requirements to China (previously not allow) and I heard that they have higher PPM requirement...so, why the double standard or is it our own people doing the magic again....

Again, my opinion on the matter and without prejudice.

What's if Gzhou and our Fed. Wholeseller Assoiciations join hand and make a kill like the in the National Geography video of the Dolphins, seals and sharks join in to make one big successful killing of the sardine run and that's make me wonder if I am one of the sardines.

Hopefully, We aren't SARDINE here or else, habis kita semua.

Only "IF" lah but I believe that our Fed Wholeseller Association Kry Officers are better than that "sharks and Associates" in the video........or else, we shall ensure that they too die in the Sardine run.

Without prejudice in all my postings or referring to anyone in particular unless you admit that it's you not just "look like me, sound like me but not me"; the greatest joke of the year then. hahahaha....

QUOTE(ChanK @ Jul 19 2012, 02:50 PM)
this morning news,

Press ppls said now we not even discuss with govt but two association already fight with each other.

Our minister said the RFID is one of the requirements in OUR guideline to export,so who said it is not in the guideline.

He also encourage the farmers association to attend the meeting on 21.7 instead of protesting on 29.7.

Then our federation association urged Farmers association to attend this week meeting.

And he stressed tht each association have their own objectives and the federal association objective all the while

IS TO DEAL ONLY WITH ALL EXPORT MATTERS AND TO RECEIVE ORDERS OF BIRD'S NEST.
Is tht mean they never represent farmers at all during all the meetings with the govt?

Then who is representing us?
*
I wonder why the RFID is in the requirements for export when China never insist of it and why tie our own hand while other countries can freely export their nests. Secondly, why 30PPM while other countries 70PPM and the only logical reason is that someone want to control our export and that only selected few can thru processed nests. Unprocessed nest cannot obtain the 30PPM standard requirement required by our G'men.

We will attend the protest and we rather call it a Protest and never a forum cos we are there to voice our displeasure over the whole affair which many Questions or that our Fed Association may has a hand in it, too. We should be allow to export once China allow us to and no one esp our own elected G'men should be not be the one to prevent to do so.......now, they even barred us from exporting to HK without the RFID, why???????????

I only heard of buyers require this or that standards or specifications but never the producers country insist on special specifications and requirements which the buyer never want in all my life....or are the Minister going to announce that Malaysia is No.1NEST !!!!!!!

I am not stupid or am I getting Old and Crazy?????

Hope to see all there and make this the biggest ever held function concerning the industry. The Fed Association may call for this function but the majorities there shall decide the outcome!!!!!!

I was there and It's GOOD and it could be better if you all were there..... sorry, I wasn't here a day before cos I went to KL a day earlier. I would not be able to wake up at 4AM to join our Club to KL for the forum/protest and so I went one day earlier.

The Gmen did and must heard our protest and it's isn't Pro Gmen or Pro BN affair and it's was a Pro NO RFID things. Thank all who attended cos we make these Gmen officers lose creditability and faces at the fourm with our one voice and united stand. "NO RFID" all the way but sorry that the "no 30ppm" wasn't in the banners at the day.........if 70ppm, then, we maybe able to export our unprocessed nests otherwise, it shall be all processed nests in the future....and that's what our Gmen wanted to. Their excuses is that we should and must processed our nests and not to let others make the most out of our nests.

I strongly disagree on the their way of doing so and should be that unprocessed nests should be allow to export and meanwhile, the Gmen may help to build up the processing of our nests and maybe our processed nests maybe the No.1 nest in the world but never can be the biggest producer and that; the title for the Indo for many years to come.

If we are to prevent our unprocessed nests to export, we are helping the other countries to gain more as we are unable to export due to the restriction from our Gmen itself.......and the authorities at forum blamed all these restrictions at the Chinese side and we all know the real culprit and today, internet and facebook cannot be blocked like our newspaper and that's why I quit reading the local paper a year ago........ we boos and cried BOHONG @ forum!!!!!

We pissed them right at their faces and they did try to lie and didn't get into our head except for a few people who told us to quiet down to listen to those lies.

We were all Pro EBN and good work for all @ 21st. and for those didn't attend and will attend the 29th. protest, hope that you will do us well.

Yes, on 29th. protest and I can't go but hope that someone bring along banner of NO 30PPM but 70PPM like others

No please anymore cos we are angry, feel cheated and mad and we demand our freedom, The freedom to export like everybody else meaning other countries. Please is for no more "cheating on us" and making us like FOOL for a year.

Honesty and truthful are what we want for our Wakil Raayat and those Gmen officials are supposedly servants to the Raayat and not our BOSSES lah! So, serve us and no more LIES and Bullshit!!!!!

News just came out,our datuk liaow said by Monday all nests can export to china Liao.

Tetapi....Tetapi!!!!

All nests must have RFID attached in each box. And he never mentioned raw nests can export or not.

So, what is tht means?

Seems liked tukar packaging but ubat sama kan?

Hai, why after 21.7 still the same one....

Maybe we have to gives them even more pressures on 29.7.

We have to attend 29.7 protest in safari club, opposite juru bird park.

1pm.

Anyone going there? Since we have learn to shout please,please,please...we should also have to learn.

Please step down, please step down, please step down.
*
DL has sent me SMS requesting support for the 29th. since I will be in London at the time, maybe we can help them to spread the news and request support for the protest. Anything is better than sitting down and await for the guillotine.

Or maybe there need not a protest anymore if the MOA do a 180 degree turn like CSL in the recent paper. If everything back to normal, then all peace and many thanks to AJIB KOR if he lend us his powerful hand........ but there isn't much time and we surely hope to hear the good News in 2 days.......my opinion only.

Added on July 24, 2012, 8:35 pmOur Minister said RFID is requested by China Govt woh...believe it or not?

NO. BS.
*
One says this and the other says that; We ranchers are the losers and we just want to know why we need RFID in the first place as even if what the Minister said is true, we aren't effected as we are not exporting at all. If the Minister or his Deputy or his officer were lying and mislead the Raayat, we, the Raayat demand his resignation!!!!!!

We read from reliable sources that there was no such need and if other countries do not need it, why do we need it or is it our own doing that make the Chinese require the special requirement from our country. From what I gather that our neighbors do not need RFID and only 70PPM and why our's 30PPM or is this a way to prevent us from exporting unprocessed nests and need to sell to the selected processing plants in Malaysia to export.

Secondly,
1. If really required, only export to China will be effected and not to other countries.
2. China should follow international regulations and by its own regulations or is it our own doing.
3. If China really insist it , the exporters should be the ones that need it in order to export to China and for that it's none of our buz at all..........
4. Why ban the export to HK when HK never require such regulations and only HK can decide if we can or not export to HK and not up to our authorities to meddle or be involved. The authorities are there to help and make it more easier to export and not the other way round. How HK going to export the nests are not our concern at all even if HK buy and burn all; it's their nests then and what to prevent them from saying the nests are of Thailand or any countries at all.
5. Only the Chinese authorities can impost these requirements on us and then, the exporters here and others will need to abide the requirements or otherwise the goods will be confiscated by the Chinese Authorities. We hope our authorities to help us to be able to export but not to prevent us from export or cause more hardship than what we are suffering now....

My opinions on the matter discussed.

Well said. Recently, our Gomen really treat us like small kids or "mental cacat" people. Things that they said are just rediculous and no responsibility. I am really worried for our next generation.

I was there last Saturday and he always used "tetapi" to give us a warning... I wanted to ask them what is their "value" in the whole issues? We don't need a postman or blood sucker in between..
*
A little politic if all don't mind:

I only wish the MCA understand that why MCA was set up and that's to represent the Malaysian Chinese but if MCA don't and fail to protect us and need the Umno to do so and also the Gerakan which so far never said a good word for us; then it's shall be a case of " Harap pagar, Pagar makan padi"...then we shall burn down the pagar....... then, we all shall join UMNO....

I was there, too but was so mad and angry when he mentioned "Tetapi" that we are very closed to be able to export to China and if we are against the RFID, then it's back to square one. I cried out "BOHONG" and "TIPU" cos if they really want to help, then even if they need to walk to China, they would have been back a long long time ago!!!!!! He was trying to scare us and we aren't afraid anymore cos we have already gone thru the scare part long ago and now we are mad; MAD and ANGRY cos we have been played out and been cheated all these time!!!!

Presently most of BH owners are Malaysian of Chinese origin. Again, my opinion out of anger and I am not of the opposition but borned MCA life member.

Apology if needed. without prejudice as usual.

Actually I still not clear about RFID? The China request the tracking from processing factory or start from the farm? If from the factory why don't just go ahead as long as raw nest can export as well?
*
I am not an exporter but will tell you this that with the new regulations, there is no way for unprocessed nests to be exported @ 30PPM and why.

1. Unprocessed nest do carry some waste and exporters will need to wet the nests before shipment to prevent any damage to the nests. By wetting the nests, the Ns will increase during the transportation and will end up having higher PPM than approved.

2. There will no way to export unprocessed nests if they insist on 30 PPM and even at 70PPM, one must also clear most of the waste in the nests in order to pass the requirement. So, at 70PPM, most of my nests will not passed unless I partly clean the nests of the waste inside.

My friend once send his unprocessed dry nests for test and found to be lower than 30PPM and he never know that by wetting the nests and seal it in to the boxes will increase the N by many time if you don't ensure it clean...

Am I correct as I am not an professional expert or scientist for that matter; just one "busybody who talk too much".

Maybe, our KL can add his comment on the matter?

Well,on the way back from London and what's latest news?????????

The Britons are complaining of all tickets sold but at least 20% of the seats are empty........here, hopefully, better news on EBN???? There, the Chinese and Korean want to lose @ Badminton and it's the first time in Olympic that both sides want to lose and black card for both team, what's a laugh. A disgrace for England in this Olympic....I think with it, down come the present Govt, too.

Still nothing on EBN and the protest's result and what's Ah Jib Ko say???

Oh yes!!!!

Just phone up my local Swiftlets President and was told that Ah Jib Ko has instructed that no RFID required and now, it's up to the department to change the Protocol agreement...

Now, shouldn't the export of EBN be allowed to other places like HK where there isn't any restriction on EBN?

I also heard that Indo and Thai may face difficulties to export EBN to China due to the Ban of bird flu affected countries which Malaysia is free from and for that, the problem may arise that the neighboring countries may again want to use Malaysia as a gateway to China once the requirement is not there............

Just my 5 sen information on the matter and anyone has better or more reliable infos, pls forward here for all to know and have peace of mind........... don't curse me if wrong as I M just trying to help all @ swiftlets.

Welcome home. Maybe Chinese swimmer has EBN regularly which explains for her phenomenal swim.

Penang missed much support from EBN house owners from the East Coast. Maybe you can organise another rally in the East coast.

Indonesia will always want to use Malaysia as an outlet because of the Import duties. Quote HKTDC "In China import duty for HS 04100010 birds nest is levied at 25% plus VAT 17% ad valorum (on value basis, not on weight basis) for import from most favoured nations."

Also Malaysia will get blamed for high nitrite, adulterated EBN, Red EBN etc. when EBN from Indon is re exported through Malaysia. A very clever move by some greedy Malaysians
*
Without Prejudices

Rumor has it that the RFID requirements was caused by some in the Fed. Swiftlets Associations in cooperation with the Govt. Department Heads to skin us well and that this has backfired and if this is the truth, I am scared that there will be backlashes and revenge on us, BH owners and exporters later as we cause them to lose alot in miscalculated greedy venture..

As I said that it's just Rumors only unless someone here have evidence on it and so all said/posted here are " without prejudices " otherwise someone may want to sue me on the matter. These days, we can't afford being sued, legal and court fees are very expensive......may come to million ringgit!!!!! Winning or losing is another matter and only Lawyers make the money.

QUOTE(philoswiflet @ Aug 4 2012, 06:39 AM)
A successful farmer told me don't need to change sound at all if it still attract birds and the nest growth still increase... it means if something is working well, why change?

For myself, I often change the sounds. So, if your farm is successful and nest growth is good, and since you are scare about making this change... then just let it be; don't change for the sake of change unless you are confident that the change will make things much better.

I do not think the birds will be scared and become unfamiliar if you change the sound after 7 years... as long as the sound is a good one. Even if the sound is an average one, they will still come back to their nests. Just make sure its not SOS/distress sounds or fighting sounds. Good sounds are needed to attract young birds from outside your farm to visit and perhaps stay permanently.
*
I strongly advice that no sound should be change if the birds still coming and if only for that particular time that you see no birds, it doesn't mean that you are not attracting any birds; use your other senses esp. common sense and see around you and if others BHs also no birds, do you think by changing sound, you will get birds. Then, if that the truth, I will advice you to pray to GOD and He may do better job cos where to find birds if there are none in the sky at that moment and only GOD can help you at that moment as only He has the power of creation and not any super Konsultants. Birds are no human and human, I still prefer Oldies and never take the liking to the new songs and I find these new human songs tasteless but it only me or are there many that share my feelings and afraid to say out for fear of being branded Old or out of time.

Remember your reason of using sound is to get birds and if bird are coming, then why change and pls. remember the saying of the man and his giant snake. You may chase away the very new birds supposedly yours in the very near future. Change sound only when you find your sound isn't effective anymore.........then, you have all to gain; these you need not SunTzu or Kong Tzu to teach you and little me will do......... Someone told you that the birds will get bored with the old song same days after days and who is He who told you this or is He the swiftlet God!

He is just another human and if he is selling sound, then he must has $$$$$ reason to want you to do it........
For town BHs, so as not to disturb neighbors, I advice successful BHs owners not to use any more sound as these will disturb the neighbors and to prove the point, I pulled down all the tweeters wires and removed the Amps from my BH and till today......after 5 years of doing so, my BH still attract birds and the increment is very good. Although with sound, it maybe better but wrong sound will also worsen it, too but the point is that successful BHs can and will draw in birds by the incoming birds and original sound of the birds that you have. The Warning is that raayat are very unhappy with the sound pollution and each BHs are trying to outplay other in this art. Sooner or later, Owners themselves will be blamed for giving the Local Authorities the valid reason to move all BHs out of town. All you need is to give them the reason "Raayat Dahulu".

Hope friends here do share my view on the above subject and have different opinion, pls. do share and we are gain.........

Hi, just wondering, if a BH operates around 7years and never change the external sound (I think) and now if I change it, will it affect the current population inside the BH?? I scared when it's time to enter farm, they couldn't recognise the farm due to diff sound. They will then fly to nearby BH and overnight there? Or it won't affect at all? Hope someone here can enlighten me about this matter smile.gif
*
No worry, cos your Old Birds will remember your BH even if you repaint the BH as the birds have all good senses even the location of your entrance hole at dark night........did I mentioned that one friend change his entrance and some of his old birds flied straight in to the blocked entrance during the night..........a case of over confidence and did not use their sonar....

So many times they told us of D news and so many times they lied or is this one of their lies to shut our mouth for awhile until they come out with another strategy or should I say "How to skin a BH farmers".

These guys have tried to prevent us from exporting to China and failing to force us into submission due to the export of EBN to HK and then to China. They prevent us from even taking out the nests...like this also can and at least, we protest loudly and Ah Jip Ko overheard about it and intervened and now, they pretend to make correction and pray to God that I am wrong for otherwise there will still be another "Esok dan Lusa". If I am wrong, I gladly apologies with sincerity to "whom this may concerned" cos it's ll posted "without prejudice" at all and hope to see "Bright sky and everything nice" when we wake up tomorrow.

Since they told us everything is OK so export to HK and other countries should be allow immediately and the unpleasant and unhealthy banners at Airport taken off cos tourists will not be able to buy our birdnests and take out of the country. All my life, this is the first time that I see a elected government intentionally disallow home grown products from exporting for their personal gain. If there is a shortage for local consumption, that I will understand but then Malaysian don't really like to take Birdnests on regular basis and so much of birdnests, how to sell locally........... maybe, if we make them into "Keropok" and sell, then maybe laku...5 pcs for satu ringgit!!!!!!!!!

Why only September cos it's over Full Moon festival and another round of low price, I guess...or that no Flight to China until September???? Don't be happy yet cos the storm is still no over yet only we heard from the radio that blue sky is on the way.

The attached file of 33 pages is the drafted PROTOCOL that all of us totally objected and protested against by attending the 721 & 729 PROTEST ASSEMBLY. But today, many associated members of the Federation of Malaysia Bird's Nest Merchants Associations were misled by the several committee with less than 24 hours notice to attend an EMERGENCY MEETING with Datuk Dr Aziz the Ketua Pengarah of Department of Veterinary Service at 2pm 07.08.2012 in Putrajaya. The EXCUSE given was to discuss amending of the PROTOCOL pending to be signed on 20.09.2012.

Despite our protests and our disagreement on the spot and that we have the recording of the meeting, yet Dr Aziz refused and adjourned the meeting leaving us alone.

By signing and implementing the PROTOCOL on coming 20.09.2012, 95% of all in the industry will be bankrupt, wiped out and become jobless except the few cronies of the Ministers concerned. It is going to be sky breaking down on all of us.

We are very desperate and frustrated and as such, we hereby confirm that we will be publicizing the truth to all in the country and will be preparing to hold continuous waves of PROTEST ASSEMBLIES across the country as from now and as soon as possible.

Thanks for the link.

Btw, i wonder do you guys open the humidifier at night? I am still using the old taiwan humidifer but i noticed the humidity at top level is not sufficient although i open 45mins x 4 times a day. The nests are dry but some cracked though.

Perhaps swiftletgod humidifer or FogValley humidifier are better solutions? But then these humidifiers cost a bomb and not cost effective compared to taiwan which we can get at RM320-RM380 range

My opinion is that still the best is the Taiwanese H but then now the chinese is producing similar one at cheaper price.

USonic one, I used but all went kaput and alot of maintenance and so is the kopi shop type using powerful pump as the noozle tend to block very often and unless, you want to go in to the BH to inspect; best stick to the old faithfully.......

Ultrasonic and pressure type if you can spend and do have alot of time to maintain them and also, not really any difference in drawing the birds as far as I experiance.

Never use your humidifier at night as you will only disturb the birds and maybe, too cold for the birds to stay and maybe even old birds also fly away. Abit of caution here.

I just bought 12 pcs of Taiwanese H at Rm280/pc from a friend and don't ask me to buy cos I bought all his H. and use it at my newly build BH........... in case I need them.

What's other have to say about my comments, pls. forward.

And there's the study that shows the mist from Usonic humidifier is too tiny it can carry a lot of impurities in it, since the water droplets are so small your nose will not filter it you can inhale it directly into your lungs. Regular mist droplets are much larger your nose will filter it and not inhale it directly.

Think of the virus/bacteria from your BH that you might inhale causing future problems from using Usonic ones, I've stopped using mine since.

From wiki:

This is an extremely fine mist, about one micrometre in diameter, that is quickly absorbed into the air flow. Unlike the humidifiers that boil water, these water droplets contain any impurities that are in the reservoir, including minerals from hard water (which then forms a difficult to remove white dust on nearby objects and furniture), and pathogens growing in the stagnant tank. Ultrasonic Humidifiers should be cleaned regularly to avoid bacterial contamination which may be projected into the air.[I]

U and I learn that Ultrasonic H isn't good for BH as it carry too tiny mists with impurities that can enter our lung as our nose cannot filter the fine mist but then before these UH are used in BH, they are used in ponds in garden so there must have many people around suffered from pollution from these UH.......any findings on the matter.

Also,, will swiftlets suffer the similar fate like us or do these birds immune to the dirty micro mist from the UH; possibilities that their nose can filter out micro mist or that their immunity system protect them from all............if immunity is the reason,, we all are looking forward to at least a RM10K/Kg for EBN soon........." Take birdnest and be immune to bird Flu or any Flu for that matter"...........

HAPPY DREAMING, my friends.
