Hey, Hi guys. Erm.. anyone has any good recommendations for Saga LMST's tyres? I've been on this set of tyres for about 4 years+ and I guess it's about time to change.

Hi guys.. wondering anyone knows how much it costs to replace a proton saga LMST's alternator? My battery died and we determined the issue to be the alternator since the battery still had about 12volts even with the car running...

QUOTE(Peekab0o @ Aug 2 2012, 12:06 AM) Your battery died and then? Did u replace with a new one ? And new battery when car running meter only show 12 volts? Yep. We pushed started and drove the car home, bought a new battery, swapped the new one in. Voltmeter shows the voltage was about 12.2volts compared to 12.5 volts before we started the engine, so me and my dad suspect it's the alternator that's not working. (also because we push started and when I was driving home, even driving at 80 there just wasn't enough power for me to use the air cond, the radio etc (aka they'd just die and not work)) Btw where can i get those Bosch OEMs? Or the recond ones around subang area. I googled for iswara alternators and getting pretty shitty results

QUOTE(poolcarpet @ Aug 2 2012, 09:54 AM) To check if it's alternator problem, without starting the car, measure the voltage. If it's above 12 volts then batt is still ok (max should be 12.6volts). Then start the car, measure voltage again, if alternator is working, it should now read >14volts... p/s edited, sorry didn't read your post properly, think you said AFTER starting car, voltage is now 12.2 volts only right? then most prob alternator kaput (or connections to alternator loose). i think stuff like this, probably send to mechanic would be better I got a quote from a workshop around subang which I got through bosch's website.. about Rm300 for the alternator and fixing it... dunno whether I'm overpaying lol.
