im using the LAA patch...and only crash twice...once before the patch....second when an arrow hit my 9800GT....

how u guys view ur fps? fraps? or tdt? my tdt dont seem to work...

And I have yet to join any factions or guilds.

dude, im getting the same problem with u. I think got some error with steam.
jsut now i just delete local content and reinstall it from backup/retail dvd and update it like usual after finish installing. problem solved.

edit: the 1.3 patch is only 53 mb

find the blind man, hes in a cave near whiterun. Just sneak behind him and use 'always walk' key. (may take a few hours? go sleep, eat, watch tv etc)

Just random fixes:

1) Can't go to Markath because the guards will arrest you but you can't pay the bounty?

Solution:
Right before the guard engage you in a dialogue, when close enough; enter console with '~' then LMB click on the guard in the console, then type:
paycrimegold

This will force the bounty to be paid and you'll be spawned in front of the jail.


2) Farkas can't stop trolling you into dialoue? This is a known bug, it seems Farkas (or Vilkas, forgot which one) is programed to be a guard for White run.

Solution:
Same as the solution above, find any whiterun guards and 'force pay' your bounty with the console command of paycrimegold.
Before you do this, make sure Farkas isn't pursuing you anymore.
3) Tired of your followers died on you in a skirmish? You swing your sword around, unsheathed it, then realize Lydia is among the casualties?

Solution:
Set your followers to 'essential', this will make them collapse onto their hands and knees and stumble around for a period of time when low on Health, but won't die from fatal blow from your trigger happy Shouts and attacks.

To set essential: setessential <base ID> <1>

For example: setessential 000A2C8E 1 will turn ON Lydia to essential NPC. To disable, finish the same line with 0.

Or to find their BASE-ID in console, type: help <NPC name> 4 ; e.g. 'help Lydia 4' will show her ID.
Or go to console, LMB click on them to get the ID

Go to Ulfr The Blind (dead), then go to console (press ' ~ ') LMB click on the body to prompt the ID, then type resurrect. Enter.
