For those ppl who NEVER had companions dying, it just shows that your fighting playstyle is a cautious one.

If you are chaos and play like a barbarian, they will die. I should know, my 2nd companion (some hired dark elf from tavern) has died.

Battle was so intense with so many enemy, my companion was sadly slain by my own mace.

I felt nothing. No emotions. No remorse.

I'll get a mage companion next and see how that works out.

I rather run and enjoy the scenary and rocky mountains. If I need to go somewhere fast...just fast travel.

No point rushing the game innit ? Unless of course its to free up time for BF3, Batman, Dungeon Defenders, Heroes 6 or your choice of MMORPG.

i call that brains over brawn. i usually ordered them to stand outside while i venture to the tight corridors alone. Apparent skyrim is designed to be played solo and a buddy would be too tight to maneuver.

out in the open, creatures dont target down opponent

I play an Orc. They only have brawns.

i dont quite understand this soul gem thing and soul trap.

I know that soul gems are used for enchanting a weapon or armour. Assuming I use a soul gem to enchant a weapon with offensive spell (say fire) there will be a bar there to show how many times before the "charge" on the weapon runs out.

When it does run out, I just reload with a cheap soul gem to get the enchantment going again.

Question about soul trap :

(1) I got a 10 sec soul trap. So once something dies, which soul gem does it charge ? The one in the last weapon that produced the kill ?

(2) Some random empty soul gem in our inventory ?

(3) Why do ppl say never kill wolf for grand soul gem ?

basically its like this.

no 1 & 2
say you have all type of soul gem and you soul trap a bear(common soul)
the soul will go to the appropriate empty gem first(common).
if it is not available, it will search for the next larger empty soul gem(great, greater or grand).

no 3
the thing is, as previously mention above. the soul will go to the next higher level empty soul gem
if there is none of the same size available.
for eg say you capture a wolfy soul(petty) and you have only greater & grand gem that is empty.
your greater soul gem will be filled with petty soul which is a waste of money cuz u cant do topup laugh.gif
once a soul is filled it will stay.
so reasons for the warning is just a caution so that you dont accidentally filled a grand with petty soul.
but if u keep track of how many & what size of empty gem you have then u got no problem nod.gif nod.gif

ah kk dude. My mistake is that i didnt know that soul gems will be destroyed after being used to recharge an item. On that wolf thingy for a grand gem. You can drop the grand gem and pick it up again.

Should be empty when you pick it up.

aahh, now i know why lydia is such an incompetent chimp. she doesn't level up according to ours.

she fought countless battle with me and you're telling me she still level 6, damn you beth.

i found my favorite combination of injectors, recreates the feeling when i played witcher 2
*
u know, only once has my injectors gone on - and thats because i kept alt-tabbing. Most of the time it doesnt. Its supposed to auto on when u run the game innit ?

As a warrior I find the mages are a pain. Most of the time you have to avoid the other enemies and go straight for them. Two things can help:
1) Unrelenting Force shout - drop them and unleash hell on them.
2) Whirlwind Sprint - mage is too far? Use this shout and you end up in front of them to unleash the hurt. If you are lucky, you'd ram him and he'd stagger for you to unleash the hurt.

I prefer to slow time. Works well in all situations. I think its the most imba shout.
