Finally bought Skyrim on Steam today since I've heard so much good things about it.
Now just need to wait for the game to download.

When I first played Skyrim, I was a bit disappointed. Gave me headache in first person mode, then I felt the scenery was too grayish and the story wasn't interesting. Also the combat felt weird for an FPS, and I didn't like the menu interface, sometimes I click on an item, but it quits the menu instead.
So I almost uninstalled Skyrim. But after persevering a little more, the game grew on me. To solve my headache issue I use 3rd-person mode now. Also to make combat easier I just invested most my points in Twin-Hand/Heavy Armor. Now I've gone to more towns and areas, the game doesn't seem so gray, and the side quests are actually quite interesting (like the Saadia and Kematu one). Last problem the menu interface I can't solve, but I've learned to tolerate it. |

QUOTE(FinFin @ Dec 29 2011, 01:34 PM) I have the that problem too, when mouseclicking the menu sometimes it will just quit the whole menu. End up now I am used to navigate through the whole menu using keyboard (or sometimes just mouseover the item, then press E to choose instead of mouse click). Glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. This it has something to do with trying to be compatible with consoles. Anyway yeah I resort to use the keyboard when possible, seems more reliable than using mouse clicks.yea this game does get better the more u play. |

QUOTE(darkhorse_86 @ Dec 29 2011, 08:24 PM) That's exactly what I did lol. I think you get more gold that way in total, but I did it because I was curious to see what would happen. QUOTE(totorohui10 @ Dec 30 2011, 08:02 AM) I think might be because of the low FOV. I set the FOV to 90 because I get motion sickness previously. No wonder saw you play it quite often lately, hehe. Oh that would explain it. The FOV in Half Life 2 is also different and gave me nausea. That's why I had to change the FOV for Half Life 2. |

QUOTE(Ulysses @ Dec 30 2011, 12:41 PM) hi..did u guys feels that skyrim audio quite low even i put all max at the setting. i even use headphone to play this game, but still not enough..i just want to enjoy this game, their dialogue, battle in clear sound. ok..its a quiet game...no audio enjoyment at all QUOTE(Ulysses @ Dec 30 2011, 12:42 PM) For me the voice and sound effects is good, but the background music sometimes it's like totally unnoticeable at all. When it does play it's awesome, but sometimes they play some boring track. I think the background music is kind of inconsistent. |

You know what's more fun than playing side-quests, playing a serial killer.
My sneak is quite high now, so I spend a lot of my time assassinating every annoying Guard I see. ![]() » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

I use archery and sneak because my magic skills all very low-level (hardly level anything not related to physical attacks).
There are a few quests that require that you kill a giant. I was sneaking up on this giant, when suddenly this muthafriggin dragon came and interrupt. ![]() Too bad it pissed off the giant, and the giant killed the dragon lol |

I was wondering who Sheogorath was (never played Oblivion). Then I Googled and realized he's the wacko that gives you the Wabbajack.

Just joined Dark Brotherhood. Astrid gave me the Shrouded Gloves. Now combined with the Assassin's Blade perk, backstab damage is now multiplied by 30.

QUOTE(Koross @ Jan 4 2012, 10:45 AM) Unfortunately, there are no zonal damage in Skyrim. You either crit from a % based chance or from sneak. I am hoping someone mod that in when the CK comes out. Yeah there's no zonal damage. And no gravity effect too I think. But my old habits from using the Huntman in TF2 always make me aim near the head. |

QUOTE(kaizer3000 @ Jan 5 2012, 02:06 PM) hi guys, noob here...just wanna ask, why is skyrim so nice? coz i watched the beginning of the game in youtube, but a lot people are kicking the game literally...so many bad comments about the game. When I first started playing Skyrim, I didn't like it too. But that was because I was expecting something more like Dragon Age: Origins. I was expecting a clear cut storyline, clear cut areas and a party-based combat system. But I grew to enjoy Skyrim after I decided to explore the side-quests. They're more fun and some of them tell great stories (Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Companions). Seriously, you can ignore the "Main" questline for a while. I've reached Level 100 Sneak and I've just barely completed Act 1 of the "Main" questline. Also try playing the game as a Thief and Sneaking as much as possible. Nothing is more satisfying that killing everybody in a whole room without them even doing 1HP damage to you. Skyrim is not a party-based game. Yes you can hire a Horse and get many Followers, but you usually only can have 1 Follower at a time and they are friggin unreliable especially if you're trying to sneak. But it's still a lot of fun even managing a single character, you get to focus all your efforts on one person. |

QUOTE(kaizer3000 @ Jan 5 2012, 03:05 PM) kay, will try that game if i get the chance to finish dragon age II... XD The girls in Skyrim look better than the guys, and the armour looks good.btw, can we do anything about character looks? i saw the default characters in youtube, and they are either looking freaking stupid/blur face or dead ugly... the main reason i am still playing dragon age is becoz the champion girl i created looked pretty... lolz But I agree that Bethesda characters look really ugly compared to Dragon Age. |

QUOTE(Zephyr_Mage @ Jan 6 2012, 01:12 PM) The best thing about Skyrim is its trailer. I've never played Morrowind or Oblivion. Skyrim is the first Elder Scrolls game I've played, but I actually enjoyed the Thief's Guild quests. At least the early ones anyway. The Goldenglow Estate quest was fun to me. I sneaked and assassinated everybody in there.I'm really disappointed with the guilds. So boring. I used to love doing quests for the thieves guild in Morrowind and in Oblivion. The one in Skyrim sucked donkey balls. Also there's the Thief's Guild twist later on that I didn't expect that » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « But so far I think my favourite quests involves killing people, especially Giants. |

QUOTE(iamzacky @ Jan 6 2012, 02:18 PM) i hate killing giants. all i did was hit n run kinda stuff; i hit the guy, he chased me, i ran to the nearest river. he can't follow me there. go back. hit em again. I leveled up my sneaking to 100 and I can do backstab damage 30x.repeat. So Giants die with at most 2 sneak attacks for me. QUOTE(FinFin @ Jan 6 2012, 02:21 PM) for those who achieve 100 in enchanting/smithing/alchemy, may i know what else can u guys do to make the game more challenging? Play as a badass Viking. Use only Hands to kill people. since the day i achieve 100 in that three, everything is becoming so easy and it is actually ruining the fun. |

Don't need to mod to get Assassin's Creed armour.
Just get the real Thieves Guild Nightingale Armor. Looks better in my opinion: |

I started investing in Smithing only around Level 30+. I spent a few hours hunting for pelts and changing them into leather. I didn't know you could just buy leather and leather strips from Blacksmiths.
