QUOTE(Petre @ Nov 23 2011, 10:38 AM)
...
but the scoring rate is too poor imo. nothing to be happy just yet
if anything our scoring records show that our strikers cant score and we need to rely on so many players to provide the occasional goal
*
The commentator of the match did say on Saurez as well. He may be good, tricky, and can create something out of nothing, but stat wise, shot on goal not less than 40-50, but only 4 goals scored until now is not good enough stat.

Dunno why KD & team not about to get their tactics right with 'minnows'?

Anybody have the insight?

Simple, not clinical enough, when chance created, you must take it.
This is always the different between top 4 of the league vs middle table team.
Opponent make mistake, you must capitalise, then going to win 1-0. Just like what happened in the win over Chelsea match.

Also tempo is not high enough and movement of the ball is not quick enough.

Don't know my observation correct or not, the team play the ball better on the ground and pass and move more, with Kyut, Bellamy, Suarez combination.
While when Carroll in the team, resort to long ball, and movement become slower.

LOL, why fixture always like that.
Last time, CL also like that face Chelsea 3 times in 1 month time.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 2 2011, 08:15 AM)
Lucas gets injured and you lot want to buy another player? Seriously? We surely must have the most number of midfielders already. When Stevie returns, Adam will play a more defensive role but until then we have Spearing and Shelvey on the bench. The former has proven to be a reliable player having been a starter last season and the latter has been recalled after a successful spell at Blackpool. I don't think there is a need for panic stations when we have ample cover. No point in having an even biggest clutter in midfield when Lucas returns. I'd rather promote players than buy ala Football Manager.

On a totally unrelated note, Pitbull was friggin awesome last night!
*
Adam play DM role? sweat.gif
Adam is not known for tackling and reading opponent move or breakdown opponent attacking play.

The void left by Lucas, is someone can tackle and break up opponent move, close down, and Lucas has done plenty of interception that breakdown opponent threat.

Added on December 2, 2011, 2:12 pmThe one can fill the void, that I can see is Spearing.
Adam, Henderson are more on attacking sense.

How many chance needed to score 1 goal? doh.gif

If clinical enough, especially Suarez, now already 3-0 up. wink.gif

QUOTE(rushmode @ Dec 11 2011, 01:40 AM)
three points. beaitiful header by suarez. couldnt ask for more. but still a long way to be a contender for the top 4.

dont want to be a buzz killer but we need to kill this type of game early. last 15 mins makes me really nervous.  suarez and maxi should convert their chance.

we also need to make the corners count. we have like what? 793 corners and nothing coming out of it.
*
The corner mostly poorly delivered, be it Adam, or Downing one.
Even you with 100 corners, I don't think can score as well if like this.

So much of 10m worth corner eh? Low ball in to find QPR defenders. we had a freaking 17 corners and we cant convert ANY!

One of corner straight out (behind GK post), before reaching players at the center. sweat.gif

We've hit the posts more than any other team in the premier league. Some pundits even suggested that we should make the goal frame smaller at Melwood:-)

Can you imagine where we could have been if those 17 were nets and not posts? Can't be happier with our defence though. Agger and Skrtel are making Carra very jealous now..
*
or extend the goal post half an inch? biggrin.gif

Still Suarez squandered the chance (easy/gifted chance by hitting the post), and goal conversion ratio still not good enough, despite he always looks lively in most of the time, and trouble the opponent defence a lot.
A clinical/poacher type of striker is needed if want to get into CL (4th spot).

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has hit out at Liverpool over his £50 million exit from Anfield 11 months ago, and also said "I don't understand why the fans hate me".

But Torres has nothing related to the issue at all, and Torres transfer saga already a year old already. rclxub.gif

Liv players need to undergo intensive shooting skill.

If not aim to hit the goal post, then hit near to GK, make GK save like world-class save. doh.gif

my sentiments exactly. Suarez really deserves a goal. and not just today.
*
As much as I agree Suarez effort that should deserve goal, but if not clinical enough to finish off. Lot of off target shooting, heading, you don't deserve the goal.

Effort /= goal. Sadly to say.

well i never like the idea of buying stats proven players, all these how many complete crosses stats.. like maxi, bellamy, gerard are inteligent players its comfortable to watch them play n wat we can see..
*
Stat can lie one.

If a DM or CM player always like to just pass around with defenders and fellow midfielders with simply straight pass, then he get high passing conversion, vs
a adventurous, playmakers always try to make defence splitting pass, creating passes, surely he will get a lower pass completion ratio.

i agree to this. when we were facing villa, their defence were pushed up,, we could easily break them with a through ball but instead our team rely too much on the flanks...why not just send a through pass to suarez and let him have a go with the keeper?  i dont think any defender can stop him when his bursting through like that..
*
Defenders may not able to stop him, but GK, goal post, and his own shot has been letting down, 4 goals, after half season gone, and not less than 40-50 shot on goal, speaks the stat or situation, even ballooning a penalty shot before.

Burst through also need to put the ball into the net.

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ Dec 27 2011, 01:26 PM)
We've got Toons , City & Stoke in the next 3 games. We have wasted our chances to gain all 15 points from the past 5 matches which we should have won (all of them) including last night's.

No matter what has happened to Liverpool Football Club, its history and tradition has remained intact. It is that that separated us from other English clubs. We are the most successful English football club of all time.

Yes, of all time. Not City. Not Arsenal. Not Manchester United.

It's Liverpool Football Club.

At the end of the day, it is an honour to be associated with a club of Liverpool's stature. You should—as I'm sure you do—appreciate that and remember that you reflect Liverpool's belief and passion.
*
If not win the title, soon or later, there will be another club surpass.
Each year 1 title, 20 years not getting, mean there is club/clubs that getting 20 titles.

If City going at this pace, win the title year in year out, 20-30 years later, they may get 18 as well.
Same with MU, they may achieve 20, 25, 30, if not City or other club win it.

Yes, history and tradition intact, but need to address current problem inability to challenge the top.
