Watching the repeat with the volume up and noticed Luis Garcia's chant being sung by the away end.

I saw Dyer play against the mancs and he was giving Evra a torrid time so much so that Fergie had to replace him with Fabio. Reminds me of a young Shaun Wright Phillips. He showed no fear and took the game to Evra by running at him in one-on-one situations. Might prove to be good value.

QUOTE(digilife @ Nov 21 2011, 06:57 PM)
i hav a very strong feeling tat we will be the first team this season to beat MC, provided KD play the same lineup again, with Lucas and Adam playing the midfield duo , Maxi is sharp so is Bellamy, why did KD sub out Bellamy so soon?
*
Not all substitutions are made because a player is tired or having a bad game. Happens when you make a tactical switch and in this case we were clearly overrun in midfield and there is no point in having two forwards when you can't even get possession of the ball, hence Bellamy was sacrificed. That being said he was largely ineffectual up front in the second half.

QUOTE(Rotuham @ Nov 22 2011, 01:13 AM)
Hope they stop supporting liverpool. We dont need fans like them.Leave the stadium empty just now after the defeat.Very similar to some team but the context of my post is not to take a dig at that rival.
*
They do constitute for the largest number of LFC Facebook fans in the world but yeah I get what you mean. Passionate support is admired but the Indonesian fans are hostile. No place for them in any club for that matter.

Added on November 22, 2011, 8:46 amI posted a link of Nathan Dyer yesterday and it's now on .tv. No one seen him play then? This is a very real possibility unlike more popular transfer rumors involving the likes of Villa.

On a positive note, we've conceded the least amount of goals in the Premiership.

Dunno why KD & team not about to get their tactics right with 'minnows'?

Anybody have the insight?

Lot of work today so point form for me:-

1) Inability to break down tight defences. Big teams attack us. Notice the amount of space Chelsea afforded us in the first half. Also, Johnson's second goal was a result of a raking crossfield pass which he ran onto. To break tight defences, we need to move the ball instead of hoping for Suarez to dribble past 5 defenders - pass and move. This will improve as players play together more often and have a better understanding of one another. The Suarez-Bellamy-Maxi goal is a prime example. Quick ball movement making if difficult for defenders to adjust.

Actually, that's about all I have.

If I'm to be honest, we to muster a lot of shots on goal but most are half chances. We don't create many clear cut opportunities.

soccernet reporting that anelka might be available. second coming for another striker?

bellamy kuyt suarez anelka (+carroll). hey suddenly we can have a really fearsome striking line up
*
No Anelka please. His attitude sucks and no one likes him. Read what Robbie had to say about him in his biography. I want to see Adam Morgan progress to the first team.

Added on November 24, 2011, 1:10 pmBaffles me to no end how Enrique continues to be overlooked. I mean Capdevilla is old and Arbeloa is right footed. Neither have the pace Enrique has and whilst Arbeloa is arguably a better defender, he doesn't offer as much going forward. Oh well, Spain's loss is our gain.

Ah reminiscing about Torres are we lads? Well here's an ad I've watched countless times. I really miss doing the Torres bounce and singing his chant. Catchy as hell. Lost count the number of times I'd sing it at the top of my voice. I do wish him the best but certainly not while he is playing for one of our rivals, understandably so I hope. Club comes first.

Added on November 26, 2011, 10:50 amTime to reminisce some more. Our Rafa...

QUOTE
The former Liverpool Manager's love for the club isn't much of a secret. When he was viciously axed by the former owners, Rafa went to Inter Milan and once said that he didn't like the blue colours as it reminded him of Everton. Rafa has also been of tremendous help to the families of the Hillsborough victims along the years, also donating 96 thousand pounds when he left the club. Rafa received two standing ovations at the 2011 Hillsborough Memorial Service and was seen weeping in the crowd. Rafa will always be remembered for the right reasons at our club.

QUOTE
Samuel fell in love with the club after attending a Merseyside derby while shooting the movie 'The 51st State' in Liverpool. From an executive box, the star was seen waving his arms and singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' during the game. Jackson has also publicly expressed his distaste towards the people of Manchester.

I too am waiting for someone to say we'd want to lose on purpose tonight just to deny them the title. Same accusation was made last season when we played Chelsea and they never even had the courtesy to thank us when we beat them. Ungrateful ingrates. The same people who make these accusations must be the same who'd want their team to lose if the situation were reversed. Says a lot about someone as a fan really. I'd never want my team to lose. If we're going to win something, we'd do it on our own. It's naive to think that sacrificing one game means more to us than fighting for fourth.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted - hope everyone is alright and enjoying the football. Went to the Norwich and Swansea games - we were pretty wasteful in terms of chances.

Currently en-route to anfield now for the match this evening. Hopefully it'll be a great match!
Shall try to post some photos later on.

COME ON YOU REDS!

On a sad note, I'm shocked to hear about the death of Gary Speed. A good pro whom I've always kept an eye out for. Really flabbergasted to note that it was reported to be suicide. RIP Gary, YNWA.

just heard Bellamy asked to be withdrawn from the squad facing Man City later. Guess he needs bit more time to settle on that news. Sad day for football this.

Aye, he's really affected by the news. http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport-news/wale...55578-29851340/?

Minutes silence for Gary prior to kickoff I suspect. YNWA.

Added on November 27, 2011, 11:49 pm3 defenders on the bench alongside Spearing, Carrol and Doni. Hmmm not many options if we go behind.

Proud of the lads this morning. They pushed City all the way. So that's now 4 home games in a row the away keeper is the MOM? Ruddy, Vorm, De Gea and now Hart. The results may not be as desired but we are certainly playing well. Keep it up King Kenny!

With Tottenham and Chelsea winning, we really needed all 3 points. Didn't gain ground on anyone this weekend. It was end to end stuff and although Lucas is getting the plaudits, I must say that Reina was instrumental in getting a point as he came out three times to deny City goal scoring opportunities. Anger and Skrtel had good games as well. It's nice to see us playing a higher line, pressing City in their own half the way we did Chelsea. More of the same please.

Henderson really doh.gif.

Didn't contribute much except giving away the ball and passing backwards.
Put Maxi at least he knows how to run off the ball.

sad day.

Actually I think Henderson did pretty well when he was in more central positions and Kuyt drifted out wide. I'm one of his biggest critics but I thought he showed some neat touches on the ball and linked up pretty well with Adam and Kuyt. One of his better games for us IMO.

It's easy to say that Carroll should start games because he comes on at the end when we're pressing. The reason he has looked ineffectual when he starts is because he's struggling with open play, when he has to work to get into the box. Against City, we were already pressing deep when he came on and he had the luxury of playing close to goal. It's when we are playing further in our own half that he's struggled with mobility sparking comments that he doesn't look match fit.

QUOTE(Rotuham @ Nov 28 2011, 02:26 AM)
Neither is henderson.I honestly say i am more confident when we play away than at home.Home support is terrible.I could hear city fans singing blue moon and outsang the local fans. Our away support is way better.
*
Hmm I swore I heard "Fields of Anfield Road" sung numerous times followed by chants of "We Love You Liverpool". City's away support was vocal but that doesn't mean we weren't. Here are accounts from fans who were at the game http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=283406.0. I heard the same thing they saw which is why I'm a little confused by your observation. I know you're a little pessimistic mate but I really don't see where this is coming from. You'll note from their accounts that the support became louder after we conceded which is the way it should be.

Interesting how we all watched the same game but have different opinions isn't it? Makes for better discussion. My only criticism of Dirk Kuyt this morning was his inability to distribute the ball accurately. His passing was poor but as expected, his work ethic was phenomenal. City are a potent force going forward and it was reassuring to note that we had our marathon man available to help track back and help neutralize the threat of Samir Nasri and David Silva as they later swapped wings. He wasn't afraid to take on defenders and got forward to provide support whenever we sieged the opposition goal.

Dagger was simply immense at the back. He is deceptively quick and with him in the side, we had the luxury to be able to play a high defensive line against quick nippy players like Aguero, Silva and Nasri. Skrtel also looks a different player when playing alongside him. Hard as it is for me to accept, Carra is surely now moved down a rung in the pecking order as age has robbed him of speed which he never had in abundance anyway. At least he's graciously admitted that his days as an automatic starter are behind him and he has to work hard to keep his place in the side. Not one to complain and whine our Carra.

Lucas and Adam were ace. Makes you wonder where Captain Fantastic will slot in when he's back from injury. Yes, we've dropped points but if no one can see how well we've been playing compared to last season I give up trying to point out the positives to you. We are a relatively new side and it's encouraging that we are getting better as the season progresses. Adam was out of sorts early this season but has been amazing the last two games. Despite a shaky start to the season, our defense is now solid. Lucas is now looking like a world class defensive midfielder. Suarez was a little out of sorts last night spending more time moaning and playing but it was nice to see everyone else pick up the slack but having opportunities of their own. In the end, my job isn't to please anyone so I won't try. I just think that credit must be give when it's due even if there is still room for improvement. What was it Shanks said again? "If you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win"? The fans aren't buzzing again and singing at the top of their lungs each game for nothing.

Added on November 28, 2011, 7:54 amOn the topic of bringing Carroll on earlier, do consider that while we were pressing, City had opportunities on the break, most notably when Silva took an age to round Reina. As much as we were looking to score, we had to keep one eye on the City attack. I don't know about you but it was always at the back of my mind that we could concede. I believe it's why we didn't commit too early because I can't see either Suarez or Carroll tracking back to defend if Glennie lost possession while on one of his forays in the opposition half. Only after Balotelli got sent off did King Kenny feel it was safe to make the change. Hindsight is 20-20 and there will always be "what ifs" but I felt that it was right for him to be cautious in this case.
