Hi, planning to get a 35mm 1.8g when i'm visiting US. Is the warranty for lenses international?
*
according to nikon msia website.... yes... for film products n lenses...

http://www.nikon.com.my/en_MY/warranty.page?

but if u plan to come back to msia... why worry? they r not gonna ask where the lens broke rite rolleyes.gif whistling.gif

Thailand flood shouldn't affect memory cards, that's what I have been told by my supplier. The memory card price in M'sia will be affected by the USD rates.

If you buying the new stock of SanDisk Extreme memory card 16GB and above, you'll get a free camera wrap thumbup.gif
*
icic... i think he wanna pressure me to do a quick sales tongue.gif

but the USD went up in the last 2 weeks... maybe he talking about that...

i don think i will get the camera wrap since he say it is old stock.. new stock wif higher price coming in next month sweat.gif

btw.. it is black friday 2moro tongue.gif

I suppose I should just go for the D5100 XD
Based on the time line, it seems to refurbish in 2 years time, hopefully it's accurate.

I won't regret this right?
Will it be very heavy?

I was kinda worried about bringing it around since it's kinda heavy and bulky.

I'm either leaning to this model or the Lumix GF3 or Olympus PEN E-P3 which are m4/3.

It's just hard to decideĀ  rclxub.gif
*
i think chances of D5100 successor launching is close to nil next year... due to the flood in Thailand... might not even appear until late 2013.... (also check prices b4 u buy, some shop mite jack up prices due to supply shortage)

go to a shop and ask to try out the cameras b4 u make a decision... weight is a subjective criteria... btw.. a good camera bag helps alot too smile.gif

Another D5100 user.. Can't agree more with this. D7000 control is much better. if I wasn't limited by my budget, i'd go for d7000 any time.
*
depends on users lor.. more experienced users will ask for better control like quick access to more settings, more customization, more info at a glance, etc...

i wouldn't give beginners a D300 or D700... all the switches with cryptic alphabets gonna confused them....

for me... the lower quality main LCD n the lack of the mono LCD control panel is a deal breaker in the D3100 n D5100...

Need some advise on this. Planning to upgrade my kit lens to either 24-70 or 17-55. I'm using D7000 and most of the time I'm taking photo of my son. Which is a better option?
*
IMO, unless u plan to upgrade to FX later or u really need a f2.8 zoom with long focal length, go for the 17-55..

the 24-70 in DX will have a focal length of 36-105mm, which is almost same as ur kit lens...

plus u oledi have a 35mm f1.8... still not enough for your son's portrait pics?? hmm.gif

hey guys.... after much researching online n literally measuring my camera wif a tape... i think i will settle for the lowepro fastpack 200... it is a backpack (good for trips) wif fast access.... thanks for the advise earlier you all smile.gif

now am researching for a FX telephoto zoom... i know the 1st to come to mind is the 70-200mm f2.8 VR2... but got some ppl told me the 80-200 f2.8 actually produce sharper pictures...

IMO, the pros of each are:
70-200 = VR2, nanocoat, fast focus
80-200 = cheaper, lighter, shorter, long lasting (no VR2 mechanics)

i am inclined to get the 70-200 becoz of VR2 since i don wanna carry a tripod when traveling... but the lighter 80-200 is making me have 2nd tots :S

why not settle for fastpack 350? i was like u when i decided for fastpack 200/250 but then i thought, what if i upgrade my equipment or laptop in the future? then must buy new bag again? sad.gif
so i bought fastpack 350 in the end smile.gif
*
i used to own a lowepro pro runner 350aw... and man was it a big bag... i feel like ninja turtle when carrying it around and i have to be very careful when turning around less i knock down some building... sweat.gif laugh.gif

this bag will be used primarily when i travel overseas and i need something light to carry my gear (D700 + battery grip + 24-70 + 70-200)

continuous focus with 3D matrix (only time I switch on the 3D matrix for testing purposes, have not since, too slow to be usable in most cases for me) on with my 80-200 one touch kura kura.  I would say if the condition is right, (where the car has many stickers for the AF to focus on) hunt time is less for the lens. I think was shot at f5.6 or f8 at 1/4000. Not the best photo in the world, but just saying that 80200 if got meet good condition and budget is enough why not. Lucky for me I got mine under rm1.5k super mint condition and the best part can pay 4 months installment.

If we got chance to buy all latest and bestest I'm sure we all will la. I would like to have the latest 70-200 f/2.8 VRII. But so far the kura kura has not failed me in a way that makes me wanna spend so much of my hard earned $ to invest. What more to say I'm just shooting for fun. Maybe if an affordable 80-200 2touch comes my way I might consider tho.  smile.gif
*
thanks for the advise... i managed to test a 80-200 AF-D and picture quality wise i cant tell the difference with the VR2 rclxub.gif

the x2 price is for the VR2 n Nano coating i guess hmm.gif
