play for fun only, then you need sparring partner... when do you plan to go? I can only go there on Friday evening...

What time are you going this Friday? Can I be your sparring partner? If we can be regular, I like to join their regular session.

Me no title also, just a little more practice and I can be very consistent with my shots.

Hi, I browse the thread a bit but can't find:

Any coaching/course around PJ/Damansara? For casual, need to polish strokes, serve, all other techs.

If you are planning to play table tennis on a social /serious manner, get a decent bat first.
Brands like Butterfly, Nittaku, Yasaka (all from Japan) produce good bats. Downside is the price is higher than other brands.
Among the alternatives are brands from China - eg YinHe (or known as Galaxy in some countries), DHS (Double Happiness Shanghai), Palio, Dawei etc.
Brands from China generally are cheaper with the exception of DHS which is the "premium" of all other brands.
Other brands are Xiom (Korea), Andro, Tibhar, Donic (all three are from Germany), Stiga (Sweden) etc.

Hi, I also recently developed the interest to play TT seriously and in the market to look for a serious blade that is suited to my budget and playing style. After doing extensive research I discovered that there are two varieties of blade, it's either 5 or 7 plies. On top of that, there's the traditional all wood plies or the current wood and carbon combo.

I have decided to actually settle for a Stiga Carbo 7.6 which is a combo blade.

I hope we could perhaps continue this discussion further and I am happy to give my opinion on the matter.

Butterfly LAK, Butterfly senkoh 95 and Palio T-7.

I have used the followings before (during my EJ days) - Stiga Energy Wood, Yinhe 986, Dawei Crystal Carbon and Nittaku Rorin.

Thank you bro, that is a very impressive list of blades you've tried. What is EJ? Can I have your thoughts on the Stiga Carbo 7.6..

I'm a newbie to TT, already in my 30's and considering taking TT as a hobby and will try my best to join local tourney. Planning to join practice at UM every weekend to improve my game.
