LYN definitely do not have much active people that plays ping pong. Those who generally play often do not come here. As far as I know, those who play competitively that do show up here is probably you, Ng.

QUOTE(ufaiq @ Feb 6 2015, 11:08 AM) Hi, I also recently developed the interest to play TT seriously and in the market to look for a serious blade that is suited to my budget and playing style. After doing extensive research I discovered that there are two varieties of blade, it's either 5 or 7 plies. On top of that, there's the traditional all wood plies or the current wood and carbon combo. There are blades that has plies other than 5 or 7. Just to let you know.I have decided to actually settle for a Stiga Carbo 7.6 which is a combo blade. I hope we could perhaps continue this discussion further and I am happy to give my opinion on the matter. Stiga blades are somewhat decent in quality but you might want to sandpaper your handle when you get it as they tend to be a lot rougher. Unless you are a chopper, any offensive blade would do the trick generally. You'll actually have more range of strokes with an offensive blade than control-oriented blade. |

QUOTE(szewooi2001 @ Feb 11 2015, 01:47 PM) Offensive blade - The is a very fast blade and it is also very hard. Hard blades generally cannot generate huge amount of spin. But the power it generates is tremendous. Of course, this blade is not good in absorbing the power from your opponent. Not exactly accurate. Offensive blades are harder for beginners to produce good spin. Same goes with absorbing power. It's all about your own hand controlling the blade. This post has been edited by Steven_aka_G: Feb 12 2015, 10:04 AM |

They do delivery and they have a decent range of stocks.School has ping pong club and table inside boarding house, and I've decided it's pretty fun, I'd like to get a decent premade/custom bat. I'm more of an all round/defensive player. Can anyone recommend me Premade/Custom bats and where to buy them? I live around KLCC area so idk where shops are. Please tell me a few shops! Ty! |

QUOTE(ufaiq @ Feb 16 2015, 02:43 PM) QUOTE(szewooi2001 @ Feb 16 2015, 04:31 PM) I only have some basics drilled into me. At Union, I'm considered one of the lousier players. I won't be able to play properly for a while due to my bad knee. If you guys intend to go there, do go in a group. People there may seem unfriendly at first but don't be shy to ask for a match with the people there. Almost all are at state levels or higher. |

QUOTE(bennycyg @ Feb 17 2015, 08:16 AM) It's a carbon bat but you can expect it to be slightly softer than most carbon blades. Which also means that it's harder than your current wooden blade. It's a blade that can do everything that your hand controlling the blade can do. Expect it to be on the heavier side though. |

QUOTE(ufaiq @ Mar 14 2015, 04:53 PM) Dear Guys, Lucky Sports? Who was the one who served you? This is just a review of Lucky Sports Trading. To begin with, don't f-ing go there. The person who took care of the shop is a douche bag, unprofessional. I was in there to buy a blade for the missus and was put off by his 5 poop customer service. The place is f-ing disorganised and doesn't believe in the practice of 5S. Please avoid the shop at all cost, I'm sure you could find better service elsewhere. Enjoy the weekend. Cheers! |

QUOTE(ufaiq @ Mar 16 2015, 09:44 AM) Some chubby dude in his mid 40's. You probably met Poh Wong. He's a legit OKU though. Much better nowadays compared to last time. It's unfortunate that you met him.As reference for other forumers, I visited Star Elite Table Tennis Centre SETTC in Puchong (next to the Perodua showroom along Jalan Kenari 4) and to directly compare the two shops I visited this weekend, the experience was completely different. The personnel there was very helpful and friendly, immediately just standing outside of the glass door, the lady coach welcomed me in and ushered me into the pro shop. Whilst there, I gathered that they are now the official distributor for the Butterfly brand and funnily the previous shop (Lucky Sports Trading) got their distributorship revoked by Mulpha, the main imported of the brand. After the whole visit, I left the shop with a set of poly balls, cellulose balls and a DHS 104 net. Overall, I would recommend this shop if anyone is in the market for a Butterfly |

QUOTE(szewooi2001 @ Apr 9 2015, 03:25 PM) Hmm.... the table tennis ball bounce on the Donic tables in PJUnion is fast comparing to the tables in Taman Desa where I used to play. My stroke went "kelam kabut" after a game in Taman Desa and back to PJUnion the next day. Same 3 stars DHS balls were used. I think I should get a ITTF approved table instead where the table thickness is about 25mm. There's only one uncle in Union with penhold that can give Chee Feng a hard time. His name is Kim Huey or Zhing Hui in Chinese. Ex-State from Malacca.I think Leong Chee Feng was playing in PJUnion this week Monday and Wednesday. Great player but one of the uncle with penhold gave him a hard time. |

QUOTE(tsd @ Jun 16 2015, 11:50 AM) I believe nowadays ping pong is for old people. Most youngster play I-pad and other computer games. If you have the time, there are lots of place where you can play. I think the best person to ask is ping-pang, he is the walking dictionary here when comes to table tennis. I love to play table tennis, it is just the family commitment grounded me for many many years. I'm not old. |
