Working on a DIY project to build a return board. Anyone using return board here?
*
Me me me, I fixed one (ready made, own by a tt association) and built 2 return boards, one with rubber and another one without rubber. Return board with rubber, the returned ball is like normal, topspin (assume you loop the ball towards the return board). Return board without rubber, just plain board, the returned ball will be opposite, it becomes downspin. I prefer the one without rubber because I can loop more and make stronger topspin (not too much until it bounce off the table). With moderate loop, you can train your control and placing as well as footwork.

I'll try to search for my images and upload here in a while.

Thank you.

I'm not allowed to post too many images in a reply. So I have to add some on another post.

Thanks for the sharing, that's awesome! I'll try out a bare return board without rubber attached to it.

In the images, the one with stand and wheel is actually easier to get a suitable angle and distance, but portability is not that good. The one clipped on the sides of the tt table is more on portability and can fold for easier storage. For bare board, remember to use thicker board instead of thinner clipper wood because there is no rubber to bounce back the ball. My board is from a DIY rack I bought from Jusco long time ago. Reuse to give it a second life. rclxm9.gif
I'm not sure whether is it still available or not now. If you need any suggestion on the plan and built, we can share our discussion and information here.

I've figured out a simple solution on the return board, just need 2 pieces of wood and a TV wall mount bracket will do the trick, enjoy!

Really need to train up, no other exercise can give me the satisfaction that I can get in tt. How about you? Usually where do you play at?

Look for The founding member Uncle James. He is a big guy...bald and friendly. You need to pay RM6 into the TABUNG that is located near the wall. Ask the members there. Write your name in the log book and put RM6 into the tabung before playing.

if Uncle James is not there yet, just ask any player there. Most of them are friendly....although there are few lcly people too la. Dont bother with these lcly people. You will know who they are the moment you talk to them. Luckily only a few of them are lcly. The majority are nice folks. rclxm9.gif

Other than that, enjoy! I wont be there today though.

one of them is a vet. Very lcly. FEw people there like him.

I went there yesterday. Played for a while then stopped because I was afraid of hurting my muscle seriously. Coincidently the first player I played with was the vet. Not much of talking with him. Seems OK but need more time to know them better.

The first 10min my hand is shaking because stop playing for such a long time. He didn't show complaint face but keep on practicing, at least he was willing to practice until I can stroke the ball in normal way. Lol...

Few others are friendly. I sat there and watched other players to play. Really had fun there. Hope to see you guys there next Friday.

Thank you.
