QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 14 2012, 07:43 PM) Hi there, welcome to the world of android LOL! Here's the steps u need to do (found it via Google) : http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to...android-backup/ Thanks. For SGS+ to reboot into the recovery mode, switch off your phone, press volume up + power button until the samsung logo appears (booting up) for like 1 sec and release them. When you actually see the "android out of box" logo, press the menu button (the one at the left of the home button) and wait for the list to come up. You can choose the option by pressing the volume button (+ = up and - = down). To confirm your selection, press the home button. Good luck! |

QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 14 2012, 08:48 PM) You can keep it in your computer or keep it on your phone, up to you though Okay. One more thing. Will the phone and graphic performance tweaks be 'deleted' once I flash a custom rom? "You should always keep one good Nandroid backup on your phone just in case" - quoted from http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/10/how-to-c...ed-htc-evo.html For custom roms, you can try out the Cranium Rom, BroodROM or ThunderBolt! (made by our very own lowyat forum member, pikachu01). I'm about to try out the new Cranium RC8, will post up the steps and scores here when I'm done |

QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 15 2012, 09:14 PM) Which stock rom to flash back to if I want to send for warranty? Any Asian one from this page? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346245 Only 2.3.6 seems to have Asian ones and so many. :S And what's the point of flashing stock rom (ZSKP6) before flashing Cranium like you said?? Btw, how come my kernel is '2.6.35.7 - FeaCore_Phoenix mischu@breath1' or something like that lol. Shouldn't it be Cranium? Sorry for all the questions.. Edit: I got 4591 with Antutu benchmark.. o_o This post has been edited by ian_9: Jan 16 2012, 07:52 PM |

QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 16 2012, 08:02 PM) Which version of FeaMod you flashed with? Did you flashed FeaMod after you flashed RC8 though? Well, the latest update available via Kies is DXKJ2 so I think it'll be better to flash to that one better sending back for warranty though Okay. I flashed feamod 1.2 before flashing cranium but updated to feamod 1.4 after that. Also, I had some weird bug in RC8 like no status bar so I flashed to cranium rc7 (i dunno why lol) Download ZSKP7 now and going to flash to that and to RC8. Having battery issues in RC7. |

How do I change kernel? Maybe that's why I'm getting bad battery life lol. If I change kernel will I still have FeaMod recovery?
Edit : I don't think I'm using OC since I downloaded the one called 'zip files without OC/UV kernel to flash via FeaMod Recovery' o_o This post has been edited by ian_9: Jan 16 2012, 08:35 PM |

QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 16 2012, 08:38 PM) You'll still get to keep your FeaMod since it's not a kernel to begin with. Cranium Kernel v6 1900 MHz 850"Instructions- *Place the .zip in your Sd card. *Go into recovery mode(U must have FeaMod Recovery to use this!) *Flash the zip. Pretty easy, huhh?" source : Cranium Kernel V6 You can get the Cranium kernel v6 from the link above as well *Update* well, that much be feacore (kernel) without OC/UV then. hmm...well, my battery life so far so good though. Cranium Kernel v6 1930 MHz 428 Cranium Kernel v6 1996 MHz 258 Cranium Kernel v6 2016 MHz Which should I download? |

QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 17 2012, 04:22 PM) Usually is like this or after you install the RC8 and you get this problem? Mine is all good like before though. Certain rooms have bad wifi signal and service signal (digi/maxis/celcom and etc) due to the infrastructure of your house and as expected that phone wifi signal is not as strong as what we have on laptops or pc. If your signal is still weak after you step out of your house, that's a problem then Usually it gets hot since I bought it. Yeah my place got bad signal. My old phone also. |

QUOTE(mccy118 @ Jan 17 2012, 06:35 PM) it will if you're running too many app and if u're on long phone calls. if standby still hot then i think there's a problem. how about after flashing to rc8? still hot? It doesn't get hot while in standby. RC8 still the same as stock rom. Gets hot after playing games a bit and like browsing for a while. Not super hot la but can feel. |
