Not really a watch person here but surprised to see Panerai is so high up in popularity for the Malaysian market.
I'm curious how come?
What's the allure of Panerai for you guys?

Thats the thing... last thought about a pam like 5 years ago and the topic resurfaced after a friend shown off her 00048... was surprised that the price increase so much now.
So like RO saved AP, Rambo save Pam.. and thats the story? This post has been edited by sniper on the roof: Sep 6 2012, 12:03 PM |

QUOTE(Angelpoli @ Sep 8 2012, 01:43 AM) any idea? is authenticwatches website a good website to buy online? how long will it take to send from us to malaysia and will i be taxes if i buy it online? thanks! How much savings would you get from buying online vs local AD? How much is the model you're buying? Then judge if its worth the risk of package getting lost or stolen along the way. |

A bit of a dilemma here. I've got this mid-90's Tag 1500 series which is worth nothing now but except sentimental value (it was my high school graduation present and the watch I worn during my pak-toh years with my wife).
Haven't touched it for years but just went for a battery change and service... and gatal asked them if can fix the bezel which rotates smoothly now (no more click). The sifu says have to change the bezel. Haven't got a quote yet but should I fix it? |

Visually there's no issue just that it don't click anymore and turns both ways (supposed to be uni-direction).
He did say that he's not sure if can still get parts and he's just supposed to service it only. Didn't confirm with him to change anything except battery. So I should get a 2nd opinion on the bezel? If HAVE to change to make it click again... should I? |

QUOTE(Catnip @ Sep 8 2012, 11:04 PM) Why don't you send the watch to LVMH Tag Heuer Service Center at Central Plaza? They can examine the watch make an evaluation, check the parts availability and give you a quote. I'm not located in Malaysia but if you don't mind me asking.. how much was the damage?Had the end link and crown changed on my 20 year old Tag earlier this year. Check my previous post in this thread. Edit: Nevermind... checked your breakdown already. This post has been edited by sniper on the roof: Sep 8 2012, 11:19 PM |

Depending on age... if younger, maybe wearing a leather strap would be nice.
On another note.. being a watch noob... I think I know why a Patek and a Seiko is priced so differently. First.. Seiko making the Ananta The reason for the difference » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by sniper on the roof: Sep 10 2012, 07:53 PM |

The exp1 doesn't have that "look at me" wrist presence which is sorta like its appeal as well I think.

QUOTE(matrixation @ Sep 17 2012, 10:31 AM) hey guys, after doing some research, I've almost certainly decided on this watch: I think it boils down to what's your expectations for it and what you're going to wear it for? Tissot PRC 200 Quartz Chronograph (T17.1.586.52) To view the watch: http://www.tissot.ch/?mod_collections65/pr...ts_702/scroll_1 Appreciate if all you experts here can share some feedback on this particular watch My 2 cents: On the positive side, it certainly looks nice, functional and accurate and fairly affordable. On the other hand, its pretty expensive considering its a quartz, not really for impressing people (if that's your thing) and not something you'll pass down to the next generation This post has been edited by sniper on the roof: Sep 17 2012, 11:49 AM |

QUOTE(arthur5011 @ Sep 17 2012, 03:43 PM) Hi all, my fren is in Rome now and will travel to London and Paris later this week, she is asking where is the better place to get a Rolex, France, Italy or uk? Hard to say. Depend on model/discount you can get. Also the VAT refund is different for each country... credit back or cash.Edit: Out of curiousity.. I checked with my well-travelled shopaholic friend and according to her, its still cheaper to buy in Taiwan (where I reside) if can get 15% discount. QUOTE(Angelpoli @ Sep 18 2012, 12:48 PM) hmm, can explain what LE stand for and the bold part? sorry. not really good at those retail thing. >,< thanks! LE = Limited Edition.patryn33's saying that Panerai is supporting resale value by having limited editions/ controlling output but in the long run may not help. Kinda like what Hermes is doing with their Birkin. |
