hi guys, i have a 13 year old tag heuer and its dials on the faceplate does not glow in the dark anymore. i've called tag and they told me that they will change the entire faceplate for a few hundred ringgit. are there any shops in klang valley that can just repaint on new luminance onto the faceplate without replacing it? thanks in advance!
not sure u can get it relume, but in many cases relume by someone not experience always results in uneven finish. that is why Tag ask u to get a new dial.
please poison me! haha. i love how tags looks nice even after so many years and theyre affordable too . too bad there is no crystal window behind the 2012 aquaracer to allow us to see its calibre 5 mechanics in the works~
But seriously, although unsubstantiated and all.. the interweb says that recent Aquaracers got some quality issue.
Budget how much?
budget about 8k more or less. i actually love simplicity, dont really like those complicated chronos. any suggestions? what kind of quality issues does the current aquaracers face?
mother of god.. the planet ocean's beautiful

Oops my bad, not many good lume work done even in the states. if u insist getting it done, and want it right. just replace dial.Else just live with it. doing it with some brick and motar shop most likely will not get u the results u want anyway.

8k budget and a Tag? U are definitely a Tag fan. and I 2012 aquaracer would fit in your budget coming at ~6k+ according to your taste, U are into sporty watches on steel bracelet.
the new movement is definitely better. but for most ppl also there is nothing wrong with the old one. between both oldand new PO, few things divide most ppl...one is the ceramic bezel which doesnt look pure black...the other is of cos the thickness. i like the ceramic bezel tho...but dont like the thickness
i believe for people who are not watch collectors and hobbyist cant really see the difference in the movement type haha. the ceramic bezel is definitely nice though.
At that price point of an Omega, one really SHOULD care about the movements that are beating in their timepieces...expensive things those are
The tendency is always to believe that a new movement is better because it after all is the latest and assumed most hi-tech and improved...but what new movements do not have, is a proven track record.
We have some legendary movements from the 60s/70s/80s that have stood the test of time and some of them are still being used in todays hi-end watches... the JLC 920 & 478, Lemania 321(is it still used today?? hmmm), Zenith 3019 El-primero instantly come to mind... for testimonials of durability, accuracy and reliability... you'd also have to include various ETA movements (2890 - 2892) & Valjoux 7750 as special mention as well...(i wont be mentioning any movements from the "holy trinity" as i will be bound to go on all sorts of other tangents )
but then again i don't suppose most of the big fish who own S600 Mercedes ever opened their car bonnets in their lives...but then many of them sort cannot be considered enthusiasts as well...

i heard omega has so much faith in their movement that they gave buyers a 4 year warranty on a new watch.
say for the 2500 and the 8500 movement, would there be much difference?
Hey man, mind letting me know which watatime outlet you went to? interested in the PO and would like to go and try it out cheers
i went to watatime sg wang branch. the salesman told me 16k was not the lowest he can go, he will only go lower if youre super interested and going to buy on the spot haha. i think 15k is possible.
