Just received Steinhart Ocean 1 black from online purchase. Placed order last Sat afternoon and received it Sat just minutes after 12 noon.
However I found small dent on the lug upon unwrapping the protective wrappings. Have written to Steinhart about it and see what will they respond.
Added on December 11, 2011, 5:41 pmJust received a reply from Steinhart for a one to one replacement. Their services is trully legendary.

QUOTE(deriku @ Dec 22 2011, 02:11 PM) I bought a CW ladies chrono during their sales period and the quality is very good. Only thing is they are less well known in the market, and their prices have gone up quite a bit recently. I am thinking of ordering a C8 pilot from them. Didn't realized they are cheaper earlier. Which courier service company did they used when they shipped your watch? Steinhard was using FedEx, damn good, with online tracking and arrived within two working days, they even do delivery on Sat morning. This post has been edited by jeremy_yee: Dec 22 2011, 05:36 PM

QUOTE(Guenhwyvar @ Dec 29 2011, 07:59 PM) Guys, is it true that we shouldn't adjusted our automatic watches at between the time of 9pm - 4am? Kinda worried that I may damage my watch cause I adjusted my watch last night. If i am not mistaken, you can adjust the time but not the date or day around 9pm to 3am.

QUOTE(spicediablo @ Jan 4 2012, 06:30 PM) ^Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda very careful owner. But just wondering if polishing it helps.... Dent cannot be polished off. Light scratches maybe. You should check with the shop people where you bought your watch, they should be able to help.

Seiko chrono with tachymeter less than 1k, quartz.
After owning 2 automatics, don't think I can stand looking at hands that tick.
Anyone feels the same?

QUOTE(sshark @ Jan 12 2012, 09:56 PM) Yes I feel the same. The next levels are hi-beat and spring drive. 21600 bph felt jerky but acceptable. However, 2 years ago I bought a digital watch to wear. Nostalgic reason it reminded me during the 80s, seiko digital watches were like rolex to me Yes G-shock was THE watch that seems unreachable for me during school times. Now that I can afford it, just can't imagine wearing it. Maybe buy one for the sake of 'old dreams'.

QUOTE(wah chai @ Jan 17 2012, 12:49 PM) The best is to send to professional watch service. I tried metal polish with microfiber cloth but end up not as nice as original, you will still see tiny scratches.

QUOTE(gapnap @ Jan 21 2012, 03:21 AM) Time2Time Ikano Power Center . Few shops beside Crocs . I can find watch shop selling tissot almost everywhere. For good discount, I would personally recommend shop at 1st floor, Jaya 33.

QUOTE(gapnap @ Jan 21 2012, 11:31 AM) Speaking of discount . I know many shops who will throw price if you challenge them , but do not give an official receipt after you purchase (if a shop is caught throwing price , they could lose their dealership) What do you guys think ? Would you rather get it cheap , but it is sort of "undertable" . Or , pay with the standard discount with a proper transaction? Where can I find those shops. Most of those in shopping mall is stingy on discount.

QUOTE(500Kmission @ Jan 28 2012, 01:59 PM) How come all good looking seiko and tissot watches with automatic? I just want to buy a good looking watch with day and monday-sunday. I dont want to buy watch with automatic due to heavy and not accurate time. Most Seiko are quartz, Seiko-5 which is automatic is actually cheaper than other 'nicer looking' Seikos. Quartz watches are running on battery and are considered 'soulless' and have mediocre 2nd hand value. Automatic watches runs on spring movements, last forever with periodical servicings. They are not necessary heavier than quartz watches. Just my 2 cent.

QUOTE(OhNooy @ Feb 1 2012, 01:47 PM) May I know what is the best way to clean the dirt and fingerprints on the sapphire crystal surface of the watch without leaving behind hairstring scatch? It's not possible to scratch sapphire crystal with tissue or cloth. Only harder material like diamond wil scratch sapphire crystal.
