I thought I'd share this too. Was invited to an event by the Clockmakers' Company and Vacheron Constantin few months back. Was interesting to see the finer details and how they were made . They had a clock maker on hand to show how it was put together. Some of the details and ornaments were engraved by hand and some parts were ruby. I guess that's where the cost entails. Nevertheless an interesting experience.
