Got it last year. Inflation is unavoidable, just that the price point does not seem as attractive as before.

Anyway, TGIF, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Speedy Pro! biggrin.gif

Sifus, would like to know if we wear a mechanical watch normally, will it get over-wound? My retrograde orient star winds up to max real fast and stays there. Sorry for the noob question...smile.gif
*
normally no. there's some sort of a pivot or a mechanism to disconnect the rotor's movement to wind the barrel more than its full cap.

*read it off some seiko article. not sure it applies to all mechs. tongue.gif

Went to Red Army Watches in Pavillion today. Got a pvd Zulu. They don't have any more bond nato,or any 2 toned nato/Zulu.aih..only a few single colored line zulus.

Seiko chrono with tachymeter less than 1k, quartz.

After owning 2 automatics, don't think I can stand looking at hands that tick.

Anyone feels the same?

i totally feel you dude.

@deriku,

just a random question. since i noticed you have a seiko monster, and a laco miyota.

just to compare both its movements, the 7S36 and the miyota 821A, in terms of the rotor "smooth-ness", the sweep of the second hand, and accuracy, how far apart do you rate them?

thanks mate.

My experience and observation.
Miyota rotor is more noisy and some reported stutter on hands.
Accuracy wise both ok.
*
thanks for the input. i recently saw a youtube vid of a laco miyota, and the rotor seems to spin effortlessly. unlike the 7S26/36 which needs a little more than mere gravity to make it move wink.gif hence the question if the miyota is better than the seiko.

rotor smoothness doesnt really matter, but it does give you a nice feel of the watch tho. tongue.gif

thanks again ck77. i noticed that you sold your miyota B dail. any particular reason? sorry for being a little nosy eh. cool2.gif
