Ok. Quick question here. I got a macbook pro 2011 currently running on bootcamp OSX Lion and Windows 7. My notebook is currently hooked up to an external USB Creative X-FI 5.1 soundcard with Logitech Z506 5.1 PC speakers. I have to be booted up in Windows 7 in order to play 5.1 sound successfully.

My Astro Beyond is currently hooked up to my a LCD TV with shitty speaker system. I want to connect Astro Beyond digital audio (HDMI) to my MacBook Pro so that I can get 5.1 surround sound from my notebook rather than stereo sound from my LCD TV. I do not want to spend another fortune to buy another home theatre system just for Astro Beyond.

Is this possible? I know that macbook pro has a digital line in via the minijack. Is it possible for me to buy a HDMI splitter where one HDMI cable goes directly to the TV for Astro Beyond video and the other HDMI cable should be connected to my Macbook Pro. However, the Macbook Pro only has a digital line-in via minijack. How am I going to get the HDMI end to connect to the line-in minijack to produce 5.1 surround sound from my Macbook Pro?

Thanks for any help I can get.
