for better battery performance so far i'd try

Setting>phone>sim-pin>off

Battery : 77%
Usage : 1 hour, 28 minutes
standby: 10hours, 16 minutes

Usage:
1. FB with 3G and wifi
2. talkbox with wifi
3. sms and calls
4. Petshop, monters pet game
5. Update 3 application by wifi
6. Check some application at appstore

Looks fine for me

I'm on wifi all the time except while driving to work, lunch and driving home on 3G. Mine is iP3GS iOS5.01. I think quite ok.

How about before this when using 5.0?

before if i fully charge 100% at 11pm, by 6am drop 20%. by lunch time, it would drop to around 50%

11pm - 6am u leave it standby or got use?

iOS 5.0.1 is out..the notification just pop out on my iphone.
dunno wanna go for the update or not..

Well, we'll just wait and see whether it fix the battery problem or not.

But now, I've battery pronlem. I left my Iphone at 70% when I sleep and this morning it drops to 44%! Whoever said my battery is good, now I'm going hahahaha but yet calming myself by saying that I received 2 sms and 1 game notification, 3G on.

But one thing you guys should keep in mind, even surfing with wifi and 3G on, 3G will still work in background. So my advice is that switch off the 3G and turn in on when is deeded

My hubby just received a 2nd hand iphone 4 from his client. So i set the phone for his as new. I realised that there's something wrong with the Camera - shutter problem and find there's coloured lines (before taking a photo)...when take photo..the shutter doesn't re-open again. My hubby tried taking photo via whatsapp..it's find..just not fine with the direct camera app. I wonder if it's the ios.

I've tried hard reset...restoring as new phone the 2nd time..problem still persist. I wonder if it's the software prob. Later, I'll try to restore using the previous backup (from iPhone 3G, software version 4.X.X)..and see if the problem persist. If it does...then i think could be hardware problem.

Update us once you done restore.

I seriuosly facing battery problem now Phythia79 hahahaha. I charged again to 100% from 40% this morning. is 12.55pm , the battery drop till 93% no heavy usage at all!

Waiting for 5.0.2 come out!

At least u got 93%, mine is 86% at 1pm.

Wow sorry to hear that. But I just wondering why it drain the first 5% battery in between 1 hour once after I charge it to 100%

We all are discussing about Iphone 4 but if there's anyone could give us feedback on iPhone 4s, is highly appreciated!

Ok, can you let us know what kind of usage you did using wifi? I mean download apps or fb ect?

maybe the recipient iphone is not connected to wifi so it treat as SMS

guys iMessage normally if wan to chat is via email or like whatsapp phone number?

imessage can be use with phone data,not only wifi ..
i just off " send msg as sms " at msg setting and my imessage works

imessage can use apple id ( email ) and phone no

I changed the contact detail to iphone instead of mobile. Then add +6 in front of the number and press send message then imessage can work d

I can't receive incoming/outgoing calls and use the *122# code on the dial pad. My WiFi sometimes get disconnected and battery life is terrible. Any of you are having the same issue?

sorry for asking this question here, but i have searching around and could not find any more suitable topic to ask this question.

My iphone 3GS is updated previously by someone else to iOS 5.0.1
but now i realized that my iphone is actually an unlock set.
what is the limitation of an iphone unlock set?
is that means i cannot upgrade my firmware?

Before simpin>on my signal is stay one 1 bars even weak no signal.

Have to try simpin>off my signal stay full in the same area.

got my method from apple support communications.

so far i am running with iOS 5.0.1
the battery usage is just -6% from 100% --> 94% within 3 hours with downloading apps from appstore.

is this normal?

More than normal bro. Mine is like battery sucker. Always turn on 3G the battery drop damm fast. Heard 5.02 solve the battery issue.

Turn on the 3G when it is necessary and should be fine Come on man, they said the same for 5.0.1 but just hope for the best

it is better to turn on 3G all the time if u do not wish to experience dropped call...

just a gender reminder, u will not be able to receive any call or sms when u are surfing or in anyway using data under EDGE network... only 3G network allows that. Once i realized this fact, i have my 3G on all the time coz i do not wish to have any urgent calls dropped...

friend updated 4s to 5.0.1 and now experiencing the no-sim error.
Any fix?

Unfortunatey, I didnt experienced any call been dropped before without 3G on. I do receive sms and call when I surfing FB using EDGE. If you really have time to charge your Iphone everyday, then you can turn it on but not me.

because its on 3g by default ... no option to change it either. only when coverage is weak will switch to Edge.

try off 3G, Edge is running on 2G networks.

dude, there's no 3G switch on iPhone 4S

oh, i dunno that..

no, you cant. Apple removed the 3G switch in 4S

ops sorry my bad, i tot its the same as 3gs

Sorry to hear that but there's a rumors going on that apple will release 5.1 instead of 5.0.2 or 5.0.3

after you upgrade to 5.01 do a dfu reset, worked for me am not having problems

Not everyone face problems with the update 5.01...

i upgrade my iphone 4 to ios 5 but all my contact r loss!!!!sad case...and i dunno how the icloud works...i restore my back up but is not up to date...jz left wat i have three mth away...

Indeed, that was the question why not everyone!

Have you backup you contents before update? IOS 5 will swap everything clean bolt when you update it.

Anyone on iphone4 who updated to ios5 experience the following symptom?

Sometimes when you press the power button when screen is off, the screen would flicker and then turn off again. Ie screen on for fractions of a second then turn off, something like button pressed twice in quick succession. Need to press power button again to turn on.

but gladly it does not have any issue

Just go for GSM..CDMA is for Verizon iphone.

gehhh iOS5.01 is worse than iOS5... i should have stuck with iOS5 since that didn't give me any issues at all.. =(

For those still facing battery drainage issues, maybe you can check whether you have `killed` all the apps running in the background?

is there any way to mute all ringtone when phonecalls is currently active? ive been troubled by this issue a few times d. coz i changed the sms ringtone and then when im making a call, a sms come in, the ringtone is playing loudly disturbing my phone call. any1 have the same issue?

and my iphone always auto reboot randomly after jb. what happen? do u guys faced with this same problem after jb ios 5.0.1?

Try diagnose by removing sms tone you brought into the phone. See if it happens again.

Did you install any apps from Cydia? If yes, please name them out. Sometimes you have to check make sure all the apps from Cydia is supported with the IOS version you having. AFAIK, 5.0.1 is few weeks old rite? Not all the apps are supported thou.

barrel, sbsetting and fake carrier only.. i checked all this tweak and all support with ios 5. do restore fresh many time but still happen

the thing is, i think its a bug for ios to play the ringtone while a voice call is active. all ringtone does the same.
