bros,

intend to put a wireless surveillance camera at my front porch. i don't want to spend thousands of RM for the whole system. Just want 1 or 2 wireless camera and some simple system to record them. below are my requirement

1) can record night vision
2) wireless transmission
3) if possible runs on battery (but not sure if this is possible)
4) simple recording & storage system
5) weather proof??? (if kena rain also ok)

any recommendation?

Dude... None of the IP/network camera's I've seen are weather resistant. Only found 1 place that had a IP camera for outdoor which costs about RM1k. Shops located on 2nd floor of lowyat.

All the camera's I've seen uses 3pin plug so you can't really run away from that.

With regards to storage you can get a cloud service to record direct onto cloud without need for recorder.

tx bro. regarding the cloud service, does it matter which ip camera i use or each brand has their own exclusive version? how does this work?

Doesn't matter. There is one Malaysian company doing this as well. Can't remember at this time but I'll reply here once I get the info.

according to my alarm guy,
camera ranges from 100+ onwards.
those with NV eyes from 200+ onwards.
The recording unit cost around 900 with 1TB hdd.

anyway, not to be negative.. but.. cameras suck
a big amount of power, u would want to keep changing & swapping battery
everyday.

So far, we don't have those pinhole camera that run on "nothing" and no need
to charge, like those we see on FBI/CIA/ATU/24 tv shows. hmm.gif

I plan to install at infront of my condo main door, and the chance to hit by rain is 0.1%.
But i still bought the FI8904W(Outdoor waterproof) from Mr Tang, great seller and helpful.

Currently i install the IP camera at my landed house for testing(will move out 2 month later).
For those who wan to view my live IP camera, please PM me when u saw me online then i will give u my link for you to view the live video.
For the security reason, i cannot post the link public and i need to control the access permission as well.
