I have a problem here, which is my game always crash while playing half way. You can see my desktop specification in my signature. By common sense, there's no power issue, graphic cards are working fine on the other game without any problem.

When I play this game for the first week started from 27-Oct, that time had no problem at all. After the game or server patching for few times, this problem occur.

The crash is something like this:
- Game freeze
- Screen gone into black screen
- Screen coming back again with blank screen (black and blank screen are different thing)
- Can realize that the graphic card fan slow down to normal speed, less fan noise
- Whole system freeze, no matter what key I press on my keyboard, not responding

Then I'll have to push and hold on the power button for 5 seconds until the whole system turn off then restart again.

This is really irritating. I never overclock any part of hardware in my desktop. The only software that I use is MSI Afterburner which is to control my graphic card fan speed at 70% so that the temperature will stick at 55 celsius at most of the time. Even I tried not to use MSI Afterburner, also having the same issue.

Currently updated to Nvidia latest BETA driver, still no going well, keep crashing. unsure.gif

Any solution for this? Really annoying when you have a great squad and great team, playing half way and game freeze then have to reconnect again. sad.gif

mine got problem wit crossfire(hd5850), after disable crossfire everything seems ok but cannot go for ultra setting.

try disabling SLI.

Don't tell me that I will need to disable SLI forever, I bought second graphic is just to enjoy the game in good graphic rendering. doh.gif

Well, no harm to try it out. I just did some research and apply on my desktop. Disable UPnP, which is router setting. Disable Origin in game, also disable most of the notification made by Origin.

actually that is weakness of Sli
its very driver dependent
if and Nvidia/AMD are both the same in this department

Can't wait for Nvidia to launch new driver, news stated that they going to launch new driver in end of this month or December. Hopefully it fix the glitches and crashes.

wat more we can do... im still using single card with dual monitor bcoz battlefield problems...  cry.gif

malas to change the setting everytime....

waiting patch from AMD is like forever! vmad.gif

Sigh, this is killing.

If the game crash due to overheat then I won't mind. The problem is both my graphic card are performing in average 55 celsius and processor is average 42 celsius, and the game crash for no reason.

Now every one is wondering, could be game issue, or GPU issue, or driver issue.

lol but don't forget nvidia does bf3 stress test with gtx 580 sli setup
ur card is reference card or factory OC? enough power going to ur card?
i installed the new beta driver but i crash more often than the whql version, reverted back and crash less
sometimes no crash at all... crash could also be caused by browser
chrome is the worst browser to run bf3 n battlelog in my list, followed by FF and IE
*
My cards are definitely reference design, no overclocking. I myself also never overclock my system.

Enough power? Definitely yes, 1000w gold rated power supply is giving power to the cards and system.

having 1000w PSU doesn't mean ur card is getting enough power supply sweat.gif
sometimes the card's power input is set under voltage
*
Now I get what you mean. I checked a Youtube video yesterday, the uploaded asked me to unlock the voltage control by using MSI Afterburner but I'm worry it will harm the card if the voltage is not properly tuned.

The "crash" solution that you guys mention in this topic are related to my first post? Which is screen went into blank screen and whole system freeze?

Some update to share at here, it might solve your problem. This solution apply to those who don't have external sound card and only use on board sound card which is "Realtek" brand.

SLI + Realtek HD Audio Driver = Crash in between 5-20 minutes of game play, happen randomly.
Without SLI + Without Realtek HD Audio Driver = No crash for 2 hour plus game play.
SLI + Without Realtek HD Audio Driver = No Crash for 2 hour plus game play.
SLI + latest Realtek HD AUdio Driver = Crash in between 5-20 minutes of game play, happen randomly.

Tweak setting in Speaker configuration in Windows 7:
1) Right click Speaker icon in system tray.
2) Select Playback Devices
3) Right click Speaker icon (Default Device)
4) Advanced Tab
5) Uncheck all option in Exclusive Mode
6) Save setting

Update PunkBuster to the latest.

Until now, played a server with Operation Metro map rotation with 1000 tickets, and also another server, total game play consumed 2 hour plus, no crash at all.

The issue sounds like the driver or software setting related to Realtek HD Audio manager, there is nothing to do with SLI. SLI is working perfectly with Battlefield 3 without any major issue.

It is very risky to do that which utilize the memory setting. Try my step first if don't work then only find other solution. Mine is just only few clicks and some update, done!

what i notice is , Nvidia added their HD audio driver when using HDMI, my first problem was the k lite codec pack.. lolz
*
That is for sure if Nvidia added their HD audio driver because HDMI signal is output from the graphic card. If you don't use HDMI, then it won't relate to Nvidia HD audio driver.

Mine still crash even with PB updated and the Realtek audio tweak given above. Is it the graphic driver?
*
I'm using the beta driver, 285.79.

Have you try to uninstall Realtek driver and play without it?

guys, bf3 keep crashing. before this it happen once or twice only and sometimes with the green dots on my screen n hang.

but now even worse, max gameplay is 10 mins n hang. this time it auto alt tab to desktop and just hang there. i cant go in bf3. need to close the .exe and start again. when this happens, i realize the fan noise suddenly become super loud. haih, whats the problem. y this happen to me suddenly. now i cannot play arggg

Added on December 6, 2011, 2:45 amzzz now even worse, jus tried and my pc goes blank n restart. system has recovered from an unexpected bla bla bla
*
That is the worse case, I had this kind of case before. The graphic card fan suddenly rev up very high then rev down back to normal then screen went black. It shows the sign that hardware is faulty but when try on other game, it works fine.

Anyway, try to troubleshoot the part one by one. Try to remove sound driver and run with single graphic card first, then try different graphic driver. I know it will takes time, but who knows it will fix your issue?

I tested mine for one day and finally got it fix just with few clicks, working perfectly now. thumbup.gif

Nope. Wouldn't it affect my sound/mic without a sound driver?

The reason why I ask you guys to uninstall and disable few functions, that is to narrow down the root cause, start from a scratch.

From disable to enable, one by one, then you will find out what issue is causing the problem.
