QUOTE(shepard @ Mar 6 2012, 07:54 PM)
anyone here can help to advise what is the best CPU WB out there for i7 2600k? I'm going to order a set of custom WC for my rig(below) and I plan to WC both my cpu and gpu with 1x120Rad(GPU) + 1x360Rad(cpu).

Since I am a noob in WC, can someone explain whether it's a good idea to use 2pcs of above radiator on single loop?

TQ

Swiftech HD or EK Supreme HF CPU WB both provides great temp for the i7 2600k. For better option, use dual loop setup which didn't mix both CPU / GPU heat transfer. You'll see better temp through dual loop setup compared to single loop.

is it Apogee HD? looks good but if I dont want to watercool my RAM, i guess i dont need to use all 4 slots on cpu WB then. So, only one 360rad enuff for both GPU and CPU? I want to extremely OC both my chips that's why I'm thinking for the best setup that I can build..thanks for advice.
*
Don't need to use 4 input/output if you're goin' into dual loop setup. You can use any 2 of 'em. For the best result, use recommended input/output provided by Swiftech and you can find a lot of info everywhere by Dr Google. biggrin.gif

ok. 1st time cleaning my waterblock almost 1 years. just use suling + killkoils. drain water using white color base bowl can see color like light blueish. Open the block, few black spot and oxidation around the o-ring.

Ketchup or vinegar will do the cleaning right on the block using toothbrush?
*
Yes, tomato ketchup or vinegar or coke will do the fine job for the cleaning purpose on micro pin inside the wb. Since it's micro pin need to rub it gently. smile.gif

if the condition look too bad just grab a new silverkoil. It's cheap nowadays.. Anyway, u can try clean up using the toothpaste to the silverkoil. smile.gif

Hopefully Waterblock support will be the same, so you can upgrade easily ...

find out that mobo waterblock kinda hard to sell out as 2nd hand.
*
yea right, other people using different setup, that's why it's hard to sell used mobo's wb. sell it seperately will take longer time than sell it together with the mobo. biggrin.gif

soon the IVY bridge will goin' out and let's see if it's time for me to replace my 2009 1st gen i7 wc setup. laugh.gif . the hackintosh rig setup used for the work purpose biggrin.gif

something wrong with the gpu loops
do heat change the coolant color?
im running dual loops using ek koolant red blood
the cpu loop is ok but for the gpu loop the red blood coolant changed to purple color
WTH!!!!!!!!!!!
*
i don't think heat can change color by itself in a short time unless if you're using for a long period of time (1 year above). maybe some residue left from hardware itself. you need to check either the part inside the block response towards the change of color or not. hmm.gif

used it once before w/o flushing for a month ++
the one with pink coolant LOL
then drain the pinkie stuff and flush it using tap water + distilled water for few time
till the water clean without any residue left
cleaned all the blocks
*
i think you need to re-check it again. maybe some residue still left inside.. smile.gif

how check it?
flushed it for a long period
using tap water from a bucket to another bucket
than flushed using distilled water using the same method
last using new clean distilled water in a loop
*
firstly need to flush it. then using the water pipe to blow inside the block / radiator etc. 10-15 minutes more or less. then flush it again using distilled water. dry it as much as you can. re-apply back the wb and EK coolant. let's see what happen next smile.gif

hi bros, may i asks , can i use petronas battery water as coolant to my pc water cooling system , with not negative effect?

petronas 1liter/rm2.20, Mobil rm2.70  ( very cheap compare to coolant)
Air bateri PETRONAS dapat mengelakkan berlaku:
-Pengaratan dan endapan di plat bateri
-Tindakbalas kimia yang menghasilkan...
-Kereputan pada getah
*
yes, you can use it. no negative effect except if the water drop to the circuit then kaboom... either distilled or reverse osmosis are conductive to the electricity biggrin.gif
