Yes and no
Yes if it a very thin viscosity oil and no if it is not
Cooling would not be as good though as water

ALso for single rad you need to use something thicker like the rx120 or the TFC 120. Atleast 60mm

I see...thanks for the feedback bro, I am going to change my fan and see how the results go.
I see...But I will be having a 180mm radiator arriving soon (assuming the bulk is successful) =D Will report back once I got my fan changed.
Do you know who sells that radiator? The reason I went for a standard radiator is the fear of a thicker rad not being able to fit my case. But I will keep that in mind and possibly make a switch if results are not getting any better.
*
single rads are hard to find
most retailers dont stock them because they are not so popular

if you are looking for new i think people like Jibek may have stock
2nd hand i have a unit for sale as i could not use them without changing my fittings

hmm which one is mostly used? or rather is recommended?
1."black ice" radiators if available, this one seems to be the best according to some in youtube..
2."ek"
3."koolance"
4."phobya"
5."xspc" which i know is available mostly lol..
6."swiftech"
?? is it most probably need to know the number or amount of fins or how near or far it is positioned, thickness or thin which is crucial in fitting the rad in the case then only decide which rad is suitable? feels like i'm asking and answering myself lol..sorry for the blurness >.<
if it's been asked and answered before, sorry. i'll check back in the first few pages ._.
*
It depends on your fan speed. If you using gt fans then the black ice is better at 1800rpm
Xspc is a great rad but the worst in cosmetic. Expect to get bent fins and chipped paints on a new rad best bang for buck

Hi,
Is it worth it if I only install water cooling system for my GC only?
Cause mine casing is cm690 basic and I plan put 120mm radiator at the bottom fan just to cool the GC only.
*
when you have used watercooling and got used to the quiet sound using a normal gc is way way too noisy
almost unbearable

That is one of the point, for me try to find better temperature and noise.
But my casing can't fit 240mm. For gc is it not enough using 120mm rad?
I don't have experience with WC.
*
actually 120mm is not ideal for much, the rads are expansive too
for 680 you would need atleast a 240mm
but if you must use 120mm get the rx120 with 2 fans for push and pull. May need to use a higher rpm fan like GT or even the deltas

yup not what you should be doing

what pump are you planning to use? get a 35x and forget the top and keep your pump warranty and possibly some cash. biggrin.gif. unless warranty doesn't really matter to you. haha!

Yup get the mcp35x. It's great performance comes with pwm and with warranty

the mcp35x is better than the d5 in terms of pressure and it can be pwm controlled which makes it even better than d5

yup its performance is great especially in restricted loops, for me its just cpu at the moment but of course once got enough money will cool the gpu also  brows.gif about the warranty if I am not mistaken xspc / alphacool wont void the warranty if change the pump top. I heard something like this before, only swiftech comes with a sticker but I am not 100% sure though or was it bitspower?  laugh.gif

Reason why I prefer the D5 is its famous for reliability, dont usually hear problems from it & runs cool. If I get the mcp35x I must get the heatsink as I am afraid of the heat it produces, but then to think about it, I wont be running 100% full load so maybe the mcp35x might have longer lifespan. So hard to make decisions  rclxub.gif

But I do like the mcp35x though, it will fit perfect with my setup, coz I will be using the bitspower z multi res, so I could use a male to male adapter to connect to the pump & leave it hanging below my res with a fan blowing the heatsink  drool.gif
naise mang....just need to sleeve dat cable tongue.gif
*
If you run at 30 percent it is not that hot. Cool and nice

Or you can spend rm9 and buy 60mm fans that directly blow into the mcp35x. The fan fits the motor perfectly with all the screw threads align well. Just need to buy longer screws. Got my papst fan from pasar road

May i know how thick is EK cooltream XT compared to XSPC RX rad? I'm asking because yesterday just ordered EK rad from APES to replace RX rad which I failed to install at the top of my case due to the thickness. So hopefully RX will do its job outside of the case smile.gif

btw guys, is it possible to sleeve the cables ourselves or need to hire an expert for the job? I'm noob here sorry  laugh.gif

if you don't mine you can buy the ex or ax from xspc and run higher speed fans

sleeving is simple
just need to buy sewing pins with a ball at the end
use two pins and push into the connector, then you can remove the wires

don't even need to buy the mod set, i find this method better and cheaper
