Just got a 2nd hand 9780, but every time I try to setup my internet email account, nothing happens and it either goes back to the setup screen or the whole phone freezes. Everything else like BBM, Twitter and Appworld are working fine. Some help here guys? :S

PS: I've tried .480, .570 and am now currently on .723. Same problem persists on all versions.

Since the upgrading didn't solve the problem, I think I'll try the wipe and report back here if I have any luck.

Finally got it to work, hoyeah! None of the above methods worked for me guys, but thanks for the help. In the end, I loaded up Applications under the Blackberry Desktop Software and removed the email setup application. Worked like a charm!

Noted, touch wood this NEVER happens again, haha.

Just encountered another problem. Whenever I get or make a call, I can't hear anything unless I use the loudspeaker. But the other party can hear me just fine. It was working perfectly fine before this, I didn't even drop the phone or anything. Haish, I think its a hardware prob, any idea how long Brightstar would take to fix this? I can't go phoneless for even a day.

Actually managed to get it working by knocking it a few times, the tried and tested method! But will definitely send it there if this problem comes around again.

I'm using .723 with Umobile as well bro, but my BIS works fine on both 3G and EDGE. For .723, I'm really loving the performance. Minimal to no lag, great reception (I get EDGE in basement carparks where I used to get no signal at all with .570), and it solved the keypad stuttering issue I had. One gripe I have with .723 is the battery life on 3G. It really drops quite fast once you reach around 60-70%. I do keep a portable charger with me at all times, so it isn't as bad as it could be. I suggest keeping your phone on 2G and switching to 3G when you want to surf FB or the web. Everything else works great with 2G, and it saves battery life.

It is the official OS update, but it's not available for the Asia region just yet. You can download it from here to manually update your OS.

Are you subscribed to a BIS plan? Wifi won't work if you don't have an active BIS plan.
