What is MaGaCon?



MaGaCon is Malaysia’s first annual independent Analog & Digital Gaming Convention, run by Gamers for Gamers. It is for any Gamer, young or young at heart; all are welcome to participate and experience first-hand the fun & unique gaming culture and lifestyle of Malaysia. With the generosity of our venue sponsor, KDU University College, Damansara Jaya the weekend of the 17th and 18th of December will be packed with fun activities from the many partners and friends of MaGaCon.

With a modest price of a ticket admission, Gamers will have a plethora of activities catering to a wide genre and platform of both analog and digital games, to choose and participate in. MaGaCon’s flagship event, the Gamerlympics, where the search for the “Game Lord of Malaysia” and the ultimate prize of an all-expense paid trip to the Penny Arcade Expo. For the “Card Chuckers”, they have the prestigious Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix Trial Kuala Lumpur World Championship. The “Lead Pushers” and “Piece Keepers” have their own Warhammer 40K, Settlers of Catan and Monopoly tournaments to keep them busy. Not forgetting the Digital Gamers, the Button Mashers will have the Xbox 360 consoles and the Mouse Warriors their PCs to get their gaming on.



For the less competitive Gamer, we have the MaGaCon Event Achievements, where we have themed mini events and interactive exhibits for them. Exclusive prizes to be won for those who fulfil and complete the achievements of the “40k Fanboi”, the “Planewalker’s Journey Through Worlds” and “Technocrat” events. On the other end of the spectrum, the Causal Gamer has not been forgotten, with designated freeplay areas for analog & digital games, activity exhibits, videos and development panels. Kids will not be left out, with specific activities and games targeted for the growing mind.

well, Gamer lympics is a tournament, just not a competitive, e-sports tournament.
