Seem like I should only buy sharp air purifier better....
*
It is a good air cleaner. But the problem is, it is short life.

That's why I don't get back medklin after it spoil just 4yrs use. I change to Sharp air purifier which also have the same function as medklin call plasma cluster. (Some sort of)

4yrs is damn long .... I expect 2yrs+ spoil...lol

Not cheap lah.

It will be a lousy thing with such a short life span. Medklin better close shop.

i have 2 plasmaclusters, but the filter sets are damn expensive, like RM400++ each set sad.gif
*
The sharp filter can last for 10yrs. It state in the manual. Don't tell me you change it every yrs.

You don't run the air cleaner 24hr. Just 2hr or less if you in the room. Or interval.

RM3k+ for Blueair and RM4k+ for Coway.
So i serious dont think it is expensive.
Even Sharp purifier cost RM2-3k+ for bigger area.
*
That is expensive. For sharp, 1.6k can get it.

Air purifier is a simple mechanism. Not complicated than a fridge, tv or aircon. If that price is expensive than such thing, that all go into the profit. Not the air purifier.

It depends on technology and the brand.

I believe if a thing is superbly good but way too expensive than it's value, it won't be sellable.

Where as for products that is very cheap but no quality, it won't last long in the market also.

For those who would like a comparison chart of famous house purifier brands can let me know.
*
I did ply open a unit before. The price shouldn't be that expensive when I calculate the parts cost. Not the china quality.

Unless the manufacturing selling in small qty and charging an expensive on design.

Checking on this expensive brand, there is nothing new technology there.

Bro. Your RM1.6k sharp only can purify a room.
I am talking about the size above 1k sqft.
*
My 1 not for room lah. I use it for hall and room. It actually overkill for room.

And what AP can clean 1K sqft? That is very big AP.

Blueair 700sqft.
Coway up to 2650sqft.

I will still choose Blueair cause easier to change filter.
I gonna use it to purify air at living hall to dining hall (open kitchen concept).
So 700sqft roughly enough exclusing kitchen.
Furthermore, blueair have remote control and wheels that i can bring it around to where it need it easier.  rclxms.gif
*
The actual price for blueair is not expensive. The buying power here and the big profit that cause this unit very expensive.

Any AP is easy to change and clean the filter. I use sharp, korea brand and Philip before. All are easy to clean and change.

I won't get that too big size AP. Cause

1) It is ugly to place that big unit in the hall.
2) I don't think it can reach that far end to suck the dust toward the AP.
3) You really need to max the fan speed to get that far. And the crazy loud fan noise.

I rather separate to 2 small unit.

I seldom switch ON the AP. Only use it once a while or during haze time. Don't need to life in a clean room.

The sharp new model don't have the remote. My office old model have. Minimum of usage the remote. But better than nothing.

I have dog staying inside the house so my AP will on for 24/7.
Yes, you are right that the air and dust can only reach certain length. For Blueair is exactly 700sqft and Coway only up to 400+sqft.
That is why i am getting the Blueair.
Blueair is renowned worldwide and it is an Europe brand. I usually trust Europe products more.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Why you want to ON your AP for 24/7? You have breathing or some sort irritating problem?

Hi all,

I thought of getting the Sharp PlasmaCluster air purifier. After knowing that it produces a low level of ozone, I'm wondering if it's still good.

Quote from http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditi...ma/faq-20058187

"Inhaling ozone, even in small amounts, can irritate the lungs. Specific effects may include throat irritation, coughing, chest pain and shortness of breath, as well as an increased risk of respiratory infections."

Any feedback? Anyone had bad experience after using those air purifiers with ozone?
*
It produce in a safe level. Infact some medical place do use ozone to clean their place air in the main ventilation.

But if you kiasi type, than just avoid this brand. Or any brand that using ion.

Ok I understand your concern now, I would find out what is the main maintenace of hepa filter, cause my sharp KCD40EB will be received today.

But I would suggest for apply additional Daiso filter after the pre-filter like a net for washable filter.
*
I thought your mighty aircon can work as a air filter? Your aircon can't do the job?

Actually u guys can try out or have a look on amway ATMOSPHERE air treatment system. I felt this brand is quite me. My 5mo use to be have flu frequently. After I use this atmosphere my son getting better and no flu lor. They can eliminates 99.99% of all airborne contaminants.
*
You don't need to pay that crazy amway price for a good AP.

Any AP hepa filter that can filter up micron of dust particle will do the job. And there are must more cheaper than the amway.

Depending on your budget. Pre filter is to drag on other filters (Service period) hence save cost.

If you have budget to burn, just remove the pre filter. For me, I need the pre filter cause no money to burn  cry.gif

The Hepa filter have a 10yrs lifespan. How long do you need to extend somemore?

Just do monthly vacuum cleanup the filter will do.
