If I remember correctly the 40 is RM 1699 thereabouts.

I'm not an expert, this is just based on what I have read online...

the filter needs to be cleaned once in a while and depending on the usage. I understand that AP can give indication/ signal to owner when it's time to be cleaned.

The HEPA can be changed after some time of usage. Sharp sells the filter. I saw in Harvey Norman this morning, the salesperson gave 2 filters to this couple as they bought a unit. not sure FOC or they bought them.

For Sharp, I'm pretty sure it can be done DIY. just open the back compartment and change it.

Yes, you are right. For FPF30, just open it and change. In fact, before you can use it, you will need to open it and dispose of the plastic bag. There, they have taught you where is the HEPA filter. Hehe..
Other Sharp models probably the same.

normally how long need to change the filter? Like i said, it depends.your budget, the usability of the filter, laziness to clean etc. in addition, most filters have its own life expectacy. Some high end models have higher life expectacy for filters.

how much does it cost? depends on the brand and model. The one i saw this morning was RM1xx. Sharp. Dunno which model.

Hi, I've bought the sharp air purifier KCD60EW last two weeks.
I found that when I put it in a closed room without aircond, once I turn on, it has a bad smell.
If I put in an open area like living room, it doesn't have the bad smell when turn on.
I called to their service centre, they told me it shouldn't have the bad smell and bring it to their service center to check.
Any users here encounter the same like mine? :s
A bit worry now..
