Try to clean up the unit. By blow some air into it. Probably a lot of dust.

My unit also same as when age, the smell getting less.

Medklinn needs servicing and replacement of cartridge every year.
The new model can replace the cartridge yourself, so no need to send for servicing unless you find that you need their service.

Super fast delivery, placed order yesterday and got my unit now. I can hear the hissing sound, and smell the faint metallic smell. Now it occurred to me, my office has a de-odorizer machine at the entrance and it has the same but stronger metallic smell, which I don't quite like. But the office unit is much bigger than Asens, so I hope the smell won't be overpowering.

I quiet like the smell. It is a jungle forest smell in the morning. But I heard it is not so good to breath on it. It actually a Ozone O3. It below the reading. So no worried.

I'm not worried about the O3 level. I really hope this works, always wake up from sleep feeling lethargic, and also sinus problem.

It really refreshing. When I have not enough sleep and got to work, I bring along to office and put near to my table. Feel better.

yes.. medklinn need servicing every year. and from my experience it only last for few months then the hissing sound will be lesser and lesser. meaning it's not that effective anymore.

service will cost around rm100 for each.. upgrade to new one will be rm450.. dunno should i go for service or upgrade better.. sweat.gif

Google for how to diy clean medklinn. Not difficult.

My didn't work. Luckily under warranty. Found it was due to a bad batch of elec converter plug.

It is a good air cleaner. But the problem is, it is short life.

That's why I don't get back medklin after it spoil just 4yrs use. I change to Sharp air purifier which also have the same function as medklin call plasma cluster. (Some sort of)

Not cheap lah.

It will be a lousy thing with such a short life span. Medklin better close shop.

The sharp filter can last for 10yrs. It state in the manual. Don't tell me you change it every yrs.

You don't run the air cleaner 24hr. Just 2hr or less if you in the room. Or interval.

did some DIY cleaning on my medklinn. open up everything, then I even dismantle the main ionizer unit. actually it's just 2 piece of paper like module clipped between 3 metal sheet. the metal will conduct electricity through the module to generate ion.

example

user posted image

took out the module, gently wipe it, terbalik-kan and slot it back in. screw back everything and woala.. i'm can hear the hissing sound and smell the fresh air again.. smile.gif

still.. i'm gonna buy the sharp purifier soon.

i a not sure about other models, but mine definitely does cost after a month, i have to clean the outer mesh which sizable dust accumulated. the more finer dust will stuck inside. i use it as a fan and air filter, so its like running at least 12hrs a day in my bedroom.
