QUOTE(stringfellow @ Nov 26 2011, 02:49 PM) Accessories are personal preferences. IMO, I feel that any flip cases that encases the entire phone just adds bulk, and the Note is already a big phone. The free flip case/cover is as much I willing to go in terms of adding bulk, no more. Got the not so cheap cut throat price diamond sp...bought for RM40...it is clear when compared with the previous free matte sp that i got when i bought the note.I totally understand your predicament though. I spent the entire evening yesterday looking for a case for the Note, and I can't find any that doesn't add bulk, or aren't tacky or cheesy looking. I believe we've moved past the PocketPC days to not use those PielFramas type cases, personally I feel they're ugly. It hides the form factor of the slim Note. A pouch wouldn't hide the form factor, only protects it, when I take it out of the pouch when I need to use it, it is still slim and manageable in my hands. Adding bulk with thick cases only makes handling the Note in it unwieldy, unless you have giant Ronald McDonalds hands. The sp looks really cleear and smooth while swiping. However it does come with a glaring flaw in terms of really tiny dots which suppose to look like diamonds hence, the name diamond sp. These dots somewhat affect your viewing though. Thinking of removing this sp and leave the screen naked since got the free flip case. Reason I am replying to ur thread is that I wanna know whether you were using the flip case or not and what is ur opinion in leaving yhe screen naked without the screen protector. Will using the flip case somewhat protect the screen? Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Nov 26 2011, 09:04 PM) I switch between the back cover with flip and without depending on mood, now that I have the SGP SP, I can use the one without the flip cover at the front. Personally, I feel that the flip cover front is psychological. You felt safe that it covers the front but the way it sways about when taken out because it is not latched to anything doesn't protect the screen from any scratches, just a "perceived" peace of mind. I'm still gonna hang on to my flip cover case, but not relying on it to provide any scratch protection. That is the job for a proper screen protector and a pouch. Yup. You are right. Having the flip case does lead you to believe that it protect the screen even though in the actual fact, it might scratch the screen with the swaying movement of the flip and what not. Hmmmm looks like need to find derrickmoo then to order the sgp crystal clear. But now, have to make do with my so called diamond sp till i get the sgp sp. Thanks alot for ur piece of mind. You can go commando and go naked all the way, but the way I deal with my gadgets, they need to be relatively pristine and look relatively okay during their yearly sale later, hence the effort to protect them. But for God sake, please don't go for any leather cases that cling to the phone and make it look fat. Even while I'm using iPad I shake my head in disappointment at fat leather cases that envelops the iPad and makes the originally thin iPad becomes a ChinaPad fattie. Design aesthetics is one of the reason you're attracted to the device in the first place wasn't it? Don't spoil it by wrapping it in dead animal skin. QUOTE(manglersji @ Nov 28 2011, 03:37 AM) I'm awaiting for a high quality matte sp where I bulk ordered with another forum goer here & still he haven't rcv it yet. I recommend that u don't use the flip case when u already applied sp. The flip case is fragile if u put in your pants pocket. The edges will gradually melt in time/given the right condition/temperature & becomes sticky that it can pull your sp awAy. Will share later coz investigating still on what caused it. Uiks are you sure using flip case with sp caused this? I thought the flip case is built with strong material. I've been using it all this while but no melting effect. And my phone gets quite hot sometimes.& I also recommend you check out the previous pages of this thread because other forum-goers already shared links for a cheap sp from other forum-goers who had a WTS thread of it. |
