I flash samsung stock rom/leaked rom. Then added theme and performance script if any.

For normal user my advice just use KIES and wait for official update for bug fixes. No worry.

Enjoy your stock rom.  Keep downloading and installing apps smile.gif
*
How do you know I'm on stock? wink.gif For all you know, I could be 2.3.6 but stopped there coz it's stable enough for me.

Most of them maybe new.to android and may be gnote is their 1st android phone. You can see their questions here. We are nice people here to help even for us.aiyaaah..itu pun mau tanya ka.. read user manual la.. google la.. adoiyaai smile.gif
*
Right. I may consider myself "newbie" coz I left Android for a while, but I've been on the scene since Eclair and HTC Hero. Not up to date, catching up but not out of touch. Left coz the OS was appealing to me until GB/HC and now ICS.

QUOTE(patayabomb @ Nov 25 2011, 12:34 AM)
I have three questions:
1)how do I put my custom ringtone in it? Any
apps to select a specific part of the song to put
as ringtone?
2)I noticed there are 3 main storage site.
System, USB and SD card. I can anyhow put my
mp3 files anyway right? And should .apk files go
to system only?
3) which is your current favorite internet browser?
*
I think this is the third or the fourth time you're posting this. If you spent that much energy and enthusiasm looking up for answers in XDA-dev forums or simple Googling, you'd found your answers already.

2. Install your APK by hard pressing it while in your file browser and click install.
3. The stock browser. Has all the feature I need, fast, download attachment, and multitouch zooming in and out.

There aren't any apps that take advantage of barometric pressure to report and predict weather patterns/variation. Should be simple enough to do, my Tissot Touch can do it. Probably not enough audience interested in this kind of app.

Mine is Transcend 16GB class 10 too, so far no issue after a week of usage. For those app with options move to SD, I will move to SD. I bought it at RM160 (plus a sim adaptor) at MidV....  cry.gif

I stored mine in SD, the music player actually scans the whole SD and list out my ringtones as well in the playlist vmad.gif

Did you manage to display the lyrics using 3?

All my songs with proper album art and lyrics only showing album art with the stock music player..no lyrics shown even with the option show lyrics enabled  cry.gif

No lyrics. You'll have to search the MArket for the ones with lyrics.

Just received the MHL HDMI cable, and did a test out to my HDTV. IS there any way to change the output resolution to something other than 1080i? I see no controls to select resolution. While 1080i is fine on most cases, on fast movie movies/scenes, jagged edges are apparent. I'd prefer 720p in this case.

Everything else looks super though. Tested DICE playing 720p MKVs/AVIs/MP4s, they're perfect. Shadowgun on big screen is awesome, so does your standard web browsing and productivity apps. Plex for Android, well....that depends on how high a bitrate you selected on the streaming, but leaving it on auto, there are pixelations but very watchable.

Hey string, just wondering how how do I extend the length of the MHL cable? have to sit quite near to game right?

I realize my note is a little laggy. On kk1stock rom. Any ideas?
*
The problem with the MHL cable is that it needs USB connection power as well. So I guess what you can do is have an extended HDMI cable, but you're still restricted to how long your microUSB cable is to power the cable.

I'm basically using this as a makeshift TV Show viewer when I'm outside the country working, so a working Plex is good news to me, plus now I can output this to a TV.

As for that lagginess, I don't have any, and I'm on the same stock ROM. What I did was, I've switched to ADW EX launcher, ditched the stock and ADW's own app drawer for AltDrawer, and use stock browser which plenty fast for me instead of Dolphin HD. Random reboot when I had Dolphin installed.

Thanks din know there's such demo smile.gif

Complete modded the Note... using ADW EX... it's superb but battery life is worsen...

Got a few questions :

1. How do I get back S planner in ADW?
2. Pressing Home button always prompt me to select ADW or TW.. how can I disable this
3. Can I freeze TW now as I'm using ADW... what else to freeze for TW?

Thanks.

Added on November 25, 2011, 3:04 pm

Use Dolphin Mini.. bestest browser.. super fast... tested all those browsers out there... dolphin Mini is the fastest.. beat Opera Mini as well for the sites I tested...
*
1. Using the app drawer?
2. If you check the box and select ADW, it will remain as the default launcher. To get back to TW, you need to go to Settings --Applications--Manage Applications --ADW EX--Clear default.
3. I dont freeze anything. I like the options of having them if I need to.

You have to edit it into the launcher. Google ADW Go-to guide. It's very simple.

Looking at TwelveSouth Compass stand meant for the iPad to become the stand for my Note. Otherwise if I just want am ugly stand, any Ikea stand or a bent cost hanger will do. The Joule stand for the iPad works for the Note, but only in landscape. In portrait it's too big.

Hi everyone, is the White version of Galaxy Note available for sale in Malaysia already? Want to pair it with my White 4S... wink.gif

Yes. Lowyat Plaza. On display and for sale. Personally, I prefer black for movie watching. The frame bezel disappears on the black model since the black level on the Note is so black.

Nice, but I need a stand that can slip the charging USB cable under it so that the Note can charge while placed in spot.

Something like Compass :-

or this guy:-

The stand have to function as a portable stand to charge and to display.

Downloading Route 66 Navigation app, freshly made available today. Utilising Augmented Reality technology, where it uses the onboard camera and superimpose/overlay the GPS route/map on it.

Accessories are personal preferences. IMO, I feel that any flip cases that encases the entire phone just adds bulk, and the Note is already a big phone. The free flip case/cover is as much I willing to go in terms of adding bulk, no more.

I totally understand your predicament though. I spent the entire evening yesterday looking for a case for the Note, and I can't find any that doesn't add bulk, or aren't tacky or cheesy looking. I believe we've moved past the PocketPC days to not use those PielFramas type cases, personally I feel they're ugly. It hides the form factor of the slim Note. A pouch wouldn't hide the form factor, only protects it, when I take it out of the pouch when I need to use it, it is still slim and manageable in my hands. Adding bulk with thick cases only makes handling the Note in it unwieldy, unless you have giant Ronald McDonalds hands. tongue.gif

Personal preference for the most ideal Note accessories:-

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Those accessories keep bulk down, easy to pack it in your bag or jeans/pants pocket and move around. Plus the SP itself doesn't dilute the screen clarity when applied, it's a shame to degrade that gorgeous screen with cheap SPs. wink.gif

Was initially looking into getting a universal GPS holder for the Note as some sort of makeshift stand for the Note, but looking at the options offered at LYP yesterday, every single one of them looks like they're about to EAT the Note alive, so big, bulky, and UGLY.

If only they make the Spiderpodium type holder, but for a GPS holder type.

www.breffo.com

The enveloping "fingers" are slim, and out of the way, therefore I can concentrate on looking at the beautiful Note screen rather than the ugly generic GPS holders they have in the market now.

My last experience with MartinFields SPs is that that they are thicker than normal SP, and more prone to fingerprints. More like Wrapsol or Bodyguardz than Powersupport or SGP quality.

MartinFields SPs are fine once upon a time ago during the PocketPC days where the input device was stylus on resistive screen which requires harder pokings, but during these days and age of capacitive screen of the touchscreen, they are too thick to be accurate on registering light touches and pressure sensitivities, which the Note/Wacom technology uses.
