Dear All,

I've been reading through all the comments, sharing and information that posted from "Samsung Galaxy Note" v2 (from page 40) till v3 (till page 50)

And I kept lots of information regarding Android OS, Samsung Galaxy Note, etc etc (papago, root, case, screen protector,.....) into the words file for my own reference.

attaching the file here as for those who 1st reading this forum.
It's good information to go through rather than asking the same question again.
(sorry... it's messy... no time to properly organize it)

cheers

Dear Benny,

I search the website http://www.sygic.com/en, it shown "Sygic GPS Navigation for Android (Singapore & Malaysia)" only cost 19.99 €.
I think it's about RM100.  drool.gif

How come your's so expensive? it's the u can use tht in any country??  rclxub.gif

Mean while, may I know if Samsung Galaxy Note without 3G Data, only using it own GPS.
Will the location tracking not be accurate??  hmm.gif

kindly advise. Thank you.  notworthy.gif

Price i quote is same as yours ; infact this price was increased - I paid only Euro 9.99 for Msia/Spore in June for my SGS II while I paid Euro 35 for the same stuff in March for my Dell Streak !! I have transfer my purchased licence for the SGS II over to the Galaxy Note

You just enable 3G for the initial GPS lock - it helps a lot - my GPS lockup is immediate to 2 secs the most ; the amount of data used is negligible

hi, it's me again. want to ask some question again.

1. how many FPS can galaxy note shoot for 480p? for 1080p is max 30fps... what about 480p? can go up to 60fps?

2. if you take out a battery for a brief moment (30second), like example swap memory card, do you need to key in date and time again?

Dear Benny,

Thank you very much for your respond.
You always given a very good technical and recommendation advise.

The reason I bring up the non-3G for GPS matters is because I'm a pre-paid user.
And I've turn off my "Data".

Just worry that without using 3G but only the GPS will it locate the location accurately.
Slow getting the GPS lock can be accepted smile.gif

Not much choices of roms :

1. SHEEP rom based on KKA at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352945
He uses his own kernel which is compatible with Chainfire CF root
2. Modded lean rom HK ZSKK1 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342797
3. Antoniomistretta KKA rom at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342797
4. Germany KK9 and Switzerland KKA at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350960

I have tested 1, 2 and 3 and frankly I don't see any major differences in battery life. If you read XDA forums, opinions are mixed - some said battery life is better while some said is worse. I'd say the HK ZSKK1 has a slightly better battery life
If you are still on KKI - try change to FM kernel 1.2 by SHEEP ( the reviews seems not bad ): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342807 . Flash it using Mobile Odin or through CWM app

lol.... i guess you will need to "boh song" for quite a while coz many of us still searching for the "perfect" SP.

it is normal to pay for overpriced accessories when we are shopping for gadgets - i also pay much higher for a neck strap for my DSLR when i bought it at the camera shop coz I thought the shop will give me better price as I am buying it together with the DSLR but apparently all those gadgets shop will sell you the main items at normal price (coz you can easily verify the prices from some other places) and then recoup additional profits from the accessories.  whistling.gif  So lesson learnt - buy only the main gadget from shop and all others accessories from LYN only.  laugh.gif

hahaha... ya, some more, i din even get to find out exactly what it was... the guy at the SEP in IOI just said its good and normally selling rm90... now selling rm60 to me...

now that i think back... i could just be a nillkin SP... i check on the net... wah... it looks like a cheap SP... really lagi boh song now... sad.gif

but i dun blame anyone except myself... i also dunno why i agree to buy it... hahaha... maybe that time... blur liao after holding the note.

After you have root your phone, use TitaniumBackup to backup your apps plus its data. It is better to backup to external sd card incase your internal SD card "kaput" during flashing. It has happen before once to me flashing the galaxy tab. In TB , at menu/preferences select the external sd card as backup folder ( you need create the TitaniumBackup folder first at the ext card).
Depends on your firmware format : if after extract is packaged as a single file in tar format - you can use Mobile Odin or CWM . Both are equally easy to use
But I still prefer the old way of booting into recovery mode and flash it as i always practiced clearing cache partition , dalvik cache first before flashing a new firmware

Just select boot normally - then download the hosts files after that
