Got the not so cheap cut throat price diamond sp...bought for RM40...it is clear when compared with the previous free matte sp that i got when i bought the note.

The sp looks really cleear and smooth while swiping. However it does come with a glaring flaw in terms of really tiny dots which suppose to look like diamonds hence, the name diamond sp. These dots somewhat affect your viewing though. Thinking of removing this sp and leave the screen naked since got the free flip case.

Reason I am replying to ur thread is that I wanna know whether you were using the flip case or not and what is ur opinion in leaving yhe screen naked without the screen protector. Will using the flip case somewhat protect the screen? Thanks in advance.
*
I switch between the back cover with flip and without depending on mood, now that I have the SGP SP, I can use the one without the flip cover at the front. Personally, I feel that the flip cover front is psychological. You felt safe that it covers the front but the way it sways about when taken out because it is not latched to anything doesn't protect the screen from any scratches, just a "perceived" peace of mind. I'm still gonna hang on to my flip cover case, but not relying on it to provide any scratch protection. That is the job for a proper screen protector and a pouch.

You can go commando and go naked all the way, but the way I deal with my gadgets, they need to be relatively pristine and look relatively okay during their yearly sale later, hence the effort to protect them. But for God sake, please don't go for any leather cases that cling to the phone and make it look fat. Even while I'm using iPad I shake my head in disappointment at fat leather cases that envelops the iPad and makes the originally thin iPad becomes a ChinaPad fattie. Design aesthetics is one of the reason you're attracted to the device in the first place wasn't it? Don't spoil it by wrapping it in dead animal skin.

Installing the SP is a pain. My attempt to install has produced some bubbles on the side and 2 in the middle. Left it as it is for now. But feel like peeling it off alltogether.

Can anyone recommend a good SP with easy bubble-free installation?
*
SGP Ultra Clear for no compromise on screen clarity, Ultra Matte if you hate glare. The SP even allows multiple lifting and reapplying if you get bubbles in between, comes with squeegee to squeeze all the bubbles out. Don't compromise, you bought the Note at a premium price, don't use a pakai-buang SP.

QUOTE(heavenhell @ Nov 27 2011, 10:35 AM)
Use card or flat cardboard to remove the bubble
*
Once you've installed it, it's hard to squeeze out the bubbles. Lifting it up once installed exposes it to dust which further introduces more bubbles.

Erm thats hw u should squeez out those bubbles after installing sp. Unless there are some dust there then u cant. Just applied the sgp oleo on my note ytd smile.gif
*
That's the advantage of the SGP. Even after applied, you can still properly squeeze out the bubbles.

Granted, I left mine to the professionals to do it, but if I were to do it myself, I'd be applying the SP one third of the way down and squeegee it carefully all the way, no bubbles in between.

YMMV. Of course you can get somewhat acceptable results with RM9 SPs, but there's a reason why it's RM9 in the first place. tongue.gif

Yes, since it is no contract, your purchase is treated as if you're buying it off SEP. Which qualifies you to a 2 year warranty.

Dungeon Defender Second Wave is broken. The only chain fire 3D plugin that works, the Nvidia plugin causes the controls of be displayed off-screen. It's all perfect right up until that point. sad.gif

I left phone overnight without charge at 72% woke up morning 70 % .quite good.
Then watched a movie for 2 hours drained to 40%.then played pro evolution soccer for another hour...phone died...
Are u guys getting the same battery drain pattern?
*
DICE Player. Hardware accelerated movie player. "HW" icon will light up green when indicating running hardware acceleration. Any other movie player runs software processing only, which will eat into battery endurance.

Just sharing my exp here, i do have both sg 7 and 10.1 tabs, but with sgn, i can honestly say that i have no hesitation to leave both of them at home. And currently, im using the sgn to to type this message at dome subang parade. Its realyconvenience when u can just take out your note from your pocket to browse the net without even have to carry an extra bag for your tab. But for 7' tab, u can always slide it inside it inside your jeans back pocket.
*
Keyword in bold. If my jeans pocket is any bigger, I'd be better off wearing bling2 around my neck, and rap.

Bottom line is, unless you're okay with khakis, fitting the 7" anything into a jeans pocket is pushing it.

You echo exactly my sentiment. I left my iPad 2 at home already now.

Since Note does not have LED light to bling for any notification alert. I uses Missed Call Reminder to set reminder alarm for miss call and SMS. Works pretty well so far.
*
I thought the stock lock screen has notification for missed calls and SMSes? Got those on mine.

Dude, when 7' tabs was first released, even the sg2 wan not available at that time, unless u r fine with carrying around your ipa, your browsing exp was limited to small screen smartphon. So 7' was best available option at that time eventhough it looked so strange with big size gadget at your back pocket.
*
Read my post again carefully. The whole post was about fitting a 7 inch device in a jeans pocket. I've no doubt that surfing on anything larger than a phone screen is much more pleasurable, but the case in point here is "fitting a 7 inch device into a jeans pocket". Slipping an RM2K device in a baggy jeans pocket is possible, but you risk having your pants pulled down in the process. laugh.gif

The stock lock screen has reminder as well? I can't find the setting that's why look for third party app.
*
It tells you how many missed called and SMSes are received between the last time you locked it and the time you look at it last. I just called my two numbers, and yes, it shows.

It's the stock lock screen, not the pattern lock screen.

I can imagine put into sidepocket like Uncle Benny said but backpocket? Butt must look odd ~LOL~
Since somebody said it can be done means it can be done, odd look or not :-)
*
Here's how it would look:-

Even that model has to keep on pushing the device down her back pocket! laugh.gif

It can be done, BUT extremely uncomfortable on a traditional jeans. Khakis, cargo pants or Dockers, sure it'll hide the bulges, but better tighten that belt, else you don't wanna your pants to slip down due to the weight. tongue.gif

Guys, this "No LED" is cool man.  It keeps blipping on your screen with the relevant app coloured icons and even has an option to have audio blip reminders( I use the PDAIR case which does not let me see my screen) to tell me there is some missed calls, sms or email etc...
*
Reports here says that NoLED is a battery drainer.

Easy Rooting Toolkit. For those who don't wanna mess around much about kernels or ROMs, just simple root. I did mine and it's flawless.

Oh, I might missed that out since I configured company exchange email right after getting my gnote. It is required for me to set pin or password lock due to security imposed by exchange policy. I can't even set pattern lock now unless I delete the exchange sync. Hmmm.... hmm.gif
*
Yup, missed calls and SMSes are tallied and represented as symbols marked in red sphere inside the circular lock sphere. Easy to notice and to check as well.

I expect it as much too, with that tip bulging out. The Sony Vaio P is after all more oblong than the rectangular Tab.
