QUOTE(seantang @ Nov 22 2011, 10:50 PM) Waiting patiently is not the answer. All you have to do is save 2800 a month in the bank and at the end of 3 years, you will have 100800. The answer is work harder, work smarter and earn enough to save 2800 a month. Waiting patiently for the answer to fall onto your lap is... This is not a good way... U need to how to invest too... perhaps in shares to achieve that $100K faster.Having said that, $100K (RM240K) is not much nowadays compare to property prices. A decent house in KL nowadays around RM600K or in SG is approx $350K for a family of 4 to live comfortably. Try to target $200K in 3 years (approx $5.5K savings a month). U can achieve this amount if your company pays you about 4-6 mths bonus a year + u know some tricks... This post has been edited by Jurlique: Nov 23 2011, 12:46 AM |

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Nov 28 2011, 11:39 PM) sg compensated ktm with another piece of land where they will jointly develop it.. too bad, there are still struggling in lack of electricity... now still need to buy electricity from Msia.. sad.sg returned 1 of the water treatment plant as one of the contract has already expired.. where else another will expire within 40 years i think.. .but in 10 years sg will be self sufficient for water supply liao this is why SG consider to build a nuclear plant. and the worst part is... SG is lack of land for further exploitation and population growth. After 20 yrs, SG development will eventually come to a standstill due to no land for further developments. I hope Australia will sell some islands to SG (at least equivalent to half the size of current SG in the next few years). |

I dunno why so many of you fussing about the MRT disruptions days ago.
I must say MRT in Singapore is still very reliable and efficient. How often you see MRT breakdowns in Singapore vs LRT breakdowns in KL? In KL, it is even worst... 1) 15-20 mins frequency 2) banana skins on LRT seats and damn kao dirty 3) LRT stations too packed 4) LRT with only 2 coaches? (those AMNO ppl have no brains one.. no thoughts of sustainability of increased commuters during peak hours) 5) At Tasik Selatan station, 3 LRT tracks with 3 different LRT/KTM companies... (Which sohai thought of this idea?) SO, SG MRT is still very good, clean and efficient. You cannot expect any MRT in the world to work 100% without breakdown for 24/7/365. So, dont shouting and screaming here and there about the low quality of SG-MRT. Go try the KL KTM or LRT or KL public bus, then you know. This is what Chinese says about 生在福中不知福. Added on December 18, 2011, 11:45 amAnd that day I argued with my colleague (who is stranded inside the MRT for 30 mins)... saying you Singaporean always like to Complain, complain, complain.... Even Orchard road flooded oso complain, care fare increase oso complain....come'on.... In Malaysia, KLCC flooded, Masjib Jamek area flooded.. complain oso no use, so ppl dare not complain. Taxi fare increase at least SG taxi is still a very nice experience to take... So, I have no complains at all despite the cab fare increase. He demanded SMRT-CEO to resign, WTF... go compare to Malaysia Tenaga, always electricity breakdown (CEO no resign), slow streamyx (CEO no resign), BERNAS, KTM poor quality (CEO no resign), and dozens of failed GLCs in Malaysia (CEO no reisgn)... I ask him to go fark himself. And he still continue argue bad about PAP this and that... Come'on.... Go compare with my bunch of retards in AMNO... Ah Jib Gor rear cows to earn a living? The biggest joke I heard this year. If you duwan your PAP, I can swap my AMNO with you... PAP come rule Malaysia....!!!!! In the end, we argued until that day he din talk a single word to me... Kanasai. But we are still good colleagues. This post has been edited by Jurlique: Dec 18 2011, 11:45 AM |

1 advice...
If you past 28 and still single, the chances to find a good looking girl is only about 10% bcos almost all girls will already have a bf. Unless you:- 1) spannar the girl 2) chase those PRC girls (there are many good (pretty, simple and kind heartered) PRC girls if you dont mind) This is my usual advice to my company's colleagues as well. The good time to find a gf is around 22-28 years usually. |

QUOTE(seantang @ Jan 8 2012, 12:13 AM) I have seen many PRC girls recently or along my assignment and project previously.1) They are quite good looking 2) More willing to help you 3) Polite and humble 4) Mostly unattached aged around 22-27 5) Some can command average or slightly above average of English Apparently, you can find many of them if you work out of the city areas like West area, or Northern SG. Or you can easily meet anyone of them in some English classes too. I have met a Kindergarden PRC teacher since last year... now wanted to intro to one of my fren who is still single. |

QUOTE(Materazzi @ Jan 8 2012, 12:49 AM) kindergarten teacher then intro to me. but I dun want the girl with different nationalities, why?? I see lots of couples have a long distance relationship although their children have already worked. You mean you wanna find a kindergarden teacher which is a Malaysian? I tell you very hard to find edy? What is your age now? Girl who are teachers nowadays mostly attached edy even with normal look.I found the vietnamese are hot and low cost maintenance. Even if you found one, later you complain she very Kampung type bcos she comes from Yong Peng or Perak etc instead of KL, eventually you will dump her as well... My advice is, if you like a particular girl, just spannar (but beware of KARMA) QUOTE(Materazzi @ Jan 8 2012, 12:55 AM) You are WRONG!!! Average looking GIRL will have INTENSE competition.why? Coz most of US are RISK AVERSE. Need drills la for Type A to Type D girls.See this article: |

QUOTE(Materazzi @ Jan 8 2012, 01:09 AM) I have done the spannar..got karma, 3 yrs single, 3 girls rejected, 1 yr 1 rejection. Since you 22-26 yrs, still young la, mingle more in the society and you will get your "Ms Right". I believe you got a good job with high salary too, then shld be more easier.I just want to focus on LT relationship, kindergarten teacher or girls work in non for profit. Rich girl no need, I can feed the food myself already.. My age is just between 22-26 yrs. Force yourself to deactivate your facebook profile for 2-3 mths and get your ass out of your room and join some outdoor activities to know more frens. |

QUOTE(sylar111 @ Jan 10 2012, 06:32 PM) From what I understand, in Singapore, most jobs are contract but most likely u get converted in Permanent after your contract finishes if the company needs you. Contract for how long?Ya direct contract is more project based. Meaning that they hire you for 1 year. After 1 year, your contract is then renewable depending on whether the project still needs you. There is less or even no chance of becoming permanent. Thanks It's difficult to check because I am currently based in KL. I am sure that there are some of you who are being contracted to a project and at the same time have experience in the permanent position. I just want to know the percentage diference between a contract position versus a permanent position in Sg Added on January 10, 2012, 6:34 pm IT Developer 6.5 years Degree in Computer Science cum degree in physics Is that a good salary SGD 4700? If contract how much should that increase to. Thanks Perhaps around $5.5K to $6K? |

Apple's pay in SG consider only average.Added on January 14, 2012, 1:53 pm with your kinda pay >9999, you could dine anyway you want. seriously, the only ppl I always see wine and dine is the Apple folks. Exxon Mobile, Shell or those working in Jurong Island got a premium salary. Then those working in Rolls Royce, MAS... etc, u will be surprise to see the pay of an 3 yrs exp accountant can reach $6K |
