Question:

To step in SG for career as a fresh grad, how much SGD do I need to carry? I have no links at, no relatives. Forever alone.

I reckon it will be more than that, unless you're putting up with relatives.

Assuming you sign a 2 year rental agreement for a room, you will need to pay 2 months deposit. Then you gotta sign up for phone, buy some necessities, get a ez-link card, etc.

Safer to say 3k at least.

Prepaid is more than enough for start.
Use the Singtel 55(SGD 15) or Starhub 128 (SGD28) thingy.
Will last you for 50 days.
It is a lot more worth it.
I am estimating about 1.5-2k for settling the rental part.
500 per month should be enough if u save.

trythis, finish your CCNA as soon as you can and start on CCNP.  I think you should complete it with a target date of say one to two months instead of waiting till end of the year.  Just to give you an idea, most of the junior Network Engineer that I worked with will need to have at least CCNA and doing their CCNP.  If not, they would really struggle to compete with others.  So I encourage you to complete your CCNA as soon as possible.  Also, try to learn up your Cisco networking skills by yourself like GNS.  Setup the lab and make sure you know the basic routing protocols as well as L2 technologies.  That will give you a headstart and to prepare for your CCNA.  Hope this helps.

Seems like quite a number of ppl into networking field. I am too!! Currently working with AT&T as Network Consultant. Come on Network Engineers. REVEAL yourself!!!
