Depends on ur rental lo.
For me need to pay rent deposit, agent fees and first mnth rental =.= Havent add in first mnth expenses before getting salary. |

I reckon it will be more than that, unless you're putting up with relatives.
Assuming you sign a 2 year rental agreement for a room, you will need to pay 2 months deposit. Then you gotta sign up for phone, buy some necessities, get a ez-link card, etc. Safer to say 3k at least. |

Prepaid is more than enough for start.
Use the Singtel 55(SGD 15) or Starhub 128 (SGD28) thingy. Will last you for 50 days. It is a lot more worth it. I am estimating about 1.5-2k for settling the rental part. 500 per month should be enough if u save. |
