basically i opened an acc to buy gold (paper though, not physical). gold is a hedge against inflation, so just plan on injection some of my savings there each month. |

I'm heading home on the evening of 18th, taking firstcoach
When I first got to SG, I had some savings so it wasnt too bad. But dont ever let money stop you from coming! Suffer abit for a month, then slowly recover. Nothing in life's easy right? |

hey come now, no need to put someone else down.
sometimes what they lack in paper qualifications, they make up for it with determination and hard work. so let's not discount anything. |

QUOTE(Aloong @ Jan 16 2012, 01:49 PM) Gotto do more info digging man. depends where you throw Added on January 16, 2012, 1:52 pm Not put ppl down lar. But its true lar, got cert easier than no cert mah, given all other circumstances is the same. Thats simple logic. Sumore u talking bout SG here. One stone throw chances of kena-ing degree holder higher than those without qualification lower than degree. Competition man.. anyway, i just lost another subordinate to resignation today. well, saw it coming...but hey that's life. |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jan 16 2012, 04:30 PM) I can't imagine having to do this every day @_@ ... so much wasted time just standing in the bus, standing in queue at immigration, etc ... it's a trade off. what you lose in time, you gain in more disposable income. i've seen colleagues leaving for work at 7pm, only to reach home at 9pm. after eating/bathing/etc, they're lucky to be left with a few hours before going to sleep, only to wake up again at freakin 5am in the morning to go to work. but yes, i share your feelings. i'd rather pay rent and stay closer to where i work than travel every day like that :s |

QUOTE(roci @ Jan 17 2012, 02:19 PM) hi got an offer at jurong east at PAPE Engineering. This PAPE is a JV company with Swiber. You anything about this place & company? Really need some one to enlighten me. At International Business Park then? Nice place. Loads of shuttle buses to ferry you to lunch places during lunch hour. Nearby malls like IMM and the upcoming JEM also. |
