no lor.. when i was young my parents work, we cant afford a maid so it was my grandparents that brought me up.. although they made some big mistakes along the way but i love them more than my parents  wub.gif ... my father dont have much $$$, and being his only son, i believe it is my responsibility to take care all of them... my sis  whistling.gif , i dont care...

my parents are not young liao lor, late 50s both retired.... no income  doh.gif

haih, easiest to look is within the company... but my company, or rather my stupid boss always hire ugly girls  doh.gif .. according to him so they can work late and dedicate their life to the company... thats why a lot of spinsters in my company  rclxub.gif ... jia lat..
*
SInce u've mentioned they all retired now, means u are already supporting them. If u can support them now, sure u can support them later lar. Ur salary will keep rising only mah, wont drop. unless u no progress, nothing to say lar.
Looks for girls tats is working and can help support ur family lor.
on second thought, look for rich girl. SInce u dun care about outlook, better still. Look for older/uglier but rich women.
Since materazi says auditor, look for those audit manageress who is still single, available, old and ugly. They work so hard until they turn ugly, but with lots of money, u dun even have to work, if u can satisfy her. SHe will support u and ur family.

1 advice...

If you past 28 and still single, the chances to find a good looking girl is only about 10% bcos almost all girls will already have a bf.

Unless you:-
1) spannar the girl
2) chase those PRC girls (there are many good (pretty, simple and kind heartered) PRC girls if you dont mind)

This is my usual advice to my company's colleagues as well.

The good time to find a gf is around 22-28 years usually.
*
i dun think so.
Wen u are 22, u will only go for girls from 18-24.
Wen u are 28, u will got for girls from 18-30.
Wen u are 40, u will go for girls from 18-42.
U actually have more choices as u grow older.
For women, the choices gets lesser

PRC=kind hearted?? I cannot digest this..

for me it is whether i can click with that girl or not.. rich/ugly/fat/stupid... doesnt matter, as long can click

*
then dun shift them over lor. does all of them wana shift in the first place? if they willing to shift then u buy a palace in JB and work in SG. learn from JB King.....

Hi everyone.  For a direct contract job, how much more should I be paid. Say my expected salary for a permanent is SGD4700. How much more should I be paid for a direct contract job?
*
Wat do u mean by direct contract job?
Meaning they award a contract for to to complete a project?
Or they offer u employment contract?

For the first one, u have to check what are other contractor / service provider quoting lor.
For second one, is no diff from normal employment.

Dear Sir,
Even if I do, i will certainly NOT offer you any job base on the many grammatical errors in your sentence above.

Kindly improve your english before you seek a job in Singapore. Actually i wonder how you got your current banking job in Malaysia with this level of english.....no wonder Singaporeans have a perception that Malaysian speak and write broken english....
*
I dun think think thats the main problem. The main problem is it's a HE and no sexy picture!!

Well you mistook me. Of course I will be taking that job with the presumption that I will stay no matter what happens. I am also not that concern about Job Security. Problem is that a contract worker should always be earning more then a permanent worker of the same capability because they sacrifice their job security. When say something happens, it's the contract worker that gets pushed out first followed by the permanent worker. Contract workers are always viewed as "not so important". That is why they get paid higher just in case something happens to them.
*
Not necessary contract worker less job security than permanent.
Permanent staff = termination notice 1-3 months.
Contract staff = cannot terminate u during the contract period, unless they compensate u.

So in that sense contract staff give u more certainty.

Anyway, the idea of contract staff higher pay than permanent staff only works during good economic times, and maybe a thing in the past

QUOTE(mercury8400 @ Jan 11 2012, 07:53 PM)
Contract worker don't get year end bonus or AWS (i.e. 13 months pay) like normal permanent staff do...
They only get a contractual bonus (upon completion of contract) which is normally only 1 month of salary....

Consequently they are the first on the chopping block should any retrenchment take place...
Which is why they SHOULD get paid higher....
BUT alot of foreigners are spoiling market right now.....
Especially those from India, China and now increasingly Europeans.....
They would rather take a contractual job for lower salary......coz its better than having no job at all....and contractual jobs are more flexible...i.e. can go travel etc after the contract ended....
So companies will use that as an excuse or benchmark

*
Contract staff is on the chopping board due to their cost, not because they are contract staff. ANd cost is higher because they r contract staff. An irony

*
Since you havent found a job yet, why don work in Msia for few months to save up some money to pay for ur first couple of months in SG?
This will also lower ur borrowings from ur dad.
No worries, we are all friendly ppl readily give advise to aspiring fellow msian forumers to make a better living in SG, especially female.

I think my resume is definitely above average, have had multiple people from HR industry help me revise it plus I worked on some major client engagements (especially in China), so experience highlighted throughout the resume should also definitely be OK.

I did hear that if SG companies see a Malaysian address they usually just automatically send it to the delete pile? Is it worth camping it out in Singapore for a while (Say maybe a month) so that my address is local?
*
My suggestions is try linkedin.
Nowadays its about networking and demonstrate to ppl (subtly) that u are good are ur field

So, just work hard for first few years and earn as much as you can. I already paid off my 5 room HDB. If I come back to malaysia, I can shake legs. But, money is good. It is an addiction. Just work and enjoy life here. Nothing to loose.

In SG, as long as you work reasonably, you should be able to own your home in 10-15 years. Clear your CPF early so that you don't have to incur interest. Anyway, special account in CPF give 4% also. So, you decide which is better. For my case, once my CPF is gemuk, I clear it. So, I look more handsome mah.

*
In case u didn't know if u sell off ur HDB, U nid to put back all the amount u took from CPF (for the HDB) + interest into ur CPF account.
Bascially u have to top up ur CPF account to an amount as if u never took out any money. And remember that if u have money inside, ur CPF grows from inetrest.

Anyone here with a Malaysian passport that starts with "H"?
Wat does it means?

My passport was all the while start with "A" until it was damaged one day. Then wen I got the replaced passport it started with H.
Then I just recently renewed it (as it was expiring), it's still starts with H.
I tried to google it, but no answer, except that for those old Malaysian IC, H means he/she is from Sabah. Ironically I was born in Sabah oso.

So does the H means I was born in Sabah, or it is to show that my passport was damaged before, or any other reason? Maybe a sabahan here can tell with me which alphabet your passport starts with?

Sorry, not sure under which sub-forum to ask the question above, but I suppose everyone here uses their passport frequently, so I post my question here.

The passport number of this Sabahan here starts with H but not sure whether it's just coincidence or memang H for Sabahans.
*
Thanks. In that case maybe thats the reason.
I was unable to renew online. I thot it was due to my bad record.
Maybe I try online renewal again next 5 years..

QUOTE(Tigerr @ Jan 31 2012, 09:42 AM)
The "H" is for the Sabahan's Passport. Same as the IC starting with H for the old IC. A is for those from Semenanjung. But, new IC, there is no more "H" but for Sabahan, the middle number is 12.
*
Thanks Alvin / Tigerr. Yeap I got a -12- IC number.
It took me last week from 8am to 11am just to submit application, then another 2&half hour to make payment at 1.30pm.
Then waited until 4pm only they say datang besok for collection.
Next day waited for one and half hour (from 7.30 to 9am), see that they couldn't even find the first passport for the first person queing up. Dun think I wana risk next few hours. decided to leave.
Then the next day, waited only half hour and got my passport. phew....
Hence, i dun think i wana be fussy about the alphabet and ask them to change it, and have to wait for few more days. Otherwise cannot come back SG.
Malaysia system really got lot to learn from SG (yea, i know obviously)

It really depends wat job u looking for here. u go there knock their door, hoping they entertain u. Just like those sales ppl go door to door sell things.
U can try and get ur 1% chance from 99% effort. Just that I wont, even the headhunter is just next building.
