all school in SG have their website, help you to locate their webpage for working adults here :

1) Special run of courses

2) Regular advance course

I think with the student card you should be able to access their gym, sport facilities etc... good luck.

the course i always want is full time. part time is those business, management, logistics which i dont like cuz got statistics and i failed in it. i only have spm, i cant skip straight to somewhere high right?

Well, eventually in your career you will hit a wall where you will find see that your lack of a degree is an unacceptable disadvantage. Either from managers discriminating against you because of lack of paper; or from competition from other candidates that are as good as (or almost as good as) you but have paper qualifications. So the question then is, are you going to try overcome this disadvantage earlier when you're single and have not much commitments, vs 10 years from now when you're raising 2 kids?

Mod chong for jor.. I takut.

Actually, I have many malaysian friends here who work and study long distance at the same time. Some working in the biggest banks here and some in manufacturing. It is good to upgrade to at least a diploma or a degree. When you reach 40yo, in SG can be considered redundant to some companies here.

So, just work hard for first few years and earn as much as you can. I already paid off my 5 room HDB. If I come back to malaysia, I can shake legs. But, money is good. It is an addiction. Just work and enjoy life here. Nothing to loose.

In SG, as long as you work reasonably, you should be able to own your home in 10-15 years. Clear your CPF early so that you don't have to incur interest. Anyway, special account in CPF give 4% also. So, you decide which is better. For my case, once my CPF is gemuk, I clear it. So, I look more handsome mah.

If possible go for 5 rooms, unless if you feel you cannot afford, then go for 4 or 3 rooms. With 5 rooms, more spacious. Condos also smaller here. Like living in a pigeon hole. Also, better get citizenship as they have subsidy and grants. Nothing to loose coz your cpf is going to be tied up till you die. Unless you say, you won't work in sg anymore. East Malaysians can withdraw CPF tho.

Again, once you settle and have kids; you can consider yourself a sinkaporean la... cannot escape one lah. So many of my friends already converted. Life is good being a first class citizen. wink.gif icon_idea.gif

Worst come to worst, drive taxi here or be a security guard when you are old. Simple life. Boleh?? wink.gif

I can see many packing their bags liao... even mod and deodorant also. rclxms.gif

The pay can be negotiated one mah.. If you work hard, and the company is doing well; they should reward you one lah. No worries. I just got 3 months bonus shaking legs. See, I am making mod crazy here. lol.

And also, once you are not happy, just apply for another job lor. Most companies welcome Malaysian one la. Malaysians are known to be humble, hardworking and friendly. Same slang as locals. wink.gif Boleh malaysia?? wink.gif

Mod want to do spring cleaning on the forum la.. thats why need 3 days to shutdown server. lol. just kidding, just kidding.. aha.. I am more active on badminton forum la... tks. wink.gif

Yes, I agree a lot of them leave. Same goes to every country. I think Msia is more. rclxub.gif

This chap is lucky lor. He went off earlier, rclxms.gif so during that time more opportunities for jobs. Now, not so easy lah. But still not impossible if you got good experience and attitude.

Like I say, people come and go. wink.gif Is SG, if you are a Singaporean, you cannot die one lah; as long as you got legs and arms to do something. Now, the govt is more proactive in protecting their people. If you really bankrupt, they have ways to support you. Just see the MP. wink.gif

Damit, maybe I shd charge sg garmen for upselling them. lol. This is from experience perspective ya. No right or wrong about it. wink.gif thumbup.gif

Hi everyone, MOM has increased the minimum salary requirement for E and S pass. I received a job offer of $1800 monthly salary which is 200 less than the MOM salary requirement for s pass. so i was just wondering if i should apply for work permit instead? has anyone of you managed to get approval for s pass even though you're getting less than the $2000 requirement?

applying for which pass is not your choice, its your employer that is choosing for you. i manage to get an EP even my pay doesn't hit the required ceiling.
leave it to your employer to decide what pass they are going to apply for you.

The salary requirement is just a guideline.
Not entirely based just on salary, there are other criterias but salary is the easiest to draw the line.
your employer will be the 1 who will be applying the work pass for you...so no need to worry about such things. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi guys, Need some advice.

I'm going to quit my job at the moment to look for one in Singapore.

I have tried applying through jobstreet and stuff but seems like not much replies as I have to serve a two months notice.

I'm in the IT line and have been working for the past one year only. Still quite fresh. What are my chances of getting a job there?

If the company wants you, they will appeal or apply another type of pass for u.
So in the end, this is still out of your control so worrying about it won't help.
Just follow the flow (i know, easier said than done laugh.gif laugh.gif )

Personally, I think you should continue on with your job and continue applying.
Unless you have some sort of deadline to get here, i won't recommend quiting and jumping over.
It definitely helps in getting a job if you stay in Sg, but what if it takes a bit longer than expected.
The cost will burn a hole in your pocket when you have no income.

i think rexona meant - probably in 10 years time, you will be married and have 2 kids.
when would be a better time to start studying part time (now or the 10 years later scenario).
maybe no need for degree or diploma.
how abt specialized skills or professional certifications?
they should be in shorter terms.
I suppose those will help if you do not want the diploma / degree.

Sound like your paper is redendant for your previous jobs.

If there is a will, there is a way or should I say if you can suft LNY you sure can do a part-time course.
