Hi guys,

I need help.

I trade in my car in April 2013. The dealer has settled my HP in May 2013. However, I am not provided with any documents on the transfer of ownership. I pre-signed some JPJ transfer form. THats all.

Is there any way for me to check on the status of ownership?

Thanks

Go to JPJ website, check here:

http://www.jpj.gov.my/web/guest/lkm-tamat-lesen

Once the ownership has been transferred I think the vehicle won't show your name, and details.

Try it with car you currently own, and the other.

Please remember that when you've sold your car, that the 'buyer' or agent, gives you a letter of indemnity to state that all future liabilities (summons etc) are not in your name. Else they can go rack up summons and all that, then just dump the car in future. And your name will be in database for not paying summons.

I've just renewed my driving licence recently but would like to change to the new one that's has only been introduced yesterday, because I need English version to drive abroad.
Can I change it eventhough my licence hasn't expired? How long does it take to change and how much would it cost?

I changed my license on 2 July, validity was till 2016, but the CSO told me need to extend to change license.

So I extended 2 years.

Paid 2 x RM30 + RM15 admin fee.

Total RM75 for 2 year extension.

Note: I just called JPJ as this interest me as well.

The response is this:

Do not go now, but rather in 1 or 2 months as they are ironing out problems in the card system.

You do not need to bring photo as they will use a database image of you.

No charges required and can obtain immediately.

Will written pass car to son

How should the procedure be if son wanna sell the car?

Change car name from deceased owner to son.

Use JPJK3A form and get the relevant other documents.

After that sell the car once it is in son's name.
