KL TO HOST SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKING CONVENTION NEXT MONTH

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Asia Pacific Diligence Sdn Bhd will hold

the "Social Media Networking Convention 2011" on Dec 9 at the Plenary Hall,

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The convention is aimed at e-commerce businessmen, social media

communication professionals and the general public who are interested to know

how the social media works.

The company said in a statement today that the convention would be made up

of two main events.

One is an exhibition that promotes networking and business-matching

opportunities while the other is a conference covering topics from marketing and

branding on social media to latest social media trends.

The exhibition involves an array of local and foreign participants including

CyberSecurity Malaysia, Groupon, Express Rail Link and Chartis Malaysia

Insurance.

Among the 12 speakers at the conference, meanwhile, are Pagemodo co-founder

Jakob Lykkegaard Pedersen and Timothy Tiah from Nuffnang.

ASPIRING e-commerce businessmen, social media communication professionals and the general public are given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on how social media works and how to engage specific groups of audiences via social media platforms at the Social Media Networking Convention 2011.

Organised by Asia Pacific Diligence Sdn Bhd, the convention opens its door at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on Dec 9. The convention is made up of two main events.

The first is the exhibition where it promotes networking and business-matching opportunities amongst market participants. Admission is free.

Exhibition participants include Cyber-Security Malaysia, Groupon, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd, Chartis Malaysia Insurance Bhd, MNC Wireless Bhd, Nuffnang Sdn Bhd, Pagemodo, SME Corporation Malaysia, PropertyGuru.com and S P Setia Bhd.

Apart from the exhibition, visitors are also given the opportunity to interact and peek into the brains of 12 of the market’s stars in social media networking including Pagemodo co-founder Jakob Lykkegaard Pedersen, Nuffnang co-founder Timothy Tiah, Groupon Malaysia chief executive officer Joel Neoh and Blugrapes Pte Ltd business director Ryan Lim.

The public can opt to sign up for a conference hosted by the 12 speakers, covering topics from marketing and branding on social media to latest social media trends, including marketing real estate through social media to merging fashion with social media.

The conference will run concurrent with the convention, from 9am to 5.30pm.

Visitors will be able to build their understanding and knowledge of the benefits of social media networking and gain insights from market players.

Strategically organised in light of the increasingly high penetration in social networks amongst Malaysians as revealed by the Global World Index, the convention will address opportunities that this trend has presented by creating a platform in social media.
