xbox setting > HDD > find the file, (y) to copy > copy to pendrive (MS format)
use
HDDHackr v1.30 (illegal if you abuse it). Search through pendrive for the xxx.avi file. Some cases its encrypted. Then your out of luck.
i found this to be the easiest. Other method will have to access through PC by networking.
don't know can use hddhackr. use PartyBuffalo is maybe easier.

No luck for me even after downloading the update, still cant get it to play in my console via my pendrive. You can play your mp4 in your xbox without modifying the files?
Well, depends on the type of MP4 file.
Check the video first in VLC media player on desktop (Tools > Codec Information). If it says something like H264 or MPEG 4 then it should just play.
And you should check the video container too. Sometimes the video is using MP4 extension with H264 or MPEG4 codec, but it's using MKV as container. MKV cant be played on xbox 360.
To make sure your xbox can't really play mp4 or not, try download movie trailer from Quicktime site onto your desktop. Copy it on a pendrive and play it on the xbox.
