It's happening randomly. Need to try a few times before it starts up and then behaves perfectly after that. Watched a full blu ray, finished Infamous 2 (though it does crash randomly). I'm leaning more towards a hdd corrupted scenario. Will wait till absolutely must before reformatting or replacing the hdd. sad.gif

p/s: Sucks that the PS4 isn't backwards compatible. Sigh. sad.gif

hey Eoma, did you update your firmware to 4.41 already? if so, does YLOD still happens? Btw, your ps3 is slim/fat?

Not yet / can't. It refuses to boot up recently, YLOD. sad.gif
I tried formatting the hdd but no go. Any cheap place for YLOD repairs in PJ ?

It's a 40GB SG Phat unit bought in May 2008 (iirc).

Ah sorry to hear that. Sorry i'm not from KL, so can't help you there. Mine is also bought in 2008, guess is inevitable that YLOD is nearing. Thanks for your reply
