need some clarification,

the complimentary beverage given upon registered the card is how to redeem?

Can i walk in to redeem it without any purchase?
Or i need to make 1 beverage purchase in order to redeem it?

i'm slightly confusing with the word they used "complimentary"...
any one know?

You don't need to buy anything to enjoy the free hand-crafted beverage
Just walk into the counter to "demand" for the free drink.

I only use the normal Starbucks card..not the Christmas edition.')

No.u can only use jcard when u use ur Starbucks card .not whole reloading the card .

If I'm not mistaken, by the end of this year (31 Dec 2011), Starbucks will cancel all discounts, including 10% JCARD and 10% HSBC CC. This card will be the replacement for loyalty thingy.

Can anybody confirm this, or do I get the fact wrong?

u are right, i redeemed my free drink without any purchase.

i have a brown color caddy, un-opened & still wrap with original plastic.
Not sure the barista willing to exchange it with a black color 1 for me or not...
That time i took the brown color is because black color already out of stock...

It is true. According to the barista at 1U at least.

IINM, many branches, inculding the one in Pusat Bandar Damansara already not accepting JCARD i think. not sure about HSBC.
